  1. I was about to say Page 1... wish I had now!
  2. Decent start, some good possession and half an opening or two.
  3. Danny has always done a decent job when called upon so I think this is sensible.
  4. He's just old and senile.
  5. How soon are the Football League likely to announce it? Should be today, shouldn't it?
  6. It's just struck me that the title of this thread is misleading. Should it not be changed? May I suggest simply: Pompey. LOL.
  7. It's more the fact that it's NOT Admin Andy who was the clubs preferred choice. This way, it would appear to be a truly independent administrator who, hopefully, has the bigger picture in mind and not (allegedly) only the interests of Chainrai and co...
  8. I don't think Turkish gives a **** about Cortese either way, he's just looking for a bite...
  9. It is quite big, yeah. Surely someone should be able to come up with a comedy summation of this whole thing?
  10. Is anyone sad enough to do a summary of the key point throughout this whole saga? I for one would appreciate it. There's been so many downs and further downs (no ups, that's for sure) that it's so hard to keep up, and I think it's the kind of thing I'd like to put on my wall at work to keep me motivated.
  11. I *think* that only relates to the Academy / pre-Academy development.
  12. So, in summary, we have: - 2 clear photos showing Taylor's hand on his neck - A clear reaction from his teammates to indicate he's f*cked up - A pretty clear video showing him push him over with a raised hand - The linesman stood right in front of it all, looking directly at it I would be embarrassed to put up a defence for any player who did that.
  13. I can't make it I'm afraid mate, got too much on in the shop.
  14. Sadly not, but I did used to go past on the bus from Hythe regularly and always looked to see who Road Sea were playing as the bus went past the corner of the ground. Was too young to remember much about it... they folded when I was about 10.
  15. It's all on the NFDC planning website, here's all the documents for the original planning application: http://web3.newforest.gov.uk/planningonline/acolnetcgi.gov?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPNAME=Root.PgeDocs&TheSystemkey=173436 I assume you mean these two: Ground floor: http://web3.newforest.gov.uk/images/planningimages/161300_39.pdf First floor: http://web3.newforest.gov.uk/images/planningimages/161300_41.pdf
  16. Interesting option, hadn't thought of that, but eminently possible.
  17. How long before we get a Friday 13th related pun from the OS then? If lose it'll be 'Fright Night' or something... just a good job they don't play at Elm Park anymore or there would be some dodgy Nightmare on Elm Park thing.
  18. Flybe have a 1700 departure from Manchester, gets in to Southampton at 1800... Tweak your work hours a bit and it's possible.
  19. Partly perhaps, but being at Staplewood I would expect it's main use would be for watching videos of previous games and the opposition, not to mention to now infamous debrief... only thing missing is a blue pen for Nige to draw with.
  20. This would've been a good thread but you two have ruined it now.
  21. I have to say, it's quite impressive. I wonder if the club will start doing tours of Staplewood as well as St Mary's?!?
  22. New plans have gone in to develop the facilities on the Academy pitches too: Here's the overall site plan showing new spectator areas on the Academy and 'pre-Academy' (as they call it) pitches, and extension to the building: http://web3.newforest.gov.uk/images/planningimages/201138_14.pdf
  23. So were the other 10!
  24. We all probably think the same. I think I am, you think you are, but we all have different circumstances, commitments, outgoings etc, and these things affect us all differently, that was all I was saying. It's like when the tv news channels tell us how the chancellors budget will affect the 'average household'! That said, I partly agree with your point - the vast majority of people who drink alcohol can do so responsibly and so will be 'punished' by this. But then again, in some respects this probably won't change a lot. If I'm buying alcohol in a supermarket or grocery store, I buy what I like, not what is cheapest, so it won't really affect me that much because what I buy is only on offer once or twice a year. And dare I say it, that's probably going to be true for a lot of 'ordinary' people.
  25. I'm not sure I've ever met an 'ordinary' person, but I do kinda agree with your sentiment. Key thing is to recognise the root causes of a problem, not to try and put a sticking plaster (even if it is a tax-generating sticking plaster) over the symptoms. I guess from their point of view, they think that by putting prices up slightly, it takes alcohol out of reach of some of those who abuse it, but if people want it, people will get it. It's faulty logic at best.
