  1. Good summary. Enjoyable read.
  2. Some of you wringing your hands and worrying seem to forget that our chairman is now Nicola Cortese, and not Rupert Lowe. Cortese BINNED enquiries about AO-C in January without responding. I have complete trust in him that should he sell someone, he will be adequately replaced and that the replacement will be lined up for the same time as the exit. Have we sold ANYBODY of ability and value under Cortese ? I think not.
  3. When was the last time any team P15 W13 D1 L1, let alone us ? Not even NickG predicted a run like this for us, and he's barking mad.
  4. I know, but the two together represented the worst slump of the season (excluding the proverbial cr*p start).
  5. Well, we did have Notts County and Walsall together. Seem to recall it took ages to regain that league position.
  6. Not been around much since the Plymouth game ? There has been a constant undercurrent of snide comments and dredging up old threads since then, mostly coming from this particular poster. I reckon its attention-seeking, plain and simple. Something to pity as much as ridicule.
  7. Hopefully it means the pre-season will be more focused than that cluster f**k from last year and the infamous "Saints have got no CBs against Crystal Palace thanks to Burley" season
  8. Jeez, the season starts early. In past years I've usually come to the UK in the middle 2 weeks of August and caught the last friendly game or the first league game in the 2nd week.
  9. Why should their reaction conform to your expectations ? Its down to the individual to response in these cases as they see fit, just as everyone is allowed to celebrate promotion in their own way. Agree with the occasional kick in the arse theory, but it doesnt always work and could be the opening of a serious slump in form. Look at Bournemouth. Considering the impact of those games in thier immediate aftermath is exceedingly difficult. Being p*ssed off at a defeat and having to consider it at all, and ranting about that, isnt difficult...
  10. Yep, just about covers it...
  11. There is always something a bit saddo about a person who quotes themself...
  12. It was a fantastic run, probably the best the club has ever achieved. It is also important to note that if we hadnt achieved this run, we probably wouldnt have been promoted, therefore the flack that some are getting for being pessimistic about our chances back around the time of the Walsall away game is completely unfair, since no-one could have predicted this run. Credit also has to go to Huddersfield for making us work for it in a way no-one would have expected; it was almost the worst-case for us, from the perspective of 10 games remaining. This thread is also an exercise in stating the bleedin obvious.
  13. Superb post. I note with interest that NickG is finally being sussed out on here.
  14. Indeed; I am disappointed at the score-settling going on around here since the Plymouth game.
  15. Daren, that's crap. I have never bumped a 3-month old thread, simply because I cant be bothered finding them. If I am feeling particulary indignant at the abuse I receive, I might go down the first page of thread titles, but even them its seldom. Usually if I am wrong, its good news for the club, so I am usually happy to let bygones be bygones. I will admit to reminding someone of a particular incident of abuse for an expressed opinion, with a barbed comment, once-in-a-while.
  16. And the point of this post is what exactly ?
  17. The conceited and smugness from Saint Bobby after-the-fact is absolutely hillarious (the pure abuse from Red and White Army of no surprise whatsoever...). Really. Looking back when all the results are in and sneering is priceless. It only needed one result to be flipped and we would have needed 25 points, which is a damned sight closer to 28 than 20. Nobody was expecting Brighton to lose to us. Huddersfield might have played differently yesterday if there was still something to fight for, and not already condemned to 3 more games. As far as I am concerned, the fact is we needed more than 20, which was always over-optimisitic lunacy. The fact that NA and the team played until the last match confirms this. Exactly how many points were required above 20 is for me still a cause for debate. But, hey-ho, Saint Bobby can continue to sneer and gimp on about bookies and spread betting odds if he really wants to, but with someone who has never placed a bet in his life and finds the whole exercise somewhat sad, he really is missing the target.
  18. Would be nice to get sniff of a few dates in the next week or so before everyone disappears. Would show the pre-season intent is right this year, compared to last summer's debacle.
  19. Indeed, well said SOGGY, and something I have been banging on since my CB Watch threads back in 2007.
  20. At least I am not suffering from your sad little insecurity complex......
  21. So what ? This site has become obsessed with petty points-scoring in the last couple of days, sod the fact we gonna be promoted.
  22. Why ? NO means NO, not "Try again later". The way the EU bullied Eire into another referendum into the Lisbon Treaty within a couple of years of a "NO" vote was nothing less than an effrontery to democracy. If I had been there or bother to arrange a postal vote, I would have voted NO.
