  1. If I won £80m and someone said I could keep all of it by avoiding £20m of tax I would like to think I'd say no, £60m will do me.
  2. I am not expecting a backlash but definitely have not observed any such thing. Or seen it reported anywhere. Still stand by the view that people want to see one so assume there has been. Of course many are appalled and say so but nothing enough to refer to it as a backlash. That would suggest something has changed in last few years. Would like to see a fatwa put out on them for blasphemy.
  3. I must be used to Twitter 140 characters. Break it down chaps
  4. JK Rowling and Ricky Gervais both mentioned more than happy to pay their share. Greedy fckers like Gary Barlow Chris Moyles and Jimmy Carr make me sick. And builders! And Amazon. And Starbucks. And Vodafone But hey we'd all do it right.
  5. We officially cannot be relegated
  6. Plymouth and Bristol R just gone in front. Accrington goal down unfortuantely

  8. I did say I didn't think there has been a backlash. I know there have been posts about definition. But Molenbeek hideaway and culture suggests not all are appalled.
  9. Chelsea were 4/7 with PP - gift
  10. Promoting anti-terrorism and non-violence? Surely that should be implied in all teachings to children across the world rather than needed and you thinking what a great thing. I like to think my kids weren't taught anything contrary at their LEA schools but you are giving so much credit. You mention things not being black and white. You think kids are ever taught terrorism is a good thing at any school? No, of course not, but the segregation and clearly anti-western liberalism espoused at such schools is not going to lead to anything other than a new generation having a non-acceptance of our way of life. Once you have that as a dogma you clearly have potential for an extremist or two.
  11. You truly believe that school is helping integration? The last line is about out need to want to not see bad things in other cultures so accept what is not acceptable and fear of criticising.
  12. Lawro thinks Long will be struggling to be fit.
  13. Most people would be very concerned but the fact that you feel the last sentence is so positive shows a reflection of so many who probably are just terrified to be perceived as 'racist'. Endemic in our liberal society and as said before what led to Rotheram and others not being investigated fully. You go off at Batman but saying it is mixed bag is ridiculous.
  14. Yes interesting and very odd stance. Same people are quite happy to blame the Jews for conspiracies but would never blame the Sikhs or the Muslims. One could argue quite racist.
  15. Break in the T20 semi so caught up on this thread that has basically amounted to 'oh yes it is' to 'oh no it isn't' Disappointingly no mention of Hopkins, Maidstone or belt buckles
  16. From Charles Moore in The Spectator: The Lahore attacks reflected hatred of Christians. Why must we deny it? You might expect that the murder of Christians would excite particular horror in countries of Christian heritage. Yet almost the opposite seems to be true. Even amid the current slew of Islamist barbarities, the killing of 72 people, 29 of them children, on Easter Day in Lahore, stands out. So does the assault in Yemen in which nuns were murdered and a priest was kidnapped and then, apparently, crucified on Good Friday. But the coverage tends to downplay such stories — there has been much less about Lahore than Brussels, though more than twice as many died — or at least their religious element. The BBC correspondent in Lahore, Shahzheb Jillani, was at pains to emphasise that the victims were not solely Christians but ‘simply Pakistani citizens enjoying a day out in the park with their children’, as if that made it worse. Western European politicians rarely protest about the plight of Christians in Muslim lands or offer to help them. Such Christians are perhaps regarded as a bit of a nuisance in countries Islam dominates. The Jewish experience should warn us how insidious this way of turning the victims into the problem can be. Hatred of Christianity — as of Judaism — is central to the Islamist creed. In our secular societies in the West, we congratulate ourselves on our lack of zeal, and think that if we stay out of religious disputes, the angel of death will not select us. But the events in Brussels are a reminder that studied neutrality makes you weaker, and no safer.
  17. Wouldn't panic - there are only 10 Friday night games so 50/50 chance we don't even have a home game.
  18. You seem to have this persecution complex and assume a gang are gunning for you. You are suggesting Fry isn't fair as he doesn't agree with you and mocks you mercilessly but at no point does he come across as some right wing islamaphobia thug but you are quick to see islamaphobia with people and proclaim endlessly about how moderate you are. I don't deliberately pick on you and welcome your comments but don't make this about good and bad. People do disagree with you. You have gone off on one again here mentioning oil and stuff. And you had a thing for Hopkins no one else. Loathe for me to agree with Sour Mash but I am with him on the backlash thing - it isn't apparent. Of course much of Fleet St has and agenda but Beeb and Guardian not so much, and an opposing one, respectively.
  19. Yep was thinking same thing. Everything needs to be seen through Saints perspective
  20. Yeah although TBH not too controversial. Bet he is glad he is out of it How bad is Long?
