What is your point? No clubs can attract better players unless they pay more and this is part of their progression. Wages attract footballers and always has. Man City and Chelsea did this when they first acquired their sugar daddy and now can draw for reasons of being more successful but those same 'mercenaries' played their part in making them successful.

Suggest you are in a massive minority and I consider myself old school who still love the cups. Riches and exposure (if we won the qualifying round) woudl be incredible although I am being hypothetical as do not think it is realistic.

I was not happy with approach to League cup but would definitely swap a victory in that for 4th which would mean a European adventure.

Was he slammed though? Problem with any footballer on Twitter is that they get slaughtered by fans of other clubs whatever they post regardless of content. As someone said earlier amazing they stick with it. Media just trawl Twitter for stories and most of time hardly worth an eyebrow being raised.
