Mmmmm…. Wasn’t really a joke, or the point I was making.

I’d be surprised if they didn’t have plenty more modelling photos from across the squad, for just such an eventuality. Whilst he’s our player, and none of them are guaranteed to stay anyway, I think it’d be idiotic NOT to use our go-to poster boy. It’d only fuel speculation about his future.

I don’t hate the design but I do think the striped half will just blur into pink from any kind of distance, for anyone who’s not a Tawny Owl or Osprey. Also, as usual, the sponsor logo looks like a naff sticker someone printed out at home.

TBH I’m quite happy with all the Saudi sports washing. Being corrupted by western capitalism is quite an improvement on being corrupted by bronze age religious fundamentalism.

What mug would bet on Hampshire?! 🤣🤣

There’re around 2,600 billionaires in the world according to Forbes, it’s astonishing to think that nearly a quarter of them made their fortune selling disposable surgical masks. There was me thinking most of them got rich from oil, telecoms, automobiles, engineering, software, energy, manufacturing, transport, banking, foodstuffs, online shopping, marketing, fashion, cosmetics, tourism, construction aerospace, military hardware and other industries best served by a free flowing and unrestricted economy but no; I was wrong. Like a sheep I have been misled, disposable surgical masks are where the world big bucks really are.

No, Spurs got their pants pulled down by Newcastle. That has no bearing on any of our transfer dealings.

Because our top first team players can go to mediocre Premier League teams for a moderate pay rise. If anything our younger players will have a better chance at first team football now that we’ve been relegated, as the calibre of player they’ll need to displace will be lower.
-
People always forget two things when they bring this up: Transfer fees have gone up enormously since then. The year before we sold Mané, City bought KDB for a shade over £50m, having been tearing it up for Wolfsburg in Europe, and the general consensus at the time was that he was overpriced. Mané was inconsistent for us and only really looked like the player he became at Liverpool for the last 8-10 games. Before that he disappeared in both winters he played for us. The £34-38m touted was a fair price at the time.

True enough, they did all get to their last year but I believe we still made a profit on all three, or at least broke even. Clyne we bought in similar circumstances IIRC, seems he made a bit of a habit of playing contract chicken.

Not really, I can only think of Hojbjerg and Wanyama who we’ve really had to let go below market value because of that. There might be one or two others but we’re no worse than any other club.

You could write that about anyone who’s ever taken drugs, driven whilst drunk, without a seatbelt, done 130 on a motorway, had a fag in a petrol station, run a level crossing before the barriers came down or a million other daft things people have done with a much higher fatality rate than COVID. For someone who started off by saying, “let’s all just be logical for a moment,” you’ve posted an absolutely nonsense argument.

I think what it ultimately comes down to is what we were predicting we’d get from Puel the following season, rather than what he had achieved the season he’d just managed. It’s all well and good saying he lost VvD and Fonte in the second half of the season but if that’s the future, then you’ve got to live with that. The season ended a little bit Selles, setting up for a 0-0 against sh*te teams, and if we’d carried on like that we’d have struggled every bit as much as we did under MoPe and Hughes the following year.

On the up side, looks like we’re getting an Ashes test in 2027.

So you’re saying it’s a #7 thing? Tomasz Hajto - Birds aren’t real Kevin Phillips - Bought an abducted child from Wayfair Andrei Kanchelskis - Chemtrails

We’ve all figured out that car salesmen are bullsh*tters. What we don’t do is think we’re special for figuring this out and waste our lives trying to source a used Audi from the local taxidermist.
-
That’s just unhinged ranting, I can’t help you there, sorry. Here’s an example of his lunacy, it’ll have to do, I have no more time to waste on the cretin.

Nobody believes everything we’re told by western governments, or the media, that simply isn’t true. Neither is the idea that Russia has greater military output than Ukraine supported by the west. They’re burning through 50 year old Cold War tanks, their precision bombing is as accurate as a fairly good 1944 Lancaster raid.
-
Why would he be? As badger said, he's a compulsive liar and an absolute nutjob. Nobody is dismissing the idea that Ukraine has had a bad week but it's far too early to tell and the information so far is patchy at best, but to believe a single word that comes out of Putin's mouth is foolhardy.

At least, if nothing else, we have a squad of mostly technical players who suit his style, unlike with Jones.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Lighthouse replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
4am is an unconventional time for a terrorist attack, not exactly a target rich environment. -
Then he'll leave onm a free and we move on. That's assuming his agent isn't just bullsh*tting and he does have genuinely PL interest, which is far from assured, given how crap he's been.
