I've got to the stage where I fully expect another half decent start, tailing off, opposition start to take control, score, end of game. I think I would be more annoyed however if we play well and win 2 or 3-0 cos the question then will always be "and you couldnt have played like this even six games ago?"

I don’t suppose they will but in order to attract the vast majority of Season ticket holders to renew they should make the deadline as late as possible so fans can see what the club are doing…..or not….to plot an immediate return to the Premier League before parting with their money.

The fact he’s considered our best player and has been for the past couple of seasons only goes to highlight just how far the rest of the team/squad has fallen. Take away the set pieces and what is he? There was a 10-15 min spell in the second half last night when we were really on top that he almost forgot himself and was driving forward. Didn’t last long however. Will be fascinating to see which clubs come in for him. If it’s Newcastle better buy some thermals James, it’ll be cold sat on the bench up there.

Playing him right back is bad enough, left back is a total disaster.

I don’t even blame the inept, passionless players anymore, the finger has to be pointed at the manager who in four must win games in the past 6 weeks, three at home, has gone into the games WITHOUT PLAYING A STRIKER!!!! As soon as you see the team sheet the alarm bells start to ring. But wait, the first 5 minutes Saints look lively, pity there’s no striker to get on the end of this….aah here we go, minute 6 onwards and we are back to no threat, no pace, no passion, no idea. Just waiting for the latest bang average at best team to score….and they do…..game over! Only then does the genius in the polo neck and jacket combo on the touchline decide to introduce a striker!! Whoop effin whoop. Five mins left and said introduced striker scores!!!! Oh no, no he doesn’t, VAR determines the nail on his big toe is offside. Ah well, another dream dashed cos we obviously would have scored another in the 5 mins injury time left…..yeah right Bastards
