Isn't about time the people that write off Rickie after a bad performance learnt their lesson ? He wasn't that poor yesterday, Lallana wasn't exactly setting the world alight either. The only question I would ask with Rickie was with Jay Rod out why oh why didnt he play more through the middle with Lallana and Gaston floating either side......but thats more to do with the manager than Lambert. As for Gaston, I really dont know, he is an enigma, can look really good then can look awful. Produces some lovely touches and passes then can pass straight to the opposition with no pressure on him.

Been here since 1978 and have missed no more than a dozen home games in the 36 years since no matter what division we have been in. Seen a lot of great players in that time and seen a lot of dross as well. Fox comes in the secind category and dont fkin kid yourself that Fox was a major player in our promotion from the Championship ! I dont think Carroll would get away with his bully boy tactics so much with non Premiership refs who seem to blow their whistle at the slightest contact. Rickie can play football, can fill more than just the target man role coming on at the end if a goal is needed, his assist record is fantastic and for that alone it should be a no brainer that he goes. Jay Rod if he continues improving should be a nailed on in four years if we qualify, he will be what 28/29 and in his prime by then.

First Lambert and then Boruc have spoken about MP and the contract he should be given, Boruc even hinting that it will be sooner rather than later. I think if you consider how hush hush the club used to be on this kind of thing all the non too subtle hints coming out (Kruger actually being asked about it in an interview posted on the OS) at present suggest to me anyway that we may get some good news on that front in the next few weeks !

There is no comparison between this squad and the one WGS had. Niemi and Beattie are the only two who would get in, nobody really thinks Oakley and Marsden are better than what we have now......do they ?

Some of the football the team plays under Poch is fantastic, there is no doubt about that. There was a spell in the first half yesterday where Liverpool were on the backfoot big time. It happened against Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal at home as well as away to Man Utd, Liverpool and Everton, all top 6 or 7 teams as you know. The only problem we have is not taking chances, trying to score the perfect goal or just not being ruthless enough in front of goal. Osvaldo was supposed to solve that, it didnt work out. The only difference between us and Liverpool yesterday was the quality of their strikers. The players have improved under him, wether you like it or not its a fact. But primarily they are a young team so they are still learning and developing. The problem with you and others on this board is you want jam tomorrow and it doesnt happen that way. Its not a myth they are playing well. Results dont always reflect performance, thats a fact.

I think we have the Arsenal syndrom of always trying to walk the ball into the net and score the perfect goal. Someone needs to put their foot through the ball but of course the only forward we have capable of that spends most his time either deep or out wide. Rickie has been totally wasted most of this season. He should be through the middle and up front, when all these balls start pinging into the box Lambert is nowhere near.

Only one player booked......Lallana. What a surprise, bet Clattenburg couldnt wait to pull that card out his pocket :-)
