  1. I said that presser was going to be tasty... Sounded like a load of codswallop from Senor Pochettino. Why, for example, was Kelvin better for that team on that day than Artur ?
  2. Yep, superb post. Exactly the reason I gambled and came back to Soton from Austria for the 2003 final....
  3. Gashy has been called up to play for Uruguay against Austria in Klagenfurt on 05.03. 30mins away, might go and have a sniff around.
  4. Two more items that dont fit with "Blame the players, not the manager" : 1. MoPo doesnt do the media relating to the FA Cup 2. Lallanas substitution
  5. This summer : Potentially change-of-hands Likely change of manager Much more significant outs than ins Next season - bottom 3rd of table.
  6. For 2014, read 2004 or 1994. Absolutely delighted with the progress / lessons learned.
  7. Really dont get the "Blame the players, not the manager" brigade. The team were clearly not up for this game, whatever the minutae of the 11 players picked is. The players that came in didnt feel the desire to stake a claim to a regular starting place, those remaining werent pumped up that they were good enough even with the changes. Shoddy, poor preparation. Manager didnt give a sh*t about the game. End of. And I cannot think of a worse "get back on the bike" fixture to follow this up than an away match at WHU with Clattenburg refereeeing. We are on the cusp of another slump in form.
  8. No, not really. Fairly ambivalent, in fact. The seasons over. Our results will now peter out. And come the summer there will be a lot of familiar faces heading for the exit. We've peaked. Will remember that in November we were playing for top spot with a lot of nostalgia, whatever is thrown at us next season..
  9. It appears that only applies if you are a PL team hailing from the North West, North East or within the boundaries of the M25...
  10. Amazing. I would have said 180deg opposite.
  11. Or bring back the stripes. Our fans are simple folk.
  12. The decision to appoint Clattenburg to officiate this game means we've lost it, so here is a case where I would fully endorse MoPo swapping 6 key players for journeymen. Allardyce will have the WHU players going in at a hundred miles an hour, occasionally with 2 feet, and a Saints red card is clearly going to happen. Amusing that Clattenburg is kept away from Everton for years and we get him again in weeks. Speaks volumes for our standing in the game in this country.
  13. He still has to come back in front of them at some point.
  14. This weeks' pre-match presser should be a bit tasty if the media get wind at how p*ssed we are and labour the point.
  15. Looking forward to perusing the guff that the Clappies come out with
  16. Troll.
  17. The theory fits events, but I also contend that it is unlikely that the contents of MoPos contract are half-in the public domain........
  18. Good post, Wes.
  19. Whose fault is it that the players (especially the non-regulars) couldnt be bothered and werent up for it. No, sorry, the message must have come down from on high that this game was unimportant, perhaps even a nuisance.
  20. Yep. The job of the manager is to win the next game. Its as smple as that. MP picked a poor team with many changes, and didnt seem to get the preparation right. Very, very poor. Or deliberate.
  21. You know all this for a fact, do you ? I personally think the club had bigger issues to deal with in January than transfers, like, oh, let me remember, the CEO leaving ? Your comment is an opinion. And your patronising tone doesnt help to get that opinion accepted by a wider audience.
  22. I agree, if its going to cost us our PL place. I would rather we won the cup, qualified and made a fist of the PL and the Europa Cup, to be honest. But we need the squad to do it. And after the January window, uncertain ownership and funding, and all the transfer (out) rumours for next summer, I dont think it will be possible
  23. At the moment. You have no idea whats going to happen over the next year, especially over the summer. And the highlighted part is being to sound pathetic. Manyoo are not the team they were now Ferguson has gone.
  24. Even I was feeling excited back in November. Now I feel like we are back in the Alan Ball management years. Figthing to keep our head above water in the PL, depending on a couple of players staying with us because we probably cant attract decent signings ( we dont know if we have any money anymore), sod the other competitions.
