It might be alright if we had three good central defenders and at least one who would carry the ball forward with purpose, but we haven’t so it’s pointless.
-
Had he played 80 mins plus I would possibly agree with you. But he was on the pitch for 55 mins and we didn’t exactly go full throttle did we? So no it doesn’t make sense.
-
Leo on the bench 😡

THB is a fraud. He thinks he’s Billy big bollocks, you can tell just by the way he struts around like a peacock. He’s a Championship level defender at best. I could never understand at the time we got him why Vincent Kompany didn’t sign him at Burnley after he helped them get promoted. Now I know why he didn’t !
-
How many times have we seen this? Players put in the extra effort to get a coach a job full time then go back to being shite. It doesn’t just happen at Southampton but we do seem to repeat this policy more than most !
-
This is just totally effin crap
-
Get Stephens off and put an attacking player - Robinson? - on ffs
-
The three central defenders all have their moments as well. So none at the back, no wonder Bazunu looks shite !

Is GK the worst position in this clubs history?
beatlesaint replied to SaintsRoyalty's topic in The Saints
They really were not. You are either quite young or the old brain cells are fading. Niether hold a candle to Shilton, Niemi or Flowers. Davis was awful at his near post and while he was a top Championship keeper he never stepped up to Premier level. -
Seriously? I can’t believe that for a second
-
As I've said before if you have a defence that can, shall we say, have its moments and look awful and panic at the slightest little set back you need a keeper behind them who gives them that bit extra confidence back.........Bazunu is not that keeper.
-
Its interesting that (so far) when TE wants Quarshie in for the extra pace and/or height its Cap'n Jack out of the 3 regular starters that seems to miss out. I'm not complaining mind you !
-
Problem is when you appoint an inexperienced manager who starts off so well you are committing yourself to except and support him through difficult times and more importantly while he is learning how to cope and learn when things don’t go well. This is where we are. Like it or not it’s our reality.

The move has been an absolute disaster for the lad unfortunately
-
That’s the biggest issue, he hasn’t got any better at anything.
-
No urgency whatsoever last 20 mins, that’s appalling
-
I wouldn’t be putting much money on that tbf
-
When does he ever come for crosses?
-
Wood a fkin statue and Bazunu stood in cement ffs !!!
-
For a team who were/are looking at getting straight back up having a keeper with those stats is abysmal. He makes me nervous every time the ball gets within distance of our goal, christ knows how the defence must feel with him behind them !
-
Probably a bit of both.

It is on the players I think. Ok he may send them out to be more cautious and to conserve some energy in these 3 game weeks but bloody hell they are the ones who shrink into their shells and go back to playing all theur football in our defensive third. I cant believe Tonda is asking them to invite pressure on themselves. I think the injuries at present aren't helping with these changes. If you want to take off Fellows for instance and shore up a flank there currently is no recognised right back available. It will be interesting to see when the injuries clear up if we are able to close out games better. Ok he isnt helping himself bringing on Fraser and Aribo but lets remember that early season Wee-man and Robinson were our best players. You have to give him chance to learn, lets not beat him around the head with this no experience guff everytime we dont put in a perfect performance. We have won 7 out of 8 and probably wouldn't have lost the other if Leo hadn't been ill. Thats fantastic given where and what we were ! Even the greatest managers in history were young and had to learn as they went along ya know !
-
I’m afraid the constant introduction of Aribo isn’t doing us any favours.
-
No it’s changing the worst of the three central defenders

I think given his back story with his career from leaving home etc which was written about a few weeks ago the guy is genuinely happy to be here, accepting and giving back the love and probably, football wise if not personally as well, is currently living his best life......and long may it continue.
