  1. When that "baby Cambridge" pulls faces he reminds me of the "baby" in that old TV prog. "Dinosaurs"
  2. Paul Farbrace has been confirmed as England's new assistant coach after quitting as Sri Lanka head coach. The 46-year-old former Kent wicketkeeper will work under Peter Moores, who was appointed for a second spell in charge of England on Saturday. Farbrace led Sri Lanka to the World Twenty20 title earlier this month. "It's fantastic to be given the opportunity to work with your country's national team and an offer that I could not turn down," he said. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/cricket/27109755 Strange this one to me as an oldie, I don't know what to think about a bloke who walks out so soon, and with very very short notice, after signing a 2 year contract. As I read it the ECB must have approached him whilst he was obviously under that contract. I also read it as though they approached him direct rather than through the Sri Lanka Cricket Board - not Cricket old chap. I now somehow wonder how he will behave IF England don't do very well, will he just walk away before the end of this latest contract if he gets another offer? Mind you I wonder IF anyone will risk having him after how he has just acted I know I wouldn't. .
  3. Here is yet another theory, video is just over 6 minutes long. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=b59_1398202841
  4. In the last 5 years we have had 3 cats put to sleep and it has broken me up every time. We now only have 1 cat left and she is now 12 years old. I can't type any more about them and what has happened in the 7 weeks since Bonnie died as I will just crack up even more. When I was younger I used to think that as I got older the death of a pet wouldn't hit me as hard, well getting older seems to make it even worse it's certainly not easier. :(
  5. Long time ago now I know but I found this bit of history quite interesting. The CIA's National Intelligence Estimate 11-1-67 was handed to President Johnson in March 1967. It shows that the decision makers not only knew about the Russian lunar program, but were quite up to date with the latest Soviet schedule estimates. While their program information was solid, their knowledge of the Soviet launch vehicles and spacecraft under development was less so. This annotated version contrasts the CIA's knowledge of the program with what we now know to be the situation on the Russian side in February 1967. Special thanks to Peter Pesavento for providing the copy of this document, which he was able to have declassified by the LBJ Library back in 1993! http://www.astronautix.com/articles/ciah1967.htm Also have a read of this book:- Two Sides of the Moon: Our Story of the Cold War Space Race Paperback by David Scott (Author), Alexei Leonov (Author), Tom Hanks (Introduction), Neil Armstrong (Foreword) Can be obtained from Amazon, my local NZ library has a copy so yours might as well. .
  6. As much as I would really like Everton to finish 4th and keep Arsenal out I haven't totally forgiven them for past evil deeds against Saints. I think we might just beat them 1-0.
  7. Bah - only wimps who haven't prepared for all those pencil and paper exams need to worry. The only really very scary exam is the medical one which will determine if you will be allowed to continue your career Luckily for me I don't have to worry about any types of exam any more.
  8. To all those who worry that Saints won't spend lots of money in the summer. Just remember this tiny little point:- Ladies just love spending money and Saints are owned by a lady. There you go - move along ,nothing to see here.
  9. England batsman Jonathan Trott has suffered a recurrence of the problems that forced him to leave the Ashes tour and is to take an extended break from cricket. Trott left Australia with what was described at the time as a "stress related illness" by the ECB. Trott hoped a rest before the English domestic season would help relieve what he believed to be burnout. But he has experienced a recurrence of the anxiety and mental exhaustion that he suffered late last year, while representing Warwickshire in recent days. No time-frame has been placed upon his return.
  10. TBF would any of us ever be caught smiling if we were involved as deeply as he is with that lot ?
  11. Maybe to stop other clubs knowing we have lots of money so they raise the asking price of a player Saints want.?
  12. https://mg.mail.yahoo.com/ya/download?mid=2%5f0%5f0%5f1%5f8019123%5fAIpL2kIAAA6gU06HtgAAAGGJTXo&pid=2.11&fid=Inbox&inline=1&appid=YahooMailBasic Can't transfer actual image from an e-mail hence this link
  13. I think that was also the case with Vauxhalls many years ago hence the rapid onset of the rust worm?
  14. No an A380 would have been more filling.
  15. Ah found it at last ( being an oldie I am not so good with computers as you young people )
  16. Err they say the image has been removed ?
  17. We apologize for an inappropriate image recently shared as a link in one of our responses. We’ve removed the tweet and are investigating. So what was the image then ?
  18. I think that you will find that Glasgow doesn't have just one best friend he has hundreds of them.
  19. I wonder IF Mr P. has told the players he is leaving at the end of the season? Steps back and hides
  20. My wife is the very worst passenger that I have ever driven. Far to many examples to post here but all I will add is that I was a professional coach, bus and limo driver and tour guide for many years. Oh yes and as soon as I go into the kitchen to start preparing some food she nearly always appears and gets in the bloody way. I suspect though that I annoy her even more than she lets on
  21. A senior Malaysian government official has revealed that the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) had scrambled search aircraft at 8am on the morning of March 8, soon after Malaysia Airlines had reported that flight MH370 was missing. In a surprising new development, CNN reported today that it was informed by the official that the RMAF search aircraft were scrambled well before authorities had corroborated data indicating that the missing commercial aircraft had turned back westward from its last-known location over the South China Sea. A source involved in the investigation into the missing MAS plane has confirmed this latest information, CNN reported. According to CNN, the source also told them that RMAF did not inform the Department of Civil Aviation nor anyone in the search and rescue operations team until March 11, three days after the aircraft disappeared. http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/rmaf-deployed-search-aircraft-on-march-8-but-did-not-inform-anyone Have to say that IMHO the Malaysians must have lost a lot of "face" with other Asian countries over this whole sad situation.
  22. Surprised some of the ardent capitalists haven't gone for George Soras. Whitey, would you even live a week ? "I'd do the job for a modest salary and a weekly supply of freshly-washed virgins." On a personal level I dislike so called world leaders so wouldn't vote for any of them.
  23. What happened to "leftback" ?
