Goal difference is going to be a key factor going into the latter half of the season. We are still 3 goals worse than Leeds. Home games like this we need to be going for the throat. Not to sound arrogant at all!
-
Leicester have looked crap in these two Ipswich games.
-
Feels like either way it’s a bonus now we’ve done our bit. But Leicester win for me.
-
The most dominant half I’ve seen from a Saints team. Could/should be a cricket score.

My son was born on 29th September and is yet to know a Saints defeat.

With the pressure Martin was under at the start of the season (I was calling for his head!) you have to respect him for sticking to his principles. And my how it has paid off. The pride is back and St Mary’s is becoming a fortress again. Finally the team has its identity back. Fantastic appointment.
-
Bloody love this team! Pride is well and truly back! What a run! 16 games unbeaten since my boy was born!

Leeds 3-0 against Ipswich. C’mon boys get the win and close that gap.
-
Same as me mate! Congrats!
-
Would love to get a CDM in. Charles is the only natural number 6 in the team.

How would I keep a baby quiet for 90 mins? Brandy in the milk I hear.

My three day old first born son will be watching his first Saints game on the hospital TV tonight. C’mon Saints do us proud.

There is no excuse for the squad we have not to be in the top 3 this season. Anything failing that is down to the manager. Clearly it’s not working or going to reach the standard this squad is capable of. Therefore SR need to cut their losses and make a quick and decisive change.
-
Can we just LOL that Joe Aribo was played in midfield?! How mental is that?!?!?
-
This manager will not be here by Christmas. So I hope SR don’t stand around with their dicks in their hands and watch our promotion chances fade away.
-
Tactically that was another shambles. It was beyond obvious Charles needed to be in midfield and Bednarek in defence. Also how can Alcaraz not get into this team whilst useless Adarma runs about like a poor man’s Shane Long?! The space we leave for number 10s to roam about in is ridiculous. There was a non existent midfield for most of the game so the back 4 looked like Bambi on ice with no passing outlet. Pull the plug on this manager asap.
-
Half the time it’s a back 2.
-
The defensive tactics are non-existent. The 4th goal from the corner, what in the fuck?! After that goal last week. The full backs are invisible on the transition. No one tracks runs in behind. It’s dreadful.
-
I have not seen a worse defensive performance in any game for a long time. The full backs are non existent, the tracking of runs doesn’t happen. The whole 11 forward on corners is baffling. It’s a complete mess. They should have scored 6 or 7. And his interview shows he’s lost it already. 16 goals in 6 games is pathetic. There is no excuse with the squad we have here. The players are not the issue (for once) but the manager. Terrible appointment.
-
Well that was dreadful. How a team with 30% of the ball can have 10 shots on target?! Bazunu is just a piss poor goalkeeper and Holgate had a nightmare debut. The thing that worries me is the tactics which allow teams so much space down the flanks in transition. The midfield was poor as well. Totally overrun. Twice from our own corner they pumped it forward to get into a dangerous attack. Wtf is that about. Genuinely can’t take a single positive from that. Other than having two weeks off for the international break.

Please Saints now increase our Lavia valuation to £60m. Given how they were happy to have their pants pulled down by Brighton (LGBT+ will cancel me for that last sentence).
-
Agreed. That was a total new style to a team that has lost its identity. Last night we had a new identity and it was a joy to watch. Things will continue to improve as well. Genuinely stunned that people could moan about last night.
-
If RussBall is our new identity then I am all for it. Thought we were brilliant to watch last night. Thoroughly enjoyed that.
-
Some of the passing we played last night was really something to watch. It was played at a high tempo we aren’t used to either. Wednesday couldn’t get near the ball. Also good to see some pressing when we lost the ball. Clearly we lacked a bit of presence up front but it is obvious we will have a new CF playing that role. I think we are in for a very enjoyable season lads.

Grim.
