  1. Yes, but we'll never know, will we ? Succeeding in bringing the money is isnt the minor detail you are making it out to be; NC managed it, Lowe didnt. And being a hard-arsed over expensive business transactions goes with the territory; the mess Lowe made of SFC did a lot more damage to local business when we went into admin than NC has. I seem to recall NC and ML paid off a load of the debts left to local businesses from his last reign. BTW, I did meet him over the summer. Only for a brief exchange of words, however.
  2. I am sure there are other more convincing arguments that could tip the balance of my opinion the other way, Jonny. I just think Duncs contribution a bit lame, and anyone who doesnt think that NCs effect on the club, on balance, was massively positive, is a schmuck.
  3. Have to say, and continuing the ejaculation analogy, 50K is utter chickensh*t compared to how much he squeezed the collective balls at Arsenal over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Disappointing argument that actually makes me sympathise more with NC.
  4. Is Agent Orange still at Coventry ??
  5. This one is my favourite.
  6. Yes, but she must have known the consequences of taking over as chairman at the same time as NC left, she should have had a new CEO identified as the public face in time. Though I accept to some degree NC has forced the timing of events, she has had his notice period to sound out candidates.
  7. Supersonic has a superb bombastic riff (I saw their first TV performance on that C4 Friday night Terry Christian programme), but the lyrics are gibberish strung together because the words rhyme.
  8. Just like we hadnt seen the last of Looopy Wooopy, I doubt we've seen the last of NC. But I dont see why that fills some with fear if it happens. He turned this club around. After todays Independent article, and until we start seeing a player exodus, I am willing to wait and let nature take its course..
  9. Have there really been a lot of vicious comments about her ? I hadnt noticed many. She kept the dream going for 3 years without interfering and whilst still dipping her hand in her pocket, so I was always willing to give her a chance (though with some trepidation due to her apparent lack of interest)
  10. Without a doubt, this is the most reassuring article posted on events yet..
  11. This is good news; she might not have kept her man, but at least she recognises the importance of good leadership being directly related to keeping the value of he asset as high as possible until an optimal opportunity to sell comes along.
  12. Hmm one thing about the Germanic mentality should be considered here - when they want to sell something, they come up with their own valuation (usually astronomically high) and wont budge from it, despite a contradictory consentual valuation (lower). Buying a used car in Austria and Germany is crazy; none of that "drive a new car off the forecourt and lose the VAT immediately" notion here. I've seen 2 year old cars (near end of warranty) with 30,000-40,000 km on the clock being sold for 2 grand under the new price.
  13. Apparently that is a ridiculous assertion to make
  14. Yeah, heaven forbid they actually put in some performances to justify the price tags...
  15. Have to agree; I dont see her running the club for long..
  16. and we get our stripes back,eh ?
  17. I doubt he will take it. I expect Perez to do it.
  18. I Dont Worry About It - The Meteors
  19. I see 5 years later you are still a Lowe Luvvie.
  20. Seems to fit with his having worked his notice at SFC. As soon as he fell out with KL, he tendered his notice, but was immediately removed from decision making at MALI. So she has known about this for so long, I am expecting an appointment to be made in days, if not hours. I am really not happy if this "starting the search for a new exec chairman" stuff is true. Whats Agent Orange doing nowadays ?
  21. I'm guessing we know now why MoPo cancelled his English lessons. Very fearful of the outcome, especially now it looks like like Rickie is on his way.
  22. My thoughts too. Thats why I think part of the blame lies with Osvaldo and Ramirez.
  23. This thread says it all about our fans and why this club will never be "big". Being above Pompey in the league tables and wearing stripes - thats all that matters
  24. And I think its naiive to think the people surrounding her are "football people" rather than financial advisors.
