Any word? The fact that no one has said this is off means it must be about to break soonish? We can't afford to waste half the summer in limbo. The one thing I don't quite follow is how the guaranteed turnover of the club for the next 2 years is more than he is paying to buy it. Let alone the value of the clubs assets (both players and facilities). We do seem to be going cheap for a premier league club?

Where is alpine, his rant is appropriate atm. -
Players a bit worried with where the club are heading !?

Yup, Les dropped the ball big time last summer. -
Against this, Labour want to tax tax tax, and give gifts around quite literally like monopoly money. They have completley ignored the deficit and the growing debt. How can people vote for a party that made the above mess and saved nothing for the dark days... and now think they bribe their way into power with more overspending... But don't tell me, "its all costed"....cool, that's nice... but how about we pay off their fecking deficit for future generations first ey? Labour build a massive nanny state, base it on high taxes and create something the government can't afford. The tories come in and try to balance the books and get hung drawn and quartered for it. The rest of us get stuck in the middle of this ludicrous seesaw. Why on earth you'd vote for labour I'll never know? They sold this country down the swanny properly under blair. But maybe you like overcrowding in schools, increased hospital waiting times, pot holes, a celebrity obsessed PC society, gender neutral toilets in schools and a toxic iraq war legacy... Thats the beauty of democracy, we all get a vote I guess. And before you replay with "tory cuts" - "chicken or the egg"?

Ahem... I have posted about Cairney in the transfer thread

I have to say, I wish NC was here atm. That man new how to lead, be decisive and make correct decisions. -
There is nothing wrong with this post guys. I know you want to laugh at him. But this post is one of the more balanced on here regarding the season just gone...

Please teach them loyalty and an eternal love of the saints

They look wide open and completley direct.

If he fails again this summer then his position seriously needs to be looked at. He lost Poch, got very lucky with koeman (who got us Mane, Toby, VVD, Pelle, Tadic), then fell out with Koeman, lost toby from under his nose.... and then we had last summer's car crash. This summer needs to be his last throw of the dice with this tactic of selling. And if he fluffs it again then its time to move him along to the retirement home and get in someone capable.

At which point does "Uncle" Les actually get the stick he clearly deserves? Even if he comes out of it okay again this summer, the beauty of our system is that it isn't dependant on anyone in particular... and that everyone is replaceable. -

Because Koeman didn't do any better did he. -
Sorry what, you think our board are capable of not being an embarrassment?
-
So we all know that it's chelsea surely?
-
Conversely you are perfectly at home.

I think you need to re-read what I put. If we sell, and fail to strengthen (again), then he has failed at his job (again). Why should he get to outlast the managers he lets down? Les' track record isn't very impressive tbh. He lost the best manager in the league with Poch, got very lucky with (and then fell out with) Koeman. And since then has signed very underwhelming players to replace star players. My view is that if he refuses to alter his tactics/approach, and fails again, then something is seriously wrong and his position should be reviewed. I didn't call for him to be sacked atm, i said he has the summer to show what he is worth. And it will be the fans that make it clear, there are already widespread mutterings about Les Reed after this season. Imagine if he performs the same failed tricks this summer and next year. Also, where do you see me saying I expect VVD to stay at Saints... Please read. Its nothing to do with VVD. Its about our ability to improve. Our best players of recent seasons have been Mane, VVD, Tadic and Toby. All Koeman signings.

The problem you have here AR-10, is that the actual ITK's on this forum are saying he will be sold, and he will be sold to Liverpool. I think you've just destroyed all (any of) your credibility.
-
Any word on this? Can we assume its fallen through? And does that leave us in limbo?
-
I think if we sell VVD and don't manage to get near the top 6 again next season, both in games and in the league. Then frankly, Les Reed's position should be in serious jeopardy. Its not acceptable to strip the first team of star players and fan favourites every year purely to make dosh and weaken the team. And if he does it again, and fails again, it won't be the manager getting booed at every home game..
-
Interesting point. But VVD hasn't asked to leave? And by all accounts seems happy enough to give us another year? Is it possible that he is standing up for the club, and has reported Liverpool contacting him illegally? Because if he has done that, they are actually going to be in trouble if the player has stitched them up. Would love it if that is what has happened anyway Just read SKD's post, is he in the know? If so then

Dont crush my dreams man, I've just got used to the idea of us signing a goalscoring midfielder who can not only shoot from outside the box, but also find the corners!! Also, you what mate, bottom 3 material?!?!?! You know that Fulham kid is one of the hottest prospects in england right now!!
-
Yeah, Cairney is a great little player. This is exaclty the shizzle we've been missing from Midfield. Goals!!! Obligatory Youtube Video: SKIP TO 30 SECONDS ** In fact I would be well happy if we signed him And also, since Fulham raided our academy staff when we went down... We really should get this lad, especially if Bertrand is leaving... Seems only just!!
-
Honestly, he has bang average touch, no real skills and looks more of a JJ Shelvey. Nothing wrong with that, but we have Romeu, JWP, PEH, Clasie, Davis who can all do elements of what this guy does... but better. we do no need another midfielder like this.
