  1. Our defence is shaky at best. They look a shell of the outfit they were last season. With only one defensive midfielder it makes a bit of sense but even Fonte has been dodgy. We look outmuscled and vulnerable! Pleased with the score at the moment considering the performance. We need to up our game second half big time
  2. Our defence just don't seem to give a ****! It's like they're already on their holidays.
  3. 4th place. Champions League in Southampton would really cement the image of a club capable to challenge at the top, and could be the base for more success in coming seasons, e.g. an FA Cup win.
  4. Too many have the 8-0 scoreline in their heads and not the shaky start to the game. Sunderland's heads were down almost straight after the second, they let us play our stuff and we were surprisingly clinical. Today won't be so easy. I see us sneaking it still but it'll be a tough game, Stoke can be very potent, in the air especially.
  5. I'm reserving judgement on whether we're "on the verge of something special" until we've played a few more of the big boys in the Premier League. Not saying I'm not chuffed with how we're doing at the minute! It's great to see us looking so determined, focused and confident. Koeman's got the boys playing some great stuff and we look like we're never going to throw in the towel during games. Confidence is high at the minute and I'm loving it. But I'm not going to come out and say we're going to finish in the top six, or that we're on the verge of something special, because we haven't had an even spread of fixtures in terms of difficulty.
  6. As of yet we haven't played anyone that is looking a contender for the top 6, bar a special rejuvenation from Liverpool, and even that 'test' was one we lost.
  7. Underhand, disrespectful, completely pointless and juvenile. Whoever is responsible needs a good slap round the chops and to be put in the stocks outside Fratton Park.
  8. Reckon he'll be a flop.
  9. Well it does, actually. It's a pre-contract agreement kinda ting.
  10. Sadly it's not a lot in the football transfer market nowadays.
  11. Considering the fact that Les Reed has been here for a long time, and the 'turmoil' - if you can even call it that - happened this summer, I don't think Les Reed did anything to upset the players.

  13. Geoff Cameron is bang average, why are some fawning over his potential signing?

  15. Indeed, that's the delight with old Jos, you just never know. Keeps you on your toes.
  16. Jos Hooiveld with a last-gasp winner.
  17. Really erudite signing. Happy to welcome Ryan on board, a good player in my eyes.
  18. Actually yeah, you're right. Morgan was just unlucky in that he didn't get sold before the ****e hit the fan. He deserved to move the most, so I can understand his reaction. But if a player wants out, they generally get their way. I look forward to seeing how this plays out.
  19. This is what happens when you say no if a player wants to leave. Some people on saintsweb are so adamant in their ignorance. Was always going to pan out this way after Krueger's statement and previous discussion at St Mary's with Morgan.
  20. We are so submissive. A player wants to leave and they're off. I understand a few but it gets to a certain point where every player will be wanting to jump ship. Who wants to be playing for a club with no ambition that seems to be going backwards in terms of the selling of all of its best players? This is a vicious circle that can't end well for us.
  21. He's under orders from a higher power. It's not his fault.
  22. Liverpool come in for Lovren with any Saints board in charge, be it Cortese run or whatever, the player will want to leave and our hand will be forced. Not the board's fault we can't compete in terms of stature and wages.
  23. Dream, what dream? We're simply too small a club to realistically garner enough support and financial backing to compete with the big boys. We'll have to be content with 7th-8th being our ceiling.
  24. What a prize tw*t. His actions have both reduced the fee we got for him after 14 years of loyalty to the bloke, and shown what an ungrateful, money grabbing bastard he is. Thanks for nothing Adam, Clattenburg was right after all, you bellend.
