  1. I think some of you are so wrong! I had an early HTC on windows mobile. The music player was difficult. There was no app store to buy thousands of apps that work. You did not get a free upgrade of software as it was released. The directory fantastic. All the relevant programs integrate with it. The iPad changes the way I use computers at home. Installing software is a breeze compared with windows. Apple made the tablet work. Windows supports touch screens but they don't embrace it. My PC is only used for work stuff now. The iPod still is bette and more functional than all other MP3 players. iTunes is better functioning than any other music store. I prefer to own a CD. But if you want to buy a track it is revolutionary to try a sample, choose the best version of the song and buy it for 79 or 99p I don't know where Apple is going next. I don't know how with out a change in battery technology you can improve the iPhone. But the team assembled have done a fantastic job. I have great respect for the man and his achievements.
  2. Only 3 points from bottom ! Oh dear
  3. We had 40 guests at reception in a nice hotel in the forest including a cake from Raymond blanc and 2 week honeymoon in Scotland for £3.5k A 20k wedding would push my retirement day back at least 2 years. We had everything we wanted. Invites were only sent to people who you could call on for help one day. Distant relatives were not invited. I have a friend at work who had a 20k "party" on a marriage that lasted 6 months and is still paying it back 3 years later. (with her new husband!)
  4. I have e-mailed NASA with the co-ordinates of Nottarf Krap
  5. my diary states 28th november http://www.accountingweb.co.uk/topic/tax/football-creditor-rule-under-review/500213 It would be great to do a Protest against PFC outside that hearing

  7. with a sh*thouse and new guttering
  8. I think the trip advisor review could be read as written by a compettitor. I keep reading completly untrue reviws about Pilgrims. We go there, we get good all you can eat , we request more starters, extra things like muscles in black bean, extra sauces, they are polite, I have never met the searly staff or the fight on the restraunt floor!. The only "incident" in about 12 big group visits was dropping a bowl of rice and then hillariously vacuming it up into a dyson! We often make an all you can eat last from 1pm-6pm and we are not hastled. TripAdvisor-removes-reviews-trust-sloganhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/article-2036846/TripAdvisor-removes-reviews-trust-slogan-website.html?ito=feeds-newsxml I would also reccomend Water Margin in Baddesley.
  9. It is amazing that they use expensive medicines, expensive equiptment & expensive disposable everything during your stay and then restrict the food budget to 88p a meal. And then have beds blocked by mal-nourished dehydrated OAP'S! I remember the days where you were nagged if you hadn't finished your jug of water! My last stay on hospital I didn't get any food in 3 days. 2 days waiting for my op and a dozy team that left nil by mouth sign up. My first meal arrived just as I was leaving! But food is the foundation of health! How can the budget for food be less than 1 hours charge for parking! Or the coat of the days disposable gloves?
  10. Pompey reveal 3rd new kit. Red and Black...... (mainly red.... Thats representitive of thier financial status!) The Pompey badge is on the red side http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Pompey-Unveil-New-Third-Kit-2529.aspx
  11. @ Turkish If you can't be assed to post the original story how can we find out the reason they have been banned from marching? I suspect that it is because they take a significant amount of policing and London authorities are twitchy about anything that could be a catalyst to a riot and also their overtime budget which is cream crackered. But as I say without the link. Ivan only guess
  12. Rather than put the cat poo in the bin get one of those dog poo compost bins. It's basically a lidded bucket with the bottom cut off. Sink it in the garden and put the poo in there it just never fills up. It bio-degrades and disapears.
  13. Living on 30k single income and paying a student loan is going to be tight. You will end up with a very modest flat. Not eating out much. Not spending too much on holidays. The trick to comfortable living is " duel income no kids" I struggled hard on my own financially on equivalent of25k + overtime. Avoid jobs that expect you to do overtime for free. Travel costs and time are also key. As you earn money 5-6 weeks annual leave and flexibility to take it is also important. A holiday cottage cost £350 in may and £1200 mid season. Working from home! Saves travel cost and time but does that make you work odd hours or liberate you? Also that spare room in your house cost you £50k and work give you £0-1000 allowance.
  14. There are 10 sorts of people in thes world. Those that understand binary. And those that don't! __________ My good lady made me a Blackberry and Apple Crumble last night. It was scrummy. She nearly ruined it. She was going to throw in an HTC!
  15. there are 4? cruise terminals some weekends 9 ships turn around restocking food through this port. The ships carry between 1000 & 3000 passengers each all needing coaches taxis or parking. then there is the Carnival cruise HQ next to Ikea, and loads of them stay at the hotels the night before they sail and eat out in below bar. That is real income for a lot of people.
  16. Bill Bratton aparrently!
  17. it bodes well for a decent sentence when Redknapp faces “an unlimited” jail sentence if he is convicted of “cheating the public revenue” out of £40000
  18. and another thing... what sentence was passed to Ian Tomlinson's killer and how fast was he bought to justice
  19. They are going to let out some violent thugs who committed 200+ crimes
  20. The average cost of a prison place in 2002 was £38753 per year My understanding is that 3000 people will face various charges. If the majority get 2-4 years thats 9000 prison years @ 38753 =£116,25900 thats about 10 secondary schools, or 21,000 people recieving an hour a day home help for a year To a first time offender, a 3 week sentence might/probobly will, put them into thier place. the other 3 years is £10,000 of wasted money
  21. The biggest problem is the day to day use of fixed penalty tickets or cautions for serous crimes. I was puled out of my car by a taxi duriver and kicked in the head giving me concussion. he was cautioned! Attempted breakins are cautioned as vandalisim or criminal damage and given a £75 ticket. the home owner is then lectured and told it is thier fault and they should spend another £500-1000 on security, fences, *****ly plants... etc This grand gesture of 3-4 year sentences is too late. how did this woman get 200 offences and two suspended sentences before getting prison?
  22. The appropriate sentence is the cheapest one that brings a correction in the behavior and the minimal social damage to the offenders family and the community in the long term. Locking up a single mum 3 years as reported yesterday for a stolen pair of shorts for a first offence might put two children into care and create two new problems. equally making a shoplifter pay a £75 fixed penalty ticket is hardly a deterrent if they made 25 £100 thefts before they got caught. Sending someone for a custodial sentence is the ends thier career in many lines of employment. It should not be used as a first option, however no one should get to 10 offences without a short custodial sentence let alone 200.
  23. How much income tax do you want to pay to lock up each scroat for 4 years? £10 a week ?
  24. lets put this in perspective...... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/9196593.Jail_for_woman_who_failed_to_take__golden_opportunity_/ A SERIAL offender has been jailed (60 weeks)after failing to take advantage of a final “golden opportunity” to turn her life around. With convictions for more than 200 offences, a Southampton Crown Court judge was told Kelly Loader is an “exceptional mother”. The 32-year-old had two suspended sentences hanging over her when, six months pregnant, she repeatedly headbutted a security guard at Southampton General Hospital who was trying to detain her after reports she had stolen a purse
  25. Additional drivers gain no claims on one of either direct line or churchill. adding mum to his insurance lowers the premium more than adding dad yaris's are very reliable. cheap to MOT
