  1. Horrible way to draw. Hope Docourre gets banned. Worst of all results, prolonging Pellegrino's stay while being of little value in terms of points towards survival.
  2. I could have understood not bringing in a striker if we'd actually given Gallagher an opportunity rather than loaning him out and leaving us short.
  3. Shame if it's true about Walcott. Can understand why Everton are a more inviting destination given our respective league positions. Wonder if Palace result has affected negotiations as if we'd won that we'd at least to surface appearances look far healthier league wise. Paying for a couple of expensive loans may be what we are going to have to do given better players may not want to commit.
  4. Given we signed Bednarek as backup & signed Hoedt for 15m as effectively Van Dijk's replacement i can't really see us splashing the cash again in that position there unless there's a decision that the club will play 5 at the back long term. Given the lack of faith in Pied & playing 2 centre backs out of position i can see why a backup RB might be a priority, especially if it's one with potential to develop as who knows how long Cedric will stay even if we stay up. AM, i would see a pacy player as the necessity rather than a Davis equivalent, whether that's Walcott or someone else. So once again i wouldn't necessarily agree with you. Striker is clearly a huge area of concern.
  5. Not confident. The one thing i don't particularly want to see is a draw, which would neither particularly help our position & likely drag out the managerial situation. Mccarthy Cedric Stephens Hoedt Bertrand Lemina Romeu Hojberg Tadic Long Boufal Subs Forster, Yoshida, Davis, Hesketh, JWP, Mcqueen, Gabbi If Cedric isn't ready, Yoshida in with Stephens moving across. Redmond needs some time out. He's doing nothing on the pitch and he's just a lightning rod for vocal fan unhappiness. Give Sims/Hesketh/Mcqueen a chance on the bench instead
  6. Pretty much doing the job you would expect of a club captain, trying to get people to pull together.
  7. Thought he was solid especially out of position. Sessegnon seemed overhyped on that evidence though. Let’s hope he can develop into a reliable cover option.
  8. Happy we are still in the cup & maybe it'll help players confidence. At least we aren't stoke. Don't think performance was much good, barring short spells. Luckily Fulham were pretty awful & when we sat back and let them for once put a good cross in their striker missed the ball. Hopefully we'll still move manager on this week. Strange substitutions again. When your first 2 substitutions are booed that's not good. Gabbi looks a shadow of the player he was last season.
  9. The good news is that we are winning and i really don't want us to go out of the FA cup in the 3rd round. The bad is that we are playing terribly. Boufal has been the one bright spark, terrorising them. Our goal came from a very fortunte deflection frtom their player but it was a nice finish by JWP I'm very much a Davis fan but today he is having a horrible game, his touch in particular which is usually so good is deserting him. Hopefully we can escape out with a win or a draw & board will get rid of pellegrino because it is clear that's not good enough.
  10. never heard of him. Looking on Fifa stats, i'm guessing if true he's supposed to give us that presence up top as it suggested he had little pace.
  11. Hope Hesketh is involved in some capacity for this game. That defence is going to be even more rickety with Pied, Cedric & Hoedt out. I'm guessing it's going to be Bednarek in. Have a feeling this could be very messy.
  12. There are obviously weaknesses in the squad but I still think we have quite a number of talented players. Today we had palace and rather than go for the kill I can only assume the manager told them to start to sit and passively absorb pressure. There may not be great options out there but at this stage i’d take even someone like monk. He got Swansea to 8th, had Leeds performing well for much of last season after being a basket case & even at Middlesbrough he was 9th.
  13. He's got to go for sheer cluelessness. On a horrid night, on a horrid pitch you need to push for the 2nd not try and sit and absorb pressure. Taking off Hojberg then compounded that madness.
  14. Find all that repeated small club talk very worrying. Certainly the top 6 live in a world of their own but don't see why we should be describing ourselves as small in comparison to the league in general. Not particularly happy at the re-evaluating of last season as a success either. Other than that seemed full of waffle which is to be expected. Expected the vote of confidence in Pellegrino, once he wasn't sacked after spurs and VVD sale it wasn't happening without further horrendous results.
  15. McCarthy is one of those players I was reall6 happy we signed as I was impressed by what I saw of him for reading. Was disappointed by his injuries and lack of opportunity. Looked good today. Even the Pogba offside goal he got down to and got a touch, otherwise Pogba may not have felt any need to touch it in. As for Forster, perhaps if he doesn’t regain his place a club like Newcastle(post takeover) may want to have an England international between their sticks.
  16. Rather strange lineup. Mccarthy, happy he's getting a chance. Stephens, why is he at right back again rather than as a 3 man defence. Why is Pied considered so poor he can't play right wing back. Romeu: who was horrendous against Spurs keeps his place Long, makes sense to play him just as it did when he was effective away to man city. until we buy someone else with pace to replace him he's always going to be the option for this sort of game.
  17. Was there ever any explanation as to why we got rid of Sammy Lee who had an extremely strong resume as an assistant & was part of an extremely successful set up. Since then we’ve gone to the useless relegation specialist black and now to a complete rookie in the role.
  18. Happy for Kelvin though i’ve Got to say I find it a baffling move. Surely underage groups are where he should be cutting his teeth as a coach and seniors should have someone with a proven track record of improving players and being part of successful coaching teams.
  19. Well we've got good money for him. Can't stand way he's behaved and his attitude. Hope it goes horribly wrong for him at liverpool. Just hope we use the funds wisely and not all at once. The summer is the time to utilise money better, now's the time for some emergency patching.
  20. Forster Cedric/pied Stephens hoedt yoshi targett Boufal lemina hojberg tadic Long
  21. Gotta assume that’s the final nail in the coffin. A performance akin to arsenal, utd & city games was needed and instead it was an embarrassing hammering.
  22. what’s really worrying is how poor we are at holding onto leads. Even wham game which we ended up winning it was after we’d blown a 2 goal lead. The football itself hasn’t been terrible especially of late though. Given the quality I think we have the current points haul is very sub par. The only card he has in his favour is the lack of an obvious candidate out there. As wba have shown just sacking a manager without having a good replacement up your sleeve is dodgy. So i’m Still somewhat on fence. I’ll wait to see what club decide. Just hope if they do sack him it isn’t just to appease the baying mob and they actually have a plan in place.
  23. Forster Cedric Stephens hoed yoshida targett Lemina Romeu hojberg Long gabbi Subs: McCarthy, van dijk, McQueen, Davis, Redmond, hesketh, tadic
  24. Crazy by borough imo. Wins, up to 9th in a very competitive league in 1st season & they sack him. Wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to him at saints.
  25. Personally thought Redmond was frustrating. Very diligent defensively. His pace caused them all sorts of problems but his final ball was either poor or he chose the wrong option. I personally was very surprised he was the one to come off instead of Tadic who was very sloppy twice before their goal after having a very bright start.
