How many tactical mistakes is Adkins allowed? (Part 2)
Saint86 replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Translation - "NC, my name is DPS, AKA D****ed Pig S**t, I know nothing about football, nor do I represent the majority of saints fans views. However! Do not let that sway you from my undeniable words of wisdom... Nigel Adkins is not a premier league manager (despite the fact that he manages in the premier league?) He did not get us promoted from the championship to the premier - this did not happen! He is in fact a fiasco of a man who has pulled the wool over your eyes these past 2 years despite "not" getting 2 promotions on the back of a £3m net spend!!!! You must sack him now! He will never be a premier league manager, because all premier league managers have always managed in only the premier league! And, despite only ever taking responsibilties for the team performance, it will be your fault alone NC if we get relegated. *************** My personal message to NC - Hire your brown shirts, find DPS, and ban him from st mary's for the rest of his life. This is fact, this wish represents the majority of saint's fans wishes and this must be done! If you do not do this as an example to all saintette mongs, then mark my words..... we will blame you for our bedwetting fanbase. IT WILL BE ALL YOUR FAULT NC!!!! -
Alpine, how rich are you? The reason I ask is because statements like this make me think of Back to the Future 2 and a certain Sports Almanac? You also tend to rub people up the wrong way (a bit like the bad guy in said movie). - I say this in jest! But seriously if you are wrong, can you stop being a prat and stating "facts" - which are bollux. And instead give it as your opinion. Its a bit more polite than constantly shouting people down or giving them sarcastic comments? Pretty Please
-
Yes, but surely you agree that leeds away would be a good test by which to guage him.
-
I blame fox for both tbh. aways down the left........... have you seen his tracking back for the first. A liesurely strole whilst lennon (or defoe) attacks our CB. - He is walking back, 30m away when the cross goes in - total fecking joke... However this is off topic. I don't blame Boruc for any goals so far. Hadn't played since may so is bound to be rusty. I would also like to see the fans who abused him getting a ban for 2months. Plyer abused on his home debut. Wouldn't surpise me if it was anti polish bs as well. Have heard that a few times in chapel over the years.

Seriously, Lambert, our best player? Jesus Christ. He is one of a few key players. We are premier league now, he is slow, and he is 30. I love him to bits but he is not going to be suited to every game so he shouldn't expect to start every game.. He has not been stand out in any of the last 3 matches.... others have, yet he is our best player? I wonder if we are paying him the same as Gaston, or davies for that matter. Personally I think Lallana is more important for our team now and going forward. Don't get me wrong. Lambert is a class player and a strue saints legend... But gallas totally handled him and others will as well. He will not be suited to all oppositions.
-
Reading this thread I would say its fairly clear that you saw wrong. But never mind, people like to get angry about perceived wrongs. Your attitude is exactly the same as the mongs who started the whole affair. And now it has gone out on radio solent so that the fans will turn on Boruc... Literally, well ****ing done to the numpties!
-
In answer to your thread title... "DI CANIO" I Say... NO
-
I think it will be Kelvin, Gazza has been dropped as he is not ready. Poor game (should have saved 2) vs everton etc. Boruc could have been better vs Spam (In his defense he has not played in a while before this and LB was awful.) That leaves Kelvin, promoted back to the bench with both keepers in front of him having a bad games last couple of times out. I think we will see KD this week!

Puncheon was directly responsible for Villa's goal. Him and clyne dicking around at right back, sloppily gave the ball away, villa scored from immediate cross. Nowhere near man of the match for me... However, he has done well this season and should not be worried about in general. Neither should lallana, for example great goal against wet spam, great assist for lambert against villa to get us back in the game. Never stops running and tracks back loads with some crucial tackles and blocks. People need to accept that we are not good enough at the back, this season will be a challenge and scrap. Relish it, get behind the team, and remember what it used to be like being the underdogs and getting surprise wins like that vs Man Utd (6-3, 3-1, 1-0, 2-1). That is the level we are at at the moment, a relegation dog fight team. As fans we need to get behind the whole team, the manager and the club and relish opportunities to get wins. To many fans have gotten used to dickign league 1 and league 2 teams and forgotten what it means to be a saints fan imho.

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks
Saint86 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It was bad enough the last time he took us down.... Portsmouth welcoming him back after sending the scummers down etc etc. Can you frigging imagine if it happened again. Even if he wasn't a cheating, tax dodging saggy pair of beef curtains, which he is, he would not be worth that risk. Utter Bull**** -

Quality reply! This is 100% response this should be getting! People shouldn't even consider this rumour is true! -
I just don't know to be honest. His interview on saints player made it look like he wanted to cry to be honest. I think he has it in his locker, hell, i think the team have it in their lockers to be better than this. We outplayed man utd, smashed villa and really should have won against fulham.... so why the hell isn't it working. What is going on exactly? Even adam seemed more depressed than should be warranted after a 4-1 drumming when we should have nabbed some points - if not all 3 at half time! Makes you wonder if the players feel he is a dead man walking as well. But then, this has been the case many times before and he is still here. NC did give him a whopper contract very early on, he is NC's man after pardew, and whichever way you look at it, he has spent a colossal amount of money on transfers for adkins to use - all of which I think are decent additions in their own right. I also think that if NC wanted him gone.... then he'd be long gone and over the hill by now? surely? NC is not a man who messes around when it comes to what he wants? To be honest, I am wondering if this is NC's way of motivating Nigel - making him really worry for his job?? NC seems a hard if decent man from what I have seen? He likes Nigel, Nigel has done well for him and been loyal... and I think under those criteria there is certainly respect from NC, if perhaps not sympathy. Who knows... But I would keep Nigel even if we get relegated, to me, he deserves a full season in the premier... worse managers than him have been given that chance, and have not always won promotions to get it. Also, it was always a 3 year plan, and our transfers would allow us to go down and be okay for a season or 2 without a firesale? Maybe that is the backup plan, if all else fails, get relegated... keep most of the squad, and bounce back?
-
I would keep him, but then I won't blame him if we go down. He deserves a chance and I want a stable fooball club which we will get with him. I also think that if he was really in the mire with NC that he'd be gone already. Although, his interview in the echo suggests he has lost confidence and is worrying about the sac. Fear may cripple the man which is a worry. He has my vote, and I would have him as the man to take us out of the championship if we get relegated, it was a 5 year plan after all and perhaps we went up early. However we got the parachute payments in the bank, we will make our money for players we CHOOSE to sell and the remaining players are on long term contracts with wages to be paid fro the PP. If we go down it will not be that bad. We have certainly been for worse, and i think we would be in a position to come back stronger and come back better for it. Maybe I am a dreamer no?
-
Ha, i suppose the one dead certain is that Harding would definitely give away a penalty with the constant shirt pulling But I just liked the man, always tried hard! At times thats what you want, and he would not be worst than yoshi at left back - that is no complaint to maya, but I just don't think he is a full back :/ As for hammond, its when we loose the ball that we struggle, he was never creative, but he was a stallwart in midfield and I think he would perhaps be better than warde prowse as a substitute still. Plus he was a detirmined head to give encouragement, we are short on them now that him and kelvin are gone.

I may be reaching here, but I do think that this summers transfer business could be described in terms of players lost OR missed signings. Its clear that we haven't addressed the back line, we've all known that I would guess since January last year? Certainly this summer. But I am also gutted that we let Harding go. I was sad at the time as I always felt he was a player who put the graft in, and if any of our less fancied players was going to step up I felt it could have been him? Especially now, when we have 1 fit full back. I wish we still had him on the books! As for the midfield. We are looking thin on the ground. I felt morgan was very good first half against west ham and gave as good as he got despite some crunching tackles which were in the typical west ham mould of "go for the player". But we are really missing cork, him morgan and ramirez is a decent midfield 3, I don't think there should be any debating that. But seriously, hammond was worth a keep... get stuck in and made for it as a hard working tackling midfielder who would protect the defense and get the ball clear, the SIMPLE THINGS! I am struggling to think of a time this season when we have actually hoofed the ball clear. Playing from the back is good ofc, but the players need to get it clear once in a while. They hesitate and play it out to softly as times and we put ourselves under easy pressure as a result. They need to be harder! Wanted to guage other's opinions on these 2 and perhaps other players? Could they do a job for us now, when we are seriously suffering in crucial positions due to injuries?

He was **** yesterday. And **** against Fulham. If Ferguson can drop Rooney I think we can drop Ricky 'the god' Lambert. God what poor argument. Dunno if u noticed but his replacement made the goal. Worked himself some good chance. Your opinion is wrong. And FYI, I have watched a lot more than the last 4 years. Which is probably a sounder base for my opinion than 4 years of lower league football. If u think a top striker, which he is, can't be dropped for, and for good reason against west ham, then your opinion is just wrong. He was crap, along with a lot of our players second half. To say he is our best player when he is laying like **** is delusional. No one has that status automatically. Not in this team anyway. And he was dropped so he didn't tire himself out as well
-
Sorry mate but Lambert was ****. Simple as. Best players for saints were guky, jay rod and Adam. Morgan was solid first half, as was jos to give him his credit. Second half should just not be talked about defensively. But we made west ham look very good. Had to sit in the middle of the home fans listening to the singing 'we play on the floor' at the end of the game as they gave themselves a pat on the back for scoring 1 goal in essence. We score 4imho.... 3 at the wrong end. Lambert did nothing. No shots on target thati can remember. People need to get a grip. It will be a long season, we have played some hard teams so far and we are still in touch. We currently have 1 fit full back and are playing a cb down the left.... where 3 of their goals came from. No real surprise. First half we totally handled them. Jos was all over big old Andy and we were good on the break. An unlucky free kick and spill from the keeper and suddenly Adkins should go and has lost the plot. Good grief. What do u think is harder. And whatever happens support the team ffs, if we go down.. we go down. You were happy with Adkins and saints for the last 3 years. Would a return to winning the championship be so bad n hat basis... yes of... Adkins is miraculously **** all f a sudden..... Jesus h Christ. Grow a pair. Also, guly was good yesterday and not a single goal was remotely his fault... yet I find myself reading comments otherwise aligned. What an embarrassment.
-
Did you go to Upton park. Guly was literally one of our best players. Ffs. Literally what a **** pointless comment that is moaning for the sake of it. Carroll was offside for every single goal kick. Including the one that won the free kick and penalty... not guly's fault.... lino was a bender. First 2 goals were very unlucky and came down the left, 4 was class and fair play. Stop slagging off players when you clearly don't have a clue.

We won't get into Europe, England have to come top 3 in Europe for that to happen don't they? fat chance. Interesting post though, something to be proud about, we are joint top with everton for positive play

I love how certain people are so knowledgeable about EVERYTHING. If you want to know something they will freely give you their opinion. It is so helpful to have their common sense available to cut through all the crap that the majority spew....

Our Future? Stadium Expansion Proposal on Season Ticket DVD
Saint86 replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Love it, turkish getting facepalmed! Quality! -
State the obvious why don't you... On a serious note, my concern is that we are going to likely have the midget duo of JWP and Davis, (both under 5ft imho ) against some towering powerful africans who will literally destroy them through strength and not having to jump to win headers. The only plus side is that with no Vaz Te we may not get a rodgering down our left. However, nice diagonal balls to the back post and u have carrol vs the landlover clyne. I his feet do leave the ground it will only be to fall over. All this said and done, I'm sitting in the west ham section with a gills supporting mate, if we are winning I am fully intending to stand up and sing "we are southampton, we're taking the ****" about 3min before the end and when I have halfway down the stairs I would love a cheeky 1-0 win tbh, maybe with taylor getting sent off and AL diving to win a penalty.... ahhh, that would be heaven!
-
Why do you say that.... its like one win between now and the end of the season is good enough is it? Not for me personally.

Does Lallana need dropping to give him a kick up the backside?
Saint86 replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Can we call a vote and shame everyone who goes with yes please? Another post that makes me question the sanity of saints fans. -
In fairness I missed the first half, but the second half our support was superb. Atmosphere was crackling - on tv. Now I have been on several posts in the last couple of weeks criticizing people who attack other teams home support and pointing out how poor ours generally is. The simple truth is the club (NC) massivley ****ed up ticketing policy - from the prices to the website. The corparate boxes are a joke and will stop us ever selling out this season. All that said, we looked very good on TV. Empty seats or not. And I would rather have a cracking atmosphere than what goodison park was alleged to be like - a graveyard.
