Personally, I think he's been hindered. Firstly, by the Europa League, which historically has always had an effect on teams. Secondly, by the board's failure to a) not sign an additional striker in the summer and b) not sign a defender in January Nevertheless, with this squad, and particularly with the attacking options we've got, we shouldn't be relegated, and I don't think we will. We're only 4 points away from 9th - plenty of time to turn this around. We do need to win at Sunderland though. The team is lacking in confidence obviously and we need to get a good result going into the cup final.

It's a shame that people seem quite happy because they've been proven correct. You sad, sad people.
-
Nothing to do with Puel IMO - board's failure to sign a defender has cost us. I doubt any manager would do much better. Can't blame the manager for players making individual errors.
-
Indeed. I overestimated Stephens. I'm afraid that experiment has failed. Put Bertrand in at CB and McQueen at LB. We'll be doing more attacking than defending at Sunderland I imagine.
-
For those who really think we will go down... Bournemouth are in freefall, as are Leicester, Middlesbrough can't score for toffee, Palace aren't much better, Sunderland are woeful, Hull will probably struggle too. WE WILL NOT BE GOING DOWN THIS SEASON. END OF STORY.
-
The way I see it is that we have a very good manager, he has shown that this season. But the ineptitude of Les Reed and the recruitment department has let him down massively. We won't be going down this season, so let's just calm down.
-
In the predictions league I'm not doing too badly. But you're right. I predicted Liverpool to get to the ELF Cup Final. I'm glad I was wrong I won't be wrong today. Trust the manager, trust the team, and have faith

All of these games this season has definitely had an impact on our season. The Europa League always does. We did lose on Tuesday, so changes were probably what was needed Nevertheless, with fewer games between now and the end of the season, I expect our form will improve and we'll comfortably finish in the top half. 9th or 10th will be our final position I reckon. 8th would be good, but we'll probably need to win at West Brom to do that.

The old Gaston Ramirez song Oooohhhhhh, Gabbiadini Ooooohhhhh, Gabbiadini Or Gabbiadini, wooaahh Gabbiadini, woahhh He comes from Italy He faccking hates Pompey

I can't take all the credit - ALWAYS SFC is pretty reasonable as well. whelk too. We are out there, it's just a vocal minority shouting a load of nonsense and some of us need to counter it with reason.
-
They're not happy at all with the line up.
-
I don't think you can really call Davis or JWP defensive. We will win pretty easily tbh. Just relax a little, Puel knows what he's doing. Have some faith
-
Boufal is given a free role. I doubt he will stay wide on the left, it'll be a fluid front three.
-
After their defensive mishaps on Wednesday, I am glad Puel is going for it. No mercy, get at them early and stick it the back of the net.
-
Looks like I'll be the only sane one in the match day thread then. Still, if we score early then none of the bedwetters will appear anyway
-
With any luck, he'll be playing in the Championship next season
-
We won at Liverpool without VVD, we can win at Wembley without him too. Obviously it'll be a tough ask but it is not a write off. I'd say our defence is still better than Hull's, for example, and they kept them out last night...
-
Here's the views from West Ham fans. They're a happy bunch...
-
We named our strongest possible team for the Liverpool game. We named a reserve team against Arsenal. Our home form has been fine this season, it's on the road where we need to start picking up points.
-
Haha, I like it Pedantry alert, but what you've got is a glossary, not a dictionary
-
You could not be more deluded. We'll still finish in the top half. There is no way we will be involved in any sort of relegation battle.
-
Why ignore the two Liverpool wins? Why don't they count?
-
You're right, but we SHOULD beat them I'm confident that we will. People should have more faith in this team.
-
We'll beat them easily, like we did against Leicester
