  1. Yes it is, meant to write 'tomorrow night'. My bad. I know it's tough making comparisons but if Ukraine were in the Premier League I don't think they'd be much more than a decent midtable team. Konoplyanka and Yarmolenko are decent players in midfield but they lack quality in other areas. Shevchenko and Voronin have retired and Tymoschuck is getting on a bit. They lack a decent striker, Devic and Selezniov really aren't anything special.
  2. Might be a bit tougher for SRL tomorrow night, he will have to get past the 6ft 6 brick sh*thouse that is Yevhen Khacheridi. We saw how Rickie struggled against big defenders like Samba last season, I doubt he will get much in the air against this monster. Will be much tougher than Scotland and Moldova.
  3. Massing vs. Caniggia will always stick in my mind. How do you beat the reigning World Champions with Diego Maradonna in the team? Kick 3 shades of sh*te out of them.
  4. Anyone know if Kenny Jackett has a daughter? Would be nice if they hooked up and had an Armani - Jackett wedding.
  5. Maybe it's just me but this doesn't make any sense.
  6. I'd probably go with that team but Lambert in for Gaston, just behind Ossie. COYS!
  7. Gregory Vignal for me. Was perhaps our best player in the second half of 07/08. Shame he spent the first half warming the bench so that Wright and Euell could be shoe-horned into the team at any cost. Will never forget a cup tie at home to Leicester when he put half their team in A&E before scoring a 50 yard free kick.
  8. What evidence have you got for that, other than what complete strangers have posted on the internet? Billy has a choice. Stay here on high wages and not play or take a pay cut to go somewhere else.
  9. 'Giving a chance' to players like Hammond, Chaplow and Sharp would probably have seen us end up like Reading. Relegated, despite trying our hardest. Evidence of this is in JRod, who was incuded in the Championship team of the year (and therefore supposedly better than Sharp). He is a better all round player than Sharp and yet struggles for consistent performances in the Prem, only scoring 6 Prem goals last year.
  10. Does anyone actually have a decent source for all the Sharp rumours? All I've seen is fake twitter rumours. I'm not sure there's any particular evidence that we've been treating him badly, I'd say either the offers didn't meet the clubs valuation or Billy wasn't willing to take a pay cut to leave.
  11. Well, that's another thread ruined. Best part of a decade and people still haven't figured it out. ALPINE IS A TROLL He will say absolutely ANYTHING if it gets him some attention. ANYTHING. It doesn't have to make sense, if it is wrong more people will argue with him. How hard is it just to NOT reply to his posts and put him on ignore? Gordon Bennett...
  12. A decent window as far as I'm concerned. Kept everyone we wanted to keep, signed 3 decent players, got rid of a lot of players who aren't needed. Would have liked a bit more pace and creativity in midfield and it does sound like we at least tried. B+ from me.
  13. 2002 wasn't bad. Kept Bridge, signed Niemi and Killer. Oh and Kanchelskis... and Marcus Hall for some reason.
  14. Will have difficulty replacing all the goals he scored last season... hmmm. Good luck Yukka, come back a better player.
  15. On holiday or skint because they've just been on holiday, same as every other club every season.
  16. I don't think we will see any movement at all. We've brought in some decent players, we just need to make them work. We've got enough up front and we're tight enough at the back. There is decent cover in pretty much every position too. Get Clyne and Shaw back in the team and let VW and Ossie get used to our system, we will be alright.
  17. Personally I think burgundy with a shiny pink boob tube looks quite good.
  18. Pace isn't the issue, it's the speed of our play. I didn't see today's game but a lot of the time against Sunderland we just looked laboured, lethargic and predictable. The killer ball is always too late and too easily defended. Poch has work to do.
  19. Good luck Dean. Will never forget him getting the party started against Leeds 2 years ago.
  20. A bigger club because they won the league twice 30 years ago, perhaps. I'm not sure how that really translates for a modern day player though. I doubt playing in front of an extra 7 or 8 thousand will mean all that much to him and Everton wont be able to offer him Champions League football or extra cash.
  21. I never thought I'd ever say this but Mayuka looks like Marilyn Munroe.
  22. He clearly isn't sh*t though is he. He just didn't do it at Saints. He was excellent in Holland before he came here and seems to be doing alright since he returned. Why do some people feel the need to slag off a player who always put in maximum effort and chipped in with a few goals and assists. I don't see Billy Sharp volunteering to have his contract cancelled so he can go and play first team football. Or Forte, Martin, Hammond and Lee. I think that says more about Steve's character than anything. Same with Chaplow.
  23. Maybe if we sign a couple more Jermaine Wrights and Zoltan Liptaks people will stop referring to De Ridder as terrible. I'd say he was a decent enough Championship player, the problem was we had already surpassed his level when he signed and were aiming to win the League. He left to go and play football, rather than sit here and pick up a big fat pay cheque in the reserves. Can't we at least respect that. He's not having a swipe at Saints, just saying he doesn't particularly go for the Premier League lifestyle.
  24. We don't play with 'out and out' wingers.
