But not totally unexpected with regard to Boro and Brum at least.

Which would be a good time for someone to remind him about the disgraceful winner they scored against Millwall and the dodgy penalties they have won against Notts Forest and us to name but two !
-
Blackpool draw with West Ham would be the best result, failing that I dont want Blackpool winning. 2nd will do ffs, keep that gap to third never mind anything else. We can only contol the controlables as a certain Liverpudlian keeps telling us ;-)

I think Adkins said that Lee is taking English lessons, bound to take a while but even then God only knows what he will make of some of Nigel's little sayings, especially if he repeats that one about consistency from Saturday :-)

Yeah, about that Adam, could you give some evidence of how they were so worried about us going out of business a few years back ? Perhaps the Echo could arrange a collection at St Marys for them at the next home game........ I wonder whatever became of those plans they unveiled about the "floating stadium" near that tower thing they have got down there ? Whoever has them should publish them again, they are sitting on comedy gold.

Press box is in the Itchen I think you mean. Its only the TV gantry in the Kingsland.
-
Just a pity instead of the other guys saying they knew what they were going through, someone didnt just say "what like they did for us you mean ?"
-
I may well be biased but I think when we win the right to play our football in games there is nobody in this League that can touch us. There was a moment in the first half, just in front of where we sit in the Kingsland where the close tight interplay between Lallana, Fox and Morgan was a joy to watch. I think Lee may have earned a starting place next week with Sharp to come on later maybe.
-
But did anybody want them ? If they were wanted and were holding out for big wages then they have really messed up with their wages being deferred to keep the club going.
-
Well I am surprised, but pleased, he's decent back up on the right.
-
I'm not sure thats true, there was still plenty of singing his name on Saturday, the Saints scapegoats dont usually get that sort of treatment. I sincerely hope he wont be driven out.

West Ham 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction
beatlesaint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
I know, I would have half considered Higginbottom as cover....cover being the key word, of course nobody in their right mind would want to replace Jos and Jose. But it seems Saints fans in their right mind are not the ones who text Solent ! -
West Ham 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction

The only one of those points I would even half give a second thought to would be Higginbottom in as cover, but only cover. Im sure half the time, if this is from Solent, its bloody Pompey fans taking the ****, cos if not.....oh dear oh dear. -
Yep big game and with Sam's dodgy penalty specialists not playing a great chance to go back to the top. Now the Saints of old would have blown this chance but not this Saints team.......will they ?
-
I think he will be found lacking if he gets the England job. Wheeler dealers arent particularly suited to international management. He will rely heavily on his coaching staff and I'm sorry but if Kevin Bond ends up sat on the bench at Wembley as Coach to the England team that really will be hard to stomach. Just ask any ex Saints players who worked with him, any fans who saw him stagger out of St Marys after games worse for alcohol, and if you dont believe them take a wander down to Dean Court and ask any of them about his leadership and/or coaching qualities.

Good shout, bloody sure he would go for it.....then he can take over Spurs when Bagpuss takes over England after the Euros.

Realistic Expectations for the rst of the season...
beatlesaint replied to Born In The 80s's topic in The Saints
Coming away from the ground last night a guy in front of me said to his mate "we aren't as good as we think we are". That pretty much sums it up for me (and I'm not talking about last night). We started off like a train and have now levelled out. We are, I think, a good Championship top ten side, maybe a bit more, certainly nothing less than that. We could make the playoffs but I honestly believe that could hinge on the next two home games against Burnley and Derby. If we fail to win either then we will drop like a stone, confidence will become even more fragile than its starting to look now. Hopefully the players will learn from this, if they learn straight away then great it could well be an exciting end to the season. Failing that next season should see a real push for promotion. -
Im pretty sure we wouldnt have bothered with him had Puncheon been welcomed back with open arms a week earlier, like you say where and when is he going to play ?
-
Chaplow is starting.
-
is Fox only suspended for this game, Solent sounded clueless on Saturday as to what game he would miss ?
-
So do I but back to Guly. He is frustrating at times but can be quite brilliant a moment later too. He's unpredictable, so if he or we dont know what he is going to do next how the hell can the opposition. I like him.....but I was amazed to see him come on last night in those conditions.
-
I thought he was our best player against Cardiff, yep he does have a lot more to do to make up for his attitude in the last year but he does deserve some credit for the way he has started. I never wanted him back BUT am more than happy for him to prove me wrong.
-
I agree, hard to judge anyone on yesterdays conditions but against Cardiff I thought he was outstanding. My only concern is that we have seen this before. When he came here he was great for the first 8 games or so then faded badly. I hope it doesnt happen this time for his sake and ours.
-
Bugger, I didnt realise that, I was hoping this would be a good game for him and Rickie to gel.
-
I never voted for the ****. Bloody glad i didnt too.
