  1. Is there a reason why only Maddison has been cut now, with the final squad not being confirmed until this weekend? Seems a bit odd to announce this separately from the other six.
  2. He won’t. If West Ham really want rid of him they’ll almost certainly have to subsidise his wages somewhere. You’d have to be mental to offer Ings a £100kpw contract in his current state and I can only think of two clubs who’d do it. Everton, who’re fighting off the financial vultures already, and West Ham, who already own him.
  3. We’re going to need to do a fair bit better than that to stay up. Che is a very limited PL player and Delap scored 8 goals in the Championship. Nobody is going to pay £35m for Broja or £100kpw to Ings, especially not us. I’d say halve both of those numbers and it’d be more realistic.
  4. Valery was accused of some pretty horrible stuff, which I wont repeat, by a woman on Twitter. If you know you know, but it was pretty unpleasant, never proven and best not dragged up again. The Ranger fraud stuff was just mental. Mainly because you'd have to be some sort of Oxbridge graduate accountant/hacker to have had any chance of pulling it off and that bloke is thicker than a whale sandwhich.
  5. Charlie Austin - That performance against Fulham.
  6. It's the transfer window, we're obviously going to be looking to replace him and to put it bluntly I don't want either Stu or Lallana in the squad next season. We can't be sentimental if we want to stay up and decent Championship players aren't going to cut the mustard.
  7. No, most people will vote in accordance with their own preconceived biases and the swing voters who fall outside of that have probably long since made up their mind already (most likely on the side of Labour). I’d put myself in the latter category, nothing Sunak says in the next month is going to convince me that I want another five years of Tory rule.
  8. Over 20 police officers brought in to investigate apparently. Her milkshake brings all the boys to Scotland Yard.
  9. Can't really tell much from the woman in the red dress, that's just generic Instagram face. You pretty much just click a button and every woman on there looks like that. She appears to have the same bracelet on her right hand, although that's hardly conclusive.
  10. What's our best hair XI? I'd start at the back with Gazzaniga. Lovren's probably in there, so are Stu, Anders and Pelle, obviously. Licka maybe....
  11. I'm hoping what we've offered is a one year extension on modest terms, as back up to a hopefully much more capable number one. The logic being that Baz wont feature at all for the first six months at least and we want someone better than Lis on the bench. If we're trying to keep him to start PL games... Christ.
  12. Been a decent player for us for a few years, wish him all the best with whatever he does next. Being pragmatic though, we’re going to need some much better, fitter players next season to avoid going straight back down.
  13. So you can’t imagine someone being an immature idiot, chucking a milkshake at a politician she doesn’t like?
  14. I can’t say that someone standing in a free, democratic election being physically harassed in public is something we should particularly celebrate. I’d rather we left that to the Russians, personally. Plus it’s totally counterproductive, Farage will basically just say, "oh look, the tolerant left are at it again," and his popularity will probably step up another notch.
  15. We lost as many games as we won and we only beat Tunisia, Panama and Sweden. Fair play for finally winning a shootout but we still only got a draw against Colombia. For all the ifs and buts against France in Qatar, when push game to shove we didn’t win. Again. The biggest nation we’ve beaten at a major tournament under Southgate was Germany in 2021, and they were somewhat mediocre in that tournament; scraping through their group after a late equaliser against Hungary.

I guess people having barbeques during lockdown are the modern day Che Guevara.
  17. We aren't reliant on any of those three, they get try outs in friendlies but ultimately are unlikely to be in the team come the Euros. We should have done an awful lot better in the 2004-2008 period with the players we had but that doesn't change the fact that Southgate has underachieved with this lot. Beaten by the first decent team we face in every tournament.
  18. Nutty Tiss chat can be found in the Lounge, should anyone want to discuss the Martian salamander people and pidgeon surveillance units.
  19. Previous managers have been reliant on the likes of Trevor Sinclair, Emile Heskey and Darius Vassell. Southgate is getting similar results despite having Kane, Palmer, Grealish, Saka, Foden, Bellingham, Maddison, Eze, Watkins and Toney to choose from.
  20. He's only ever done that once, his second best goal return in a PL season is 12. He's had form and fitness issues his whole career, that's why he was in and out of the side at West Ham and Villa. Since we sold him his scoring return has been 7-6-2-1, if he hadn't played for us before nobody would want him here.
  21. He wanted to go back to Spain and ended up at the newly promoted playoff winners, in a league which is much warmer and less intense than the PL. He did well enough there to get a move to Barca where he mostly plays as a second half sub, good for him. He left us and did well abroad, much like Tadic, Fonte and Juanmi. 30 games for Girona doesn't prove anything in the context of his Saints career. Elyounoussi scored 14 goals from midfield last season, were we wrong to let him go? None of which is relevant to Stu who looked well past his best in the PL last time and struggles to play 90 minutes a league below. We're going to need to be a bit ruthless this summer.
  22. We nearly lost that on a fair play decision 😆 What a game though, I thought we’d never do it when we were just knocking singles in those middle overs. Obviously playing Gubbo was a necessity but I can’t see Organ really doing a lot more in a T20. Good to see Wood having a decent game for a change, some very suspect bowling from Turner and Neser at the start though.
  23. Nothing you can say will change what I saw from him on the pitch in his last season here. He was a spent force in the PL, he moved to Barcelona to make 20 mins sub appearances in the sunshine. As for Stu, I’m adding him to the list of players everyone seems to have forgotten was substandard when we got relegated, with 20-odd points, a year ago.
  24. Where he is almost always a sub, brought on with 20 minutes left of games Barca are winning 90% of the time. He’s the Iberian Johnny Evans.
  25. Disagree, he looked spent last time out in the PL and hasn’t been the same player since he got Covid in early 2021.
