Well I watched Winchester City and they lost 2 - 0 so a pretty rubbish day for football to be honest.

The silence from both AP and the club is to protect both of them. My guess is that the club did not have grounds for dismissal on grounds of gross misconduct, but that there were circumstances that meant that from the clubs perspective AP had to go. Nothing to do with results. Any sacking would have meant that the club had to pay up his contract. AP didn't want the facts made public, so they negotiated a compromise agreement. This meant that the cost to the club of getting rid of AP was reduced, but the price was not revealing the reasons for his departure. We won't ever know the details. AP brought some stability to the club after the shambles of the Summer of 2009, but there was clearly something not quite right. Time to move on. Hopefully NA can move the club forward. It would be nice to have a manager that lasted more than a season.
