Welcome to the Premier League Mr Klopp. By now he's probably realised that the "special" Anfield atmosphere aint all it's cracked up to be and about a million miles from what he's used to at Dortmund and all other German stadiums. Watched their game on MOTD last night and it really was eerily quiet for most of the time. Just a typical crap English atmosphere and the usual 80 minute slip away witnessed at just about every ground these days.

To be honest, I was just being a bit mischievous. There are, but, most of the 'hooligans' are no different to those over here, just pulling their hoods up and putting on a show. They had 30,000 for a third tier fixture, I'd guess the vast majority were just there to add to the occasion in a fanatical way. I loved the old school English support of 30/40-odd years ago but as many have said, it no longer exists. I envy many European matches these days, I'd loved to be inside a stadium experiencing that kind of 'support' every week.

Still amazes me there's so much more TV money sloshing around our game, I know we have a competitive league and some big names but there's also loads of dire games televised being played in front of quiet stadiums. Every time I catch a Bundesliga game, every ground seems to be packed and vibrant and they've got massive clubs and some top players over there. I wonder how their TV revenue compares to ours? This was a third division game at the weekend. Scroll down for some impressive crowd images. http://m.ultras-tifo.net/photo-news/3863-dynamo-dresden-magdeburg-31102015.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Wounded animal. Off the back of a 6-2, still smarting from a certain eight goal drubbing against their next opposition. Big Fat Sam will be demanding an improvement. Sh*t ground for us but quietly hopeful of a positive result.

Corr! That would pay for another tier on the Kingsland. Light fuse, stand well back, never return.

"An animosity which runs so deep it makes Rangers vs. Celtic look friendly" FFS, someone's been on the pop.

Do you think they may have made a big flag like Feyenoord when they played their big rivals during the week? http://m.ultras-tifo.net/photo-news/3855-feyenoord-ajax-28102015.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter 'Plucky little p*mpey' named a fanzine after a derby game with us back in the 80s, so the Cherries are sure to mark the occasion somehow.

70k a week according to the Hull Daily Mail http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Gaston-Ramirez-leave-Hull-City-hamstring-injury/story-26488052-detail/story.html Some of the comments sound familiar!

Saints 2 - 1 Villa - League Cup R4 - Reaction
100%Red&White replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
It was, well until we scored, although by the sound of a few songs it may have been a first away trip since the 80s for some. We were sat in the Itchen corp seats for a change last night, STs in the Kingsland-North normally, and you get to see how poor the home support is from there. From where we were sat you can't hear the Itchen North at all and the Northam just sounds like a bunch of quiet schoolboys compared to similar numbers in the away bit. Villa were loud, belting songs out at the top of their lungs, ours don't seem to actually raise their voices. I can also confirm anything south of the halfway line barely stir, a few clap along when OWTS gets going (and drowned out by Villa doing their version) but little or no singing. It's all very polite. -
Nutshell. It's been a while. For a £12m-whatever transfer fee and about the same again in salary, it's been a big disappointment for all concerned, just leave us with a favourable lasting memory, ta.

Saints V Villa Build Up Thread Capital One Cup

"They are a fickle lot and the disappointment of crashing out of Europe will have an effect. 17,086" http://www.heroesandvillains.info/forumv3/index.php?topic=54912.15 They're guessing the crowd at SMS. Lucky it wasn't a home game for them, "Empty Seats, M'Lord". -
"over 53k" Twice they got just over 50k in their golden era (record 51k) but they were mostly 10-15,000 under capacity in their title winning year. And never got near their highest capacity of 60k. FFS, they mostly couldn't fill 18k 'home' seats the last time they were in the Premier. Deludedf*ckwitsruleok.

I look at a few sites but can't say I've seen anyone suggesting we're "world beaters", guess we've all got woppers that like to talk sh*te. "A quick trawl on their sites and after a 3 1 success at a poor Chelsea they are suddenly world beaters. We are a lucky side full of grafters, and our wins this season have come against poor sides, etc, etc. I think it's great to be written off before a ball is kicked hope their team is as cocky as some of their fans. It isn't going to be easy but we have nothing to fear here. Hope Mane does not do his diving act like he did at the kp last season. I am going for a 2 1 win to us for this" http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/102803-saints-away-next-early-thoughts/page-7 I'm going with the majority view, tough game between 2 decent sides. Think we'll edge it

Half of our fans would miss it.

Some Villa fans think they'll shift 3000 at those prices. http://www.heroesandvillains.info/forumv3/index.php?topic=54792.105 With kids off school there may be some disappointed Saints fans if they don't send Block 43 back. Of course, they're entitled to an extra thousand or so tickets for cup games so SFC should get on and sell Block 42 to home fans!
-
Should have added: £12 for adults £7 for concessions £5 for under-17s

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/tickets-southampton-aston-villa-capital-one-cup-round-4-2718663.aspx Should ensure another full house.

Sounds like they've got around a couple of thousand making the trip, they returned tickets for Block 35 which is now on sale to Saints fans. Not a rugby fan myself but guess it will add a bit of spice to the occasion, they'll no doubt be in good patriotic voice. They haven't scored in 3 but I think they've taken on James Beattie as a striker coach, depending on which one turns up, that may not be a great concern.

Surely, Juanmi is going to get a go in this one? And a right back playing right back, ta.
