Players from Hampshire who never played for Saints
Pamplemousse replied to Maggie May's topic in The Saints
Mason Mount -
Hope we win, I'd like us to chase down Leicester if we can.
-
If we beat Fulham and they lose at the weekend then it does give us a bit of an incentive going into that game, but it's unlikely. Would be very, very funny though.
-
Drama Queen!! Coming from you, hilarious
-
They'd be below us if it wasn't for Steve Cooper
-
He's found his level. Ankerson's decision to hire him was a catastrophe.
-
The tactics from Potter was baffling. Took off all their attacking players, Kudus, Bowen etc. which just handed the iniative straight to us. We're bottom of the league, you're 1-0 up, you've got to go for a second goal. Fair play to us for seizing the chance.
-
Having Downes back is a massive plus tbh. We are a far better team with him in it, even Juric realised that eventually, just way too late.
-
One more game we can cross off before most of these players become someone else's problem.
-
The strategy of signing Premier League loan players worked well last time. You would assume teams like Everton, West Ham and Wolves will strengthen and there will be a few players available.
-
I agree, but I do get the impression that things are going to be different. This season has been a bit of an awakening for everyone.
-
Yeah I will because I have nothing better to do on Saturdays. Quite a lot of our games won't be at 3pm on a Saturday because of the EFL TV deal so people should bear that in mind when renewing - expect a lot of 12.30 kick offs.
-
I do agree with manji. SR fucked up. They know it, we know it, everyone knows it. And they've already acted to fix it - Solak taking personal control, Spors coming in and overhauling recruitment, now we need a top class manager (for the Championship). I know this is shit but I am optimistic for next season.
-
He lost the plot towards the end. I won't forget how he blamed the fans for us losing at Aston Villa because we ironically cheered a long ball from the goalkeeper which supposedly encouraged him.
-
Wasn't a 3-0 game. Ref was terrible. Villa a better team than us. We will beat West Ham, Fulham and Leicester.

Mariela Nisotaki - New Head of Talent Acquisition
Pamplemousse replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
One thing that does strike me is that behind the scenes there are a lot of changes, personally changes which we need to make. Sport Republic have been a disaster but if Spors can clean things up and get a consistent structure behind the scenes, it can only be beneficial. I noticed in the finances published for all the teams in the Championship for the previous season that we were way behind our rivals in commerical revenue earned. I thought Parsons was supposed to be sorting this out? -
Last weekend you had us, Bournemouth, Brighton and them all away in London, very strange scheduling.
-
This in red and white would look pretty good

Our fans: loyal and positive, or noddy and soft?
Pamplemousse replied to Midfield_General's topic in The Saints
Exactly. Our owners have already acted - a new technical director, head of recruitment sacked - the two biggest issues, they have already accepted they made a mistake and acted. The players aren't good enough and if they don't try or give up (which they have done on occasions) then they deserve criticism. I didn't see that against Spurs - they were just better than us, as most teams are. -
About 1000 tickets left on the ticket website, so bad news for season ticket holders wanting to put their seats on the ticket exchange
-
Since Ruud came in, yes.
-
Leicester are going well. 2-0 down already.
-
They rested quite a few players on Saturday because of their Champions League tie so expect a weakened team from them again. It'll mean we only lose by one or two rather than five or six.
-
Lampard would be a fine choice as well. And having worked with basket case owners such as at Everton, he'd fit in well here.
