  1. The power of public relations and the media my friend
  2. What have I got planned for my wife valentine's day? Not sure yet, I may make an extra effort to leave the toilet seat down after I've needed to go that day
  3. Wasn't that for when he threw those coins at Lowe?
  4. I've heard it's been deferred til April 2012 also, I think it got confirmed on this thread a few pages back
  5. Christ, even the MPs are having a go at them now http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=156036886 The sound of their feet landing on the bandwagon is deafening
  6. maybe we could loan them Pulis & Forecast to help them out
  7. Shall we have a sweepstake on who will be offended by the next Top Gear episode?
  8. And because they played on quagmires of pitches and other technological advances, the games were generally nowhere near as quick and frantic as it is now. players are far fitter now than they were even 20 years ago, but the human body can only take so much. I think players are overfit now considering the injuries some get. There was one player (was it Lita?) who ruptured something by stretching in bed. Even at an end of the season you can still run around constantly for 90 minutes but your performance/concentration levels are going to be nowhere near as good as they were at the beginning of the season and if like Pompey your playing every league and cup game and rarely getting rested for any of the games you'll get burnt out, and whilst you can still physically cope with it, your level of performance will drop like a stone. You just gotta watch a lot of the top players based in Europe that played 50-60 games in their domestic season and see how they performed at the world cup last year
  9. Apparently even Liam Lawrence was looking disinterested in the second half last night
  10. According to Solent N'Guessan was easily our best player in the first half
  11. With their small squad they cannot rest a lot of their players. Their having to play every league game, every cup game. Towards the end of the season they are going to tire far more than other clubs with bigger squads. I think the effect is already starting to take place. I've just had a look at their results this year, if my maths is correct they'e conceded 14 goals since the turn of the year and 10 of those have been in the second half. The remainder of the season is going to be very long and very hard
  12. Pompey lose again, just 4 points above the relegation zone, 15 off the playoffs and 20 off automatic promotion According to a skate friend they played well but last few games the players look knackered on the hour mark.
  13. Pompey lose again, just 4 points above the relegation zone. . . According to a skate friend they played well but last few games the players look knackered on the hour mark.
  14. Fifthed (Let's see how high we can get this )
  15. Abramovich has plenty of strings to pull so they can compete
  16. neither of them have played for what a month? so I'd assumed it'd have happened by now if it was going to happen
  17. yep ben haim is back at Pompey, crocked and "doing an Utaka" Peter Storrie is without doubt a Saints legend
  18. Looks like Halo has recently been having posting lessons from Frank's Cousin Great post.
  19. A lot of them seem to think that since the CVA got approved all of their financial problems have just magically disappeared and they can carry on signing who they want on god knows how many k's a week and if anyone tries to stop them their hard done by. A lot of their fans expect them to be promotion favourites and simply do not have a clue.
  20. god these threads are repetitive
  21. Only thing wrong for me was we didn't get rid of Pulis permanently
  22. I haven't agreed with Cortese 100% but have always been quietly satisfied with how he's done so far. Comes across as someone who isn't afraid of making strong decisions, he'll upset people but that's his way He was adamant AOC wouldn't be sold in January and he was true to his word. Fair play to him.
  23. 35 million for Carroll is absolutely ludicrous and quite frankly Liverpool are probably the only club who would pay that. To put it into perspective David Villa, one of the best strikers in Europe was signed by Barce for £34 million. To put Carroll into the same bracket as Villa is hilarious and sums up everything that's wrong with English football.
  24. so it looks like pace is his forte (thought I'd get that in first) Also a Barbados international
  25. Nope, he's gone back to Zamalek
