I disagree with that, i think the board have had enough chances, and that they are the reason we are saddled with only Forster in goal and gaping holes in attacking midfield. It smacks or shocking medium/long term planning. That said, I think that Lemina is pure class, and I think that Hoedt is a very good prospect. So they have recovered slightly at the end of the window. Regardless, we have been on a downwards trajectory for nearly 2 years worth of windows at this point. And they've had mares before that as well. I simply think that Puel lost his job (at least in part) because of limited players available to him, and I think that the fan's are turning on MP for similar reasons. In my opinion, the current gaffer has the potential to be good, and frankly we've dropped so far we may as well take a gamble and see if he can turn things around. Many on here would have sacked LM in his first season, or sacked Koeman multiple times before his top 6 finish and near CL qualification. Many on here also told us that Mane was gash. The majority rule on saintsweb is usually wrong when it comes to spitting the dummy out. And I include myself in with regards to Koeman at his very worst.

Most of that is fair. But I still say give MP time. The man clearly has intelligence and experience, and its obvious that he can see the problems. I think he'll puzzle his way out of it and he is trying to justify the players he has with english football and his managerial style. Having "manager out" threads after 7 games (or whenever it was that this started) is honestly a bit silly.

And yet, the thread is for MP out, not Les Reed out. Fans are thickle, and their failure to correctly apportion blame means Uncle Les and co will get more chances to drop a bollock.

We also like to give it away for free. If we are going to be successful then people need to earn it.

Guys relax, Pelle will come good. He is an intelligent tactician, he's aware of the problem and is trying out different systems to fix it. He'll get there in the end. Look at Conte last season, was poor at the start, then found his system and went on to smash the league. It is ridiculous to sack the manager after so few games. Our fans have become unbearable of late, support the team and the manager rather than demanding instant success and throwing your toys out of the pram when you don't get it.

I agree. I want to see Long and Gabbi in the same team (possibly with Boufal). I think Slong's pace and hard work would be very complimentary to Gabbi's off the ball movement and finishing. They will naturally create space and options for each other. Those two with Boufal + Tadic supporting would certainly give us better movement and chance creation. Its up to the manager to make it work. We will see what he is made of in the coming games. He seems a very intellectual coach and he obviously knows we have problems in attack. I look forward to him resolving these problems.

They are responsible for the shockingly bad attacking options we have yes. MoPe is a decent manager (he isn't going to set the world alight for sure), but if the fans just turn on players / managers all the time then the same things will keep happening. I think the entire fanbase can see the issues lie with Tadic and Redmond as out two creative players. This is the fault of the board, and the board and these attacking midfield options are the common denominator between MoPe and Puel. In summary, the board have got us into this mess with a **** poor recruitment strategy. Again. It is the same crap every year of late and it needs to change. There is zero point attacking the manager when he doesn't have the tools to do better. And if you want to go down that line, its the boards fault for attacking a manager the fans don;t think is up to it. Again. Buck starts and stops at the top i'm afraid.

With respect, I don't agree, I think you are guilty of serious revisionism. I think MoPe will come good. He has had a lot of disruption with the whole VVD saga, board take over etc. We again haven't strengthened the attack, and we are still carrying redmond and tadic despite the obvious failure to replace Mane and Pelle last year. The only issues with the team are ones that the board have made through a lack of vision and poor transfer policies.

Not really, people got fed up with Puel because he onyl ever had 1 striker in the box. And how many games at home did we not score even a single goal with Puel. People need to notice the improvements. Laughable that they can't.

The football under MP is far far better. I think people forget Puel's games. You would lose count of the number of times we have not a single player inside the 18yard box.

Can't stand how our fans instantly turn on the manager for the team's lack of goals. If the team, Puel and now MP are not good enough... its time to blame the actual cause.

You are aware he had NO squad when he joined saints. Even tweeting his disastifaction with a picture of an open training ground. The history rewriting that goes on on here is a joke. Koeman assembled the best squad at saints in my supporting lifetime. Bringing in key players like Pelle, Mane, Tadic, Bertrand, Cedric, Forster, Toby, VVD, Romeu. Honestly, the stuff our fans come out with on here is hilarious. He may have done the dirty on us (or we forced him out), and he hasn't been very gracious since he left.... But lets not insult the man and make ourselves look lime completely demented vegetables with comments like this please.
