Bielsa turned Leeds from a team going nowhere to promotion and a top half finish. Burnley imploding kept them up. Marsch just happened to be there. He hardly marched them up the table.

After listening to that i’m Half convinced saints are a horse trainers. All that garbage about the Red Bull stable. -
Because bielsa is a maverick genius, whilst marsch is a useless bag of hot air
-
Damn says coach not physio, dampens Adkins mania
-
So wilder a guy who finished massively higher than marsch in Prem and has experience of getting promoted is a joke name, but relegation zone marsch is not. Hmm
-
In what way would he bit a good fit for championship. I think he’d likely be even more of a disaster in that setting.
-
Was hoping for either a short-term unity candidate(which he ain't) or someone with eye to getting a quick return from championship (which he looks as massive a gamble as Jones was in the prem). There's high possibility of us just becoming more of a laughing stock, the club that not only went through 3 managers but actually appointed someone another club got rid of because he was relegating them.
-
I'm genuinely curious if Marsch fans would love him so much if he came from Rhyl in Wales rather than Racine in Wisconsin. To me there's nothing good about him. He took over a struggling leeds side and kept them struggling(fortunately there were 3 worse sides), This season he kept them struggling and was finally sacked because they were sure he was going to relegate them. He's the worst non saints manager at St Marys i can think of this season when he sat on his hands tactically as they threw away 2 points. His record at Leipzig wasn't even good. He won at Salsburg(well let's say that's not hard, they won every title since 06/07 haven't they?
-
So what you think they are only capable of appointing muppets like marsch and jones.
-
Marsch would be a complete joke of an appointment.

Quality Guardian journalism "Supporters hoped the 30-year-old Orsic would help ease the scoring burden on Che Adams, one of few players to impress this season" Now i certainly don't think Che is a terrible player but nor would i ever say he's impressed. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2023/feb/12/nathan-jones-must-not-take-all-the-blame-for-southampton-calamity

Chelsea have scored 4 goals in their last 8, so i'd be gutted if we let them score 3/4. -

I'm not really talking about people's reactions to the appointments. I'm talking about the success of the appointments. Adkins (took us up 2 divisions and had us mid table in the prem), Potchettino took us further upwards and then was headhunted. Koeman took us into europe and then was headhunted.
-
The days of Adkins, Potchettino & Koeman seem a lifetime ago. Now we are being seriously linked with Leeds failed manager. The one manager this season who is even worse at using his subs than a broken Ralph was.
-
Billy Davies coming in too to thrill them with a presentation on his 2007 Derby side?
-
Yesterday when i was watching Jones' fiddle whilst our lead burned away i thought back to that game against Leeds where the completely inept Marsch let us come back from 2 nil down in the same way. That better be a wind up.

Would love to see Bielsa at Saints next season. Not a realistic this season appointment though as his brand of football needs a pre-season to bed in. If we are appointing someone permanently now it needs to be with clear view that they are best possible candidate for the Championship, which is highly likely to be our destination. I don't see a standout name(now that Everton have got Dyche) that could work miracles to save us or would likely be interested, so i'd be inclined to lean towards a caretaker till end of the season & fresh start with someone new next. Know others hate the romantic idea of Adkins coming in as a short-term unity candidate but that's still probably where i'd lean if he was up for it.
-
How is Jesse Marsch, the guy who just got sacked for being incompetent at Leeds second favourite at 8-1(with bookies) currently?
-
Small squad, we've got a massive bloated squad.
-
I was incredulous when i heard Bielsa wanted the u23 job at everton(this season) not the senior job(till next season). Funny thing is i now i sort of think, maybe that mightn't be such a bad thing for Saints (as this season is a right off now)
-
Random choice. Also why would the German Asst Manager want to manage in the Championship?
-
Just depressed myself (checking the contracts page) that we are likely stuck with him till 2025. That's assuming i don't wake up on Monday to news of the club giving him a new 5 year contract.
-
Good candidates aren't going to want to leave their jobs and come preside over almost certain relegation. Get a caretaker and wait till the summer is by far the best option.

Pretty sure I saw Sulemana touching the ball, so I have no doubts another pacey player(tella) would have
