  1. It's not the length of the loan it's whether the loan is an initial loan or an extension. You can't recall the player during the initial loan period but if you then extend that period you can recall them. Usually what happens is Club A loan the player to club B for a month (the minimum allowable term I believe) Club A cannot then recall the player within that month. If the clubs agree to extend the loan beyond a month then Club A can recall them at any time. So it would appear that Dyer is Swanseas for the remainder of the season, there might be a release clause where if both clubs agree he can come back to us early, I can't see Swansea agreeing to that though.
  2. I won't believe it until it has been verified by cabbageface
  3. Skacel not as good as the hype suggested and not as good as he thinks he is... nothing he can do about the former, but there is a lot he can do about the latter. Has he EVER played well enough to justify the fee, the wages and the hype? Not on the many occasions I have watched him he hasn't, can't remember a single MOTM performance from the man who is 'supposed' to be our most creative player. As for Prutton, he has found his level now so bad example there.
  4. There are a large number of people taking an unseemly amount of satisfaction out of the current crisis. Taking delight in being proved 'right' and such, when they won't really have been proved 'right' until we are relegated and/or go into administration. It's like a bunch of vultures eager for the beast to die so they can begin picking over the corpse.
  5. I love this, completely unsubstantiated rumour from someone with little posting history and because it fits in with everyones tidy little belief system (that everything to do with Saints is going to hell in a handcart) we have 3 pages of handwringing and 'woe is me...' Incidentally, in light of comments above and similar to another post on here.... would you accept administration if it got rid of Alpine?..... it would certainly represent a very tempting scenario in my eyes. I don't believe this rumour personally.
  6. I always maintained that nothing would delight you more than for this club to go down the ****ter because you care more about being right than you do about this club of ours. Thank you for confirming my suspicions. Looks like I'm a fairly good judge of character doesn't it really. There's a lot of other things I think you are also, I'm sure most could have stab at guessing some of them, I suspect I am pretty close to the mark with these as well.
  7. You rang? Working from home today so not subject to filters and the like. I think this is a very interesting debate. However, I would say that this 'Agnostic' campaign (not many atheists would ackowledge any likelihood of a god) was launched in response to a campaign promoting religion, so it's not like these guys were spoiling for a fight, they just were hacked off at organised religions need to badger everyone else into believing the same as them. FWIW, the main guy behind the whole thing is something of a d1ck (and is arguably worse then those he criticises) but I heartily support this campaign myself.
  8. I'm with you here. I can't afford to take my son to too many games currently so tend to pick and choose games or go on my own occasionally, I did take him to the Forest game because it represented good value (and I already had tickets for the manure game through a mate). If I could get tickets for me and my son for £25 combined then that would seem a fair price to me and ensure I went much more often.
  9. The same Matty Fryatt who was (a year ago) not scoring many goals for Leicester in the Championship you mean?
  10. I am in full agreement with Chez and Ewell. I think DMc has all the attributes to be an excellent player he holds the ball up well, has good control and involves others well, often having to keep the ball under pressure from 2 or 3 men. Some of the service he has received has been laughable. He isn't scoring hatfuls but has still managed 7 this season which is not bad going in anyones book and certainly not for someone who is only likely to improve. People were writing KJ off as clumsy and lazy in his first season and they were wrong then as well
  11. I seem to remember that he was ideally suited to a 4-3-3 formation, he was too attacking to be an orthodox wide player but didn't score enough for stiker. I can see why Arry would have taken against him.... the nob. I think he'd bring some much needed pace and trickery to the side, although I seem to recall there were, unsubstantiated rumours that he and Folly were disruptive and had attitude problems... which is a shame because they both showed great promise when they broke into the team. To be honest we could do a lot worse than simply re-signing all the academy players that Redknapp and Burley let go for peanuts.
  12. Was anyone paying attention the other day when it was revealed that we had more shots on goal than anyone in the league? Our trouble is putting the chances away, this is not down to system but down to the ability of our attackers to shoot and score and partly down to confidence, IMHO. I don't see the benefit in playing a flexible 4-4-2 ahead of playing a flexible 4-3-3 if they're both flexible then they'll generally rarely be either 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 in the purest sense. The only trouble with the system is we don't have the natural wide players currently, I would like to see Holmes and BWP as our wide men when Holmes is fit, 4-3-3 requires pace, Chelsea were at their most lethal when they had Robbens pace supplementing Drogba.
  13. All I will add to this ridiculous thread is that I am very glad the know nothing, virtual village mob, didn't manage to hound out last seasons 'hate figure/fallguy' cos without Kelvin we'd be fooked this season. Should McG mature into a good player you'll all be moaning about how he'll probably be sold to the highest bidder (doubtless to line Lowes pockets or some other such nonsense).
  14. Yeah he's rubbish he is, will never make the grade.
  15. Ah so this season McGoldrick is the 'hate figure' that's good to know. It's important that us Saints fans find at least one player on our own team to abuse and despise. FWIW I thought McGoldrick held the ball up brilliantly against Palace his first touch and control are consistently good and IF the system worked in terms of providing him with willing runners on the overlap then we'd be doing pretty well. That fact that he is getting little support does him no favours but as far as I can see he is doing nothing wrong at all, he was tracking back and putting himself about so neither 'crap' or 'lazy' his finishing might not be there yet but hopefully that will come in time and he'll need games to get there. But obviously it makes sense to slate him and destroy his confidence and hopefully get him dropped... what with all the quality we have in reserve.
  16. People aren't really looking for progress though, people are looking for more evidence that things are getting worse and it's 'the worst thing that could ever happen EVER... oh noes....' TM Any kind of result would represent progress on last season, yes. I must say it's amusing to read Alpine talking KD up these days, if it'd been up to him we'd have given him away for peanuts last season and be in a right state currently. Personally if we finish the season a place or two higher than last season then it's job done as far as I'm concerned, I suspect other people are yet to manage their expectations down to a 'realistic' level yet (some seem to have their expectations still set a 'prem' which probably explains some of the 'angst'). Is Alpine still stalking Burley these days? Or has he got over his obsession?
