  1. Really seems to have applied himself this summer and is doing a very solid job filling in. Be interesting to see if he'll be offered a contract extension or if he'll maintain a role elsewhere in the team once Perraud is fit.
  2. Yeah been saying for a while i don't see the pressing need for a CB this window. We need to shed one (hopefully the useless bednarek , cmon villa you know you want to buy him) to just get down to last season's level. Striker is the definite area we need another body. I'd love a new 10 with real pace too(though i'm guessing we'd need to shift numbers from there too)
  3. Ideal game for lots of rotation with view to keeping first xi fresh for man u. Hopefully we see a couple of good u23's getting minutes too.
  4. I'll be furious if he carries on with the 5 at the back garbage.
  5. The idea of spending £20m on a third choice midfielder feels strange but maybe the club see it as investing in the future.
  6. Is he the one that was at everton briefly?
  7. Don't really get why Cuco is in red, he was excellent value for money. Also don't really see feel Lyanco should be red.
  8. Delap to stoke makes sense(he'll get game time he needs). I didn't really see why we would have any interest in a loan anyway.
  9. I don't see the point of delap loan. We've already got our own developmental striker. Surely we'll want somebody with at least some first team experience. Hudson-odoi, is slightly different. Short term high quality. Concern would be how high a loan fee might be.
  10. Would have thought he could commute from London rather than move to soton. (Thought we had players do that before?)
  11. Historically there's tended to be a view it's harder to get players to go there compared to London/ Manchester etc.
  12. No one wants to live in Newcastle surely. Stay in the UK computable distance, better guarantee of playing time? Probably a long shot but is the sort of improvement at 10 we need.
  13. Hopefully they can negotiate some sort of loan with obligation(If they get promoted etc)
  14. Unless he's unhappy i don't really see any logic to getting rid of Romeu this season. Not going to raise much money and he's valuable quality depth to midfield.
  15. An England also ran. Probably feeling the need to get attention given she didn't play in the final.
  16. Not saying it's the reason, my point is we were generally bad at the end of the season regardless of formation.
  17. Well we lost to relegated Burnley and Liverpool B playing a 5, so really only success of 5 was a very lucky win against Arsenal, so little evidence of it being any use at the end of last season either. The idea that we should stick with a formation (regardless of Perraud's fitness) that has a 1 - 6 goal record this season is plain nuts imo.
  18. I wouldn't, i'd play Djenepo but it's an option(if he's concerned about his defensive frailties) given JWP has always been solid defensively at RB & Romeu was one of best players in the first half of last season. It's much better to do that than to persist with crazy notion 3 at the back is of any use.
  19. Yeah exactly there are so many people who deliberately ignore context just because they are so desperate to take offence.
  20. The problem is it's doubtful anyone is going to give us that for Diallo. The article linked said Valencia were interested in a loan which is useless to Saints.
  21. It's got to be 4 at the back. If he really doesn't want to start djenepo at LB there are other first team options even without perraud. Stephens has played there before(if he's still at the club) or move JWP to RB& bring romeu into midfield.
  22. Garner seems an odd link to me. Clearly talented but doesn't seem a priority for a major outlay imo when you've got Lavia/JWP & Romeu. Guess Diallo would be odd man out in that scenario. Personally i want to see a really pacey 10 arrive but that might be reliant on shifting out at least one of Redmond/Elyounessi.
  23. I'd still assume we'd need to get rid of Bednarek somewhere first.
  24. One of things where var won’t overrule because he got a touch but if he gives it they wouldn’t overrule if ref gave red card. The cynic in me also thinks ref gives red card if it was a man city player
  25. I’d keep djenepo over both. Seems to have got his head down and applied himself this summer, offers some cover at fb and is still relatively young.
