This will just make the whole market worse to be honest. Less time to make transfers, higher pressure. What they should have done was get rid of the transfer window full stop. Needless to say, people will just lap this up regardless.

Will be blunt. I am not sure there is much between VVD's current ability, and where stephens will be at the end of the season. VVD is a fantastic footballer and a giant of a man who is superb physically but sometimes lacks intelligence. Stephens is a classy defender who is only getting better and better with each game I watch him. He's not VVD yet, but I can see him being very good.

I think we're in for a good season. And that means goals. Think we'll be solid at the with quite a few goals (+10 GD sort of territory). But not super tight like the last few years. Sadly we could have been stronger than we are, and it's another summer wasted in that regard by our board.

The point is that in footballing terms, we are signing bargain basement players, purely in the hope that they'll do well and we can flog them on. The club are taking the fans for a ride - our ambition is purely to make money. Full Stop.

I don't think people are moaning at the club because we aren't spending £45-50m on GF or RB. They are moaning because we desperately need defensive reinforcements and the club show no signs of getting them in. With our current defence we are going to struggle this year.

That is exactly what this board did as soon as NC went though. Airbrushing and blame. And £16m for a young english fullback who kept Clyne out of the team and who we had zero need to sell. And £16m for Oxlade (a player with 3months experience in the 3rd tier). Both have gone on to do similar in my opinion. In my opinion, he is very very quick to take credit for others work where he can, and very quick to blame others when its convenient. Every summer, new people give him the benefit of the doubt, "one more window" etc etc... But I honestly think he has run out of ideas and is struggling just to stay afloat (why the hell was Forster given a year extension, why are we repeatedly not signing first team players whilst selling them?!?) He inherited momentum and young talented team and none of that now remains in place. I think every window more and more fans see through this facade. This window has to be his final chance to get it right. We can't afford another step back.

You are ofc right S Clarke. LR got ML to buy the club. LR signed RL and JF... ofc. LR Hired pardew, sacked him, hired Adkins, sacked him, hired poch... LR screwed arsenal to the wall with the AOC transfer, and has continued those amazing transfer negotiation skills when we sold RL, CC, AL, SM, DL etc. It was LR, and not NC that received numerous praise from the players during our rise up the english football pyramid. It was LR and his magic black box that signed DT, SM, VVD, GP, TA... nothing to do with Koeman. LR in no way dropped the bollock on TA LR in no way fell out with RK. And ofc, LR has never released misleading statements to the fans that coincided with certain season ticket deadlines etc. Never ever. Honestly, one thing Les Reed can actually stake a claim to. And I'll give him his credit for this. He hired Koeman. Looks more and more likely that that was just a lucky one off though.

As fans, we are being taken for a ride.

Our progression has slowed, stopped, and now reversed under Les Reed. He does not get credit for anything pre Koeman.
