He was Pompey's player of the season and for the most part he has been absolutely fine this season. Anyone playing in the Championship is going to make a fair share of mistakes, goalkeepers included. I've seen plenty of goals against other teams this season which Baz would have been absolutely slaughtered for, against keepers who fans have been absolutely raving about.

Alcaraz has been consistently poor this season and Rothwell has already matched his contribution with the two goals against udders. I don't know where you're dreaming up that stuff about selling KWP. We didn't in summer, we didn't in January and the only two players we did let go were contributing very little.

I think we were trying to play in field more because sticking crosses in to their 6ft 14in CB, Cooper, was never going to yield much fruit.

The Mary Rose, The Titanic or the Exxon Valdez?

First half I thought we generally looked decent enough, even though we went in behind. Looked like crap keeping for their first goal, the penalty I didn’t get a good view of from the Northam/Kingsland corner. I thought Manning should have started, or at least been on for JS at half time. It’s Millwall at home, if ever there was a game for an attack minded, weaker defensively player, it’s this one. Losing Fraser was obviously a big blow, this was a game where players like Edozie and Sully just didn’t have space to run into. I wouldn’t have made the Adams - AA sub either, if anything I’d have brought on Mara for Adams and AA for Brooks, who was very quiet. Smallbone and Rothwell both looked sh*t to me too. Second half we just completely ran out of ideas and the little incident down by the corner flag at the end clearly showed their heads had gone. THB managed to talk himself into an utterly pointless booking and KWP was lucky not to get a brainless sending off, smacking the ball at a player lying on the ground. With Hull result, Leeds beating Leicester and today, that’s basically a 9 point shift in the automatic promotion race inside 4 days. Pretty s**t week all round.

Surely that’s a red if it’s not a pen.

The coverage tonight is brilliant, I can barely hear Hinchcliffe.

Ben McD confirmed as back for the Blast. Good news IMO, like him as an opener. Hopefully this year we'll have a bit more in the middle order, if Orr replaces Whiteley.

Not the brightest idea on a runway the length of a bowling alley.

This seems to be the go to quote for any player over 35 who’s not a violent sex offender. I’ve no idea what it means or what he’s supposed to add to the squad. Anyway, Bertrand is crocked and would be worse than Manning if he ever got on the pitch.

Does anyone of a Police/traffic persuasion know why they’d close 9-7 westbound for an accident near junction 5? 7-5 is still closed because of an unsafe gantry but the rest doesn’t seem to make much sense.

I really want some creamed scones now.

David Norris. I felt my soul leave my body.

So in the space of one, single defeat you’ve gone from wanting Leeds to win, so we can catch a team 11 points above us, to, "it’s all over, we can’t possibly catch a team 2 points above us."

Alcaraz was poor all season and never looked suited anywhere in this team. We’ve got plenty of CM talent, we just need to find the right combination.

I think we need to give our boys some McVities Gold Bars at HT.

He’s supposed to be on the bench, he’s just out of position.

The song, or actually shoving Mini Cheddars up your arse?
-
Surely just, “you can stick your Mini Cheddars up your arse!”

It would have been a completely different game, you can’t just say we’d have definitely won, it’s nonsense. Fonte and Virgil played together under Puel in defeats against United, Chelsea, Arsenal and even the mighty Hull City, amongst several others. They were by no means infallible.
-
If you need the best defender in the world in order to keep your job then you probably aren’t a very good manager. More to the point, we played United earlier in the season, with Fonte and Virgil, and lost very comfortably 2-0. I’ve no idea where this idea of being ‘certain’ we’d have won the Cup comes from but it isn’t true and even with those two defenders, United would have been massive favourites. Whoever our manager was would’ve needed to cope with life after VvD/JF so if Puel couldn’t handle that then there was no point in keeping him.

Third behind Comet for me, although TBH I’m in no position to say no to any of them, even the original cast from 1992.

Perhaps they mean tonight.

The only ‘advice’ I want from him is Diamond’s phone number.
