  1. As for players, I think our first 11 is strong, but with a few injuries we could be in the sh!t.
  2. Gross guesses... 22k taking an average ticket price of £15 to allow for child/season tickets etc = £7.5m Sell-out v MK Dons JPT = £500k Gate Reciepts from JPT Final = £500k TV Revenue = £500k P*mpey game = £300k Booking Fee for Wembley = £132k ( was it for every ticket? ) Profit from Wembley Coaches = £50k Merchandise £??? Corporate Hospitality £??? Sponsorship £??? Events £??? Concourse Revenue £??? Who knows how much they made, I am speculating, but I honestly don't think there has been significant investment apart from the initial transfer purchases.
  3. We have a decent sized Championship income/revenue though, certainly top half, so we should be able to outbid Championship teams on wages for some players.
  4. With possibly the exception of the initial transfers when Liebherr took over, I would be massively surprised if the accounts show a loss last season, and almost certain we won't run at a loss this season.
  5. Hopefully people will realise now that we are not being bankrolled and running self-sufficient. ( Nothing wrong with that by the way ) I reckon another 2 signings, one soonish and one on deadline day.
  6. I suspect that unless the club sell them through their store and take a profit, you have next to no chance of selling them independantly. The club are now massively protective of the crest etc.
  7. I was thinking that. Fook camping in Aussie, no fookin chance.
  8. I have a new number. I will text you it. Will be in town later, come meet for a 'chat' and a Mojhito xx Anyway, back on topic... YES, I believe that last years scholars have longer names than previous Academy years. Also this summers signings average 9.33 letter surnames... I believe this is a higher average than under Lowe.
  9. Cortese has a policy of buying players with long names now as he looks maximise shirt printing revenue by charging per letter. What a c*nt.
  10. Who the f*ck made you god?
  11. It indicates they are covering their arses, just incase.
  12. I imagine it will be a near first team though. Can't see why not.
  13. holepuncture I shall now be giving the whole Cortese thing a rest, I think I have said more than enough to be able to say " I told you so " as more and more things come out which prove to be sticking 2 fingers up at the supporters. Why do I feel so passionately against Cortese... because the club are treating fans with complete contempt and you have to remember, I spent hours and hours of my own time proving that there are solutions available to the club to allow them to have an installment plan at no cost... yet the club fobbed me off with lies. When the club is going to blatantly lie then there is a problem, one which will only get bigger. ( no doubt someone will come on here and say they are not lies and how do I know... I know because I done ALL the research and explored EVERY avenue ) Many things I can gloss over, but a pet hate is being blatantly lied to and treated like a mug, which is exactly what Cortese has done. I have also heard many many more stories, through staff at the club/connected people/ex-players, reading these forums and through PM's sent to me from various posters bringing my attention to more people Cortese has upset along the way. There is no way I can post everything I have heard, because he WOULD take legal action against me, as he has threatened to do with other fans who dare question his tenureship... and before anyone says " well if they are true, post them " - I am not going to risk going head to head in court with a multi-million pound company. I am genuinely worried about the direction the club is heading... most people want to see Saints winning and competing/winning leagues but it seems the club don't want to welcome the fans along for the ride. Like I said... sit back and wait for more and more drips of bad-management / pr / disrespect for fans / ex-players etc etc over the coming season, by the end of the season, although nobody will admit it, I am absolutely certain that a number of fans will be saying " yeah, DBP was right all along " . If people are prepared to have your trousers pulled down and f*cked by the club enroute to success then that's up to them, it would be nice if people actually empathised with other fans who are not prepared to be ripped off by the club. On a last note, some predictions over the coming month. 1) There will be no explanation for the removal of the Ted Bates Trophy Game. 2) There will be no open fans forum. 3) There will be rises across the board in the concourses. 4) There will be more negative threads on Cortese's bad man-management skills.
  14. Shame as well, because if it wasn't for certain directors making unreasonable demands then we really would have had an owner who I believe would have used SFC as his toy and thrown money left, right and centre at it.
  15. It's called using common sense, I am speculating that we are running self-sufficient now ( when you take out the initial aquisition costs ) , I might be wrong... if I am not then will you come out and say " fair play DBP, you stuck to your guns under a hail of abuse from the Ubers, but you were right " .... nah, didn't think so.
  16. He did approach the club ( or his representatives did ) , although it was never as close to going through as some people suggested. Source - A director of the club at the time.
  17. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1726620,00.html What comments? Is there a link? Above is the interview with Pardew after the Ajax game, no mention of the game being disruptive. And anyway, if that was the case then a simple communication to that effect wouldnt take too much effort. When Pardew was at Charlton he arranged friendlies with Sporting Braga Athletico Bilbao
  18. I am starting to lard-off. I am indeed a bit porky and do chaif sometimes. Ginger people also smell, but I am not ginger. What colour hair should you be?
  19. Over the past few days I have been absolutely stinking like a tramp. I bath at least once a day, alot of the time I shower in the morning and bath in the evening, yet I still stink. I have been trying to diagnose the problem, and I think I have now sourced the route of the problem. I have been having more baths and less showers recently, when I have a bath I like them boiling hot and generally just lie in there and sweat it out, alot of the time I forget to soap the pits up. A simple swap back to showers and cooler baths, whilst concentrating on cleaning the armpits seems to have done the trick, although I also use scented shower gels and shampoo. Tea Tree Mint is my current favourite. Does anyone else have any bathing related stories?
  20. I assume you have also taken the time to comment on the dozens of people that have posted about " Their friend has bought a ticket for the first time " etc ? Looking on this thread, you have nailed your colours firmly on the mast, shouting people down and insisting our first 5 home games this season will attract a higher attendance than the 5 games last season. Willing to put your money where your mouth is?
  21. If they don't give reasons then I think we are entitled to have a pop, certainly not sit back and say " oh, they club havent told us therefore we should shut up until we are told ". Its our 125th year and the year of Mary Bates' death and the club have removed a tribute to our greatest servant. Talk about bad timing and lack of thought... 125th Anniversary celebrations? Don't make me larffff.
  22. This was chosen by his wife as a way of celebrating his life. His wife passed away a few weeks ago, so excuse me if I see it as a bit of a " ahhh, f*ck it, she's dead now so we don't have to do this game anymore " . Poor timing from the club. If they wanted to pull the TBT then during our 125th year and the year of Mrs Bates' death was not the year to do it and shows a complete lack of consideration.
  23. No Ted Bates Trophy then, during the year of his wife, Mrs Southampton FC's death. Very, very dissapointing.
  24. At last... the prestige game we were all looking for during the empty weekend slot on Saturday 24th July. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2093322,00.html
