Cortese got an incredible deal for oxlade. Its laughable to even try to criticise that deal. It was for a record amount for a 3rd tier player, and one with less than 6months football under his belt. Not only that, but it directly helped secure our promotion to the premier league. The Reedists on here, and also the cortese bashers, need to get their arguments straight.

I actually think he is good after watching the first few games. Most of our key goal-scoring chances have been due to him and he is actually quite a good creator given how few chances we create. Looked good with two pacey wide men (that run with the ball) and someone playing off him.

Literally. The departure of a director of football should have zero effect on the first team between February and May. If it does then the situation is even more wrong than current appears. He does not pick the team or the tactics, and he has no impact on how the players train etc.... He should have been removed following Poch's exit and the summer of discontent.

Shearer was better than any current saints striker when with us. I would argue that Bale is better than our current wingers. Plus he was 17. Not entirely sure what you are taking so much issue with. Toby, Mane, Bale and Shearer would all walk into our current side?!?!
