  1. With the departure of Kammy and Jeff, the final crumbs of entertainment have been swept away. When it was Jeff, Tiss, Thomo, Merse, Kammyand Charlie it was nigh on unmissable TV for me. Now it’s just another bland, generic panel show, unironically pretending to be diverse.
  2. They must have CGI’d in all these immediate goal celebrations last season then.
  3. I never knew bulldogs had square holes or enjoyed pegging.
  4. How long until someone says, “we don’t need VAR, we just need refs to do their job FFS!” As if they never saw this coming.
  5. This argument just doesn’t make any sense. If it were true, Plymouth’s Michael Cooper could replace De Gea at United. Strikers are quite obviously worse in this league and so are their shots.
  6. 1-1 They start strongly with the crowd behind them but we grow into the game and nick a scrappy, second half equaliser.
  7. In the same way that I believe Baz was better in the PL than Kelvin, so was Stephens compared to Hooiveld. With that in mind, I think he’ll do alright this season. Him and Bednarek were always the two CBs most likely to stay and we need some continuity.
  8. Okay, enough of the ‘Circle of Trust’ stuff please. The first 73 posts this week were side-splitting hilarious but now it’s starting to get tedious.
  9. Not necessarily. Even ignoring the players out of contract, we’ve still managed to offload Orsic, Salisu, Lis and DCC. Cant say I’m sad about that. There’re only really four players I’d care about losing anyway.
  10. These look properly decent. As a slight aside, does anyone know if you can park free at the stadium, if you’re using the shop on non match days?
  11. All you’re really saying there is, "with hindsight it’d be better if Chelsea agreed to a bunch of stuff which entitled them to much less money." You don’t get the best players from Chelsea and Man City’s academies without making serious compromises on sell on clauses. These clubs aren’t stupid, they know full well their best talent could be worth £60m plus in a couple of years, they aren’t going to forfeit that for the price of Haaland’s wristwatch.
  12. You’d rather we didn’t sign him at all?
  13. We’re not going to win every game this season, all our players are going to cost us points along the way. There will be games when the forward players can’t fashion a single goal in 90+ minutes and there will be games where our defenders make mistakes and we don’t keep a clean sheet.
  14. We’ve supposedly made around £60m from Salisu, Tino and a loan fee for DCC. If we add in Lavia and JWP it won’t be far short of £150m. Ive no idea why you feel sorry for Tella, unlike Tino, he’s never done anything in the Premier League. There’s nothing at all stopping Newcastle buying Tella for £40m, other than the fact that he simply isn’t that good.
  15. Nobody in this league has a better reserve RB than Bree, I'd bet three Lion Bars and some Clubcard points on that.
  16. The best part of this is it sends a message, loud and clear that West Ham can f**k right off with their £25m. If they think we’re selling our captain for less than a RB with fitness issues, they can think again.
  17. That’s the definition of a valuation, the price you’re willing to sell at. I’m quite happy with this deal, on the face of it. £32m rising to £40m for a RB, when we have three who should all be excellent at this level is a no brainier. It’ll literally be of zero detriment to the squad, nobody else in the Championship has KWP and Bree to chose from.
  18. By three different managers, which should tell you something. TBH honest, he just seems like a defensive version of Orsic; we thought he might be able to do a job for a relatively low fee but in the end nobody really had any confidence in him.
  19. A €3m loan fee for a player like that for a season is not unheard of and not an enormous loss really. I’m just glad he’s gone personally, I’ll always remember him for getting completely mugged off by a struggling League 2 striker (and the bizarre attempts to defend his actions by a few). One day his tombstone shall read, "Here lies Duje Caleta Car. So good they brought back Bednarek."
  20. A player is only ever worth what someone is willing to pay for him, which I believe will be around £40-50m when all add ons are included.
  21. These days £20m buys a decent Championship player and £30m buys someone fairly decent from Austria or Belgium. JWP has been playing PL football for a decade and is one of the worlds best free kick takers. He also counts towards the quota of home grown players and is always fit. If Wan Bissaka is £50m, Maguire is £80m and Rice is over £100m then JWP is easily worth £40m.
  22. No idea what that’s supposed to mean, sorry.
  23. Why would we need to compromise ourselves with any of that. JWP has a contract with Saints, if someone wants to buy that out they’ll have to pay what we’re asking. I couldn’t care less if that’s West Ham, Pompey or Slovan Liberec.
  24. So? What do you want, a medal?
  25. Unlike the bloke he was supposed to be marking.
