  1. Looks like he won't though ? Thibaut Courtois will not line up for Atletico Madrid against his parent club Chelsea if the teams meet in the Champions League semi-finals. Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo confirmed the news after a 2-1 aggregate victory over Barcelona in the last eight. The Spanish side would have to pay Chelsea a large fee to allow Courtois to play in the semi-finals, believed to be in the region of £8.25m, an amount that Cerezo described as unrealistic. Cerezo told Spanish radio station Onda Cero: 'If we draw Chelsea, Courtois won't play. It is a figure we cannot pay.'
  2. Thank you everyone for your replies. They do tend to spend money, without really thinking, on items we wouldn't and we had hoped that at their ages they would have learned more sense by now. However as some have said you do still feel responsible for them so I suspect that we will cave in yet again although goodness knows what they will do when we have eventually died. .
  3. How old were your children before they no longer expected you to bale them out of a financial problem situation? We are only talking of about £950 - not thousands - and the child and partner* are employed. In the past several "loans" have been asked for (and given) with a promise that we will "soon" be repaid, never have been though but then again we have never actually asked for repayment. We are now both O.A.P's. so not exactly rolling in money and that money that we do have is for us to enjoy after long hard working lives. *(They are in their mid forties and early fifties).
  4. A post found in The Guardian says:- "So they are picking up signals one day to the next, but they are hundreds of kilometers apart. This pretty much confirms to me that a shark has indeed eaten something they are confusing for a black box, and is swimming around with it inside. Ocean currents cannot explain distances as big as that. The key now is to find that shark, find out why it's swimming about like that and see what contraption is carrying the signal. Do the authorities have a record of who has tagged sharks in the last few months? In the meantime, MH370 is parked in a hanger somewhere." :mcinnes::rolleyes:
  5. As I understand it when he was attacked he was on remand awaiting trial. In the eyes of the Law at that moment he was officially not guilty. Anyone who is on remand is entitled to be safe and to not be attacked hence this compensation. HOWEVER as far as I am concerned once a scumbag is found guilty of an offence like he was then he takes his chances like everyone else and no compo should be given.
  6. Most researchers agree that the Yellowstone supervolcano will erupt again, including Ilya Bindeman, an associate professor of geological sciences at the University of Oregon. “Yellowstone is one of the biggest supervolcanos in the world,” he said in an analysis released by the university. “Sometimes it erupts quietly with lava flow, but once or twice every million years, it erupts very violently, forming large calderas,” which are very large craters measuring tens of kilometers in diameter. If a huge eruption happened again, similar to three big ones over the last two million years, he says that the eruption would obliterate the surroundings within a radius of over 100 miles and cover the rest of the United States and Canada with multiple inches of ash. A volcanic event of such magnitude “hasn’t happened in modern civilization,” he says. However, Bindeman says he doesn’t think that this kind of eruption will happen anytime soon. He says it won’t happen for at least another million years. “Our research of the pattern of such volcanism in two older, ‘complete’ caldera clusters in the wake of Yellowstone allows a prognosis that Yellowstone is on a dying cycle, rather than on a ramping up cycle,” he says. http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/597425-yellowstone-supervolcano-eruption-in-our-lifetime-map/ .
  7. Yes leaving all the little dears with their chav parents is a great idea, it has worked so well over the last few years. Oh hang on I wonder where all the new chavs and yobs have come from then? Surely they can't have been caused by out of control parents ?
  8. I know a skate whose name is Jim, I really love throwing tomatoes at him, Tomatoes are soft and don't hurt the skin, But these f**kers do, because they're still in the tin

  10. That lost planet Nibiru a.k.a. planet x is coming after all !!! We are all doomed, doomed I tell thee. ;)
  11. Talking of lying I watched an old Top Gear the other day and they had asked people to do a survey about their cars. 90% of people who responded saying that they owned Ferraris were telling fibs according to the licensing authority. I know the Chinese people are lied to quite a lot by their Govt. but I find it a bit strange that the families are saying that the Malaysians are telling lies as some say that their relatives must still be alive. I know that losing a family member is traumatic but I can't understand this reaction.

  13. Do Not click on this link if you are easily upset. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f47/Magz01photos/DoggyWill_zpsc7741eb7.jpg Believe me when I say that the older you get doesn't mean it will get any easier to make "that choice" :(
  14. I will be 100% amazed if anyone says "That is ok Goatboy" The chance of getting such a reply if you posted on the main board is extremely remote but on here in TMS ?:lol:
  15. I just cannot believe the utter rubbish being spouted on here by amateur people thinking that they know more than professionals. I am surprised that these amateurs don't tell the neurosurgeons treating Mr Schumacher where these experts are going wrong. On second thoughts I suppose I should be more surprised with myself for thinking that people would have more sense.
  16. Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott says satellites have picked up objects possibly related to the search for missing Malaysia Airlines jet MH370. Abbott says the Australian Maritime Safety Authority has received credible info of "two objects" located by satellites in the Southern Indian Ocean. The Royal Australian Air Force is sending an aircraft to the scene, while a US Navy commander has told Australia's ABC network that a US aircraft is near the identified area. Abbott cautioned, however, that the task of locating these objects will be extremely difficult and "it may turn out that they are not related to the search for flight MH370." Lets hope he is wrong and that they are part of that aircraft.

  18. Missing plane 'spotted in Maldives' "Witnesses in the Maldives said that they saw a low-flying plane on the day it disappeared in what could be the latest possible sighting of missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. Residents saw a jet with markings similar to a Malaysia Airlines plane flying around Kuda Huvadhoo, a remote Maldives island in Dhaal Atoll, local news site Haveeru Online reported. This coincides with reports that several airport runways were found programmed on the flight simulator at Zaharie Ahmad Shah's home. One of those runways was Male International Airport in the Maldives. According to the report, several locals saw a plane at 6.15am local time on March 8. "I've never seen a jet flying so low over our island before. We've seen seaplanes, but I'm sure that this was not one of those. I could even make out the doors on the plane clearly," a resident said. * "It's not just me either, several other residents have reported seeing the exact same thing. Some people got out of their houses to see what was causing the tremendous noise too." * Not that credible then if they "think" it wasn't a seaplane as lets face it a 777 is a bit larger than an ordinary seaplane.
  19. with that Mr Jonathan Trott then. Jonathan Trott must accept team-mates and opponents will feel he did a runner "I feel a little bit conned we were told Jonathan Trott’s problems in Australia were a stress-related illness he had suffered for years. We were allowed to believe he was struggling with a serious mental health issue and treated him with sensitivity and sympathy. He was obviously not in a great place but he was struggling for cricketing reasons and not mental, and there is a massive difference. There is a danger we are starting to use stress-related illness and depression too quickly as tags for players under pressure. In his interview with Sky Sports he then completely disrespected anybody who has gone through depression and mental illness by using words such as “nutcase” or “crazy”. We have all said things we regret in the media but I find it staggering he is so ill-informed that he used those words". http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/cricket/international/england/10701664/Jonathan-Trott-must-accept-team-mates-and-opponents-will-feel-he-did-a-runner.html

  21. for depicting Germans & Russians as “enemies” :mcinnes: Quote from article:- "You ready for a good head-shaker? Hunted Cow chief Andrew Mullholland just sent me screenshots of the status of Tank Battle: East Front 1942, the followup to the WWII wargame we just reviewed last week. Apple has rejected the game for having Germans and Russians in it. I’m not kidding. We found that your app contains content or features that include people from a specific race, culture, government, corporation, or other real entity as the enemies in the context of the game, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. Specifically, we noticed your app depicts real entity as the enemies. In case you think you’ve read that wrong, I’ll summarise: a World War II-themed game that depicts fighting between two countries that actually fought in WWII breaks the rules. And apparently Drive on Moscow, Panzer Corps, and every single one of Hunted Cow’s other Tank Battle games don’t" http://www.pockettactics.com/news/ios-news/apple-rejects-tank-battle-1942-depicting-germans-russians-enemies/ .
  22. All you seducers of innocent young females beware ! A father has shot dead a teenage boy who he found in his daughter's bedroom in the US overnight. The shooting in the Texas town of Harris County happened in the early hours of Thursday morning. Detectives say the man's 16-year-old daughter let a 17-year-old boy into the house, sneaking him into her bedroom where he went undiscovered until her younger brother went in to say goodnight and saw two feet sticking out from under the bed. The girl's brother alerted his dad, who went in and demanded answers, KHOU reports. The father called 911 after his daughter claimed not to know the 17-year-old. Detectives say the father believed the boy was an intruder and argued with him while on the phone to authorities. http://news.msn.co.nz/worldnews/8814093/man-shoots-dead-teen-boy-in-daughters-room .
  23. That well known publication which is never wrong is saying the engines kept going for 4 hours after contact with aircraft was lost. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2579524/Chinese-satellite-finds-suspected-crash-site-Malaysian-Airlines-flight-370-South-China-Sea-did-three-days-release-them.html Have to say that I am not convinced they are correct but hey ho what do I know.?
  24. A missing woman on vacation in Iceland managed to unwittingly join a search party looking for herself. Toronto Sun reports that a tourist group traveling by bus to the volcanic Eldgja canyon made a pit stop near the canyon park. The woman in question went inside to freshen up and change her clothes at the rest stop, and when she came back “her busmates didn’t recognize her.” Word spread among the group of a missing passenger, and the woman didn’t recognize the description of herself. Next thing you know, a 50-person search party was canvassing the area, and the coast guard was mobilizing to deploy a search party of its own. About 3am, some genius in the group finally figured out that the missing woman was actually in the search party, albeit in different clothes, and the search was called off. http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/216498/woman-accidentally-joins-search-party-looking-for-herself/
