In order what decade was the best time supporting Saints
KelvinsRightGlove replied to chocco boxo's topic in The Saints
This decade Noughties. In my defence, only been a Saints fan since around 01/02, when my Dad got an ST at St. Mary's. -

I love Sheridan Smith, still looks gorgeous. Good on all of 'em.

If that was true, why is puncheon now hero worshipped, whilst Gaston constantly slated? Goals & Assists combined, Gaston contributed more in less games last season. Lets not also foget all this "I'd rather we didn't blow £20m on a Carlos Kickball" when we were linked with Leandro Damiao over the summer.

God I love The Simpsons, this is genius

So because there are also other issues, or nasty chants, that means nothing should be done to tackle homophobia? Do you actually think that in the history of English football, Justin Fashnau was the only gay player? Is it really acceptable that no other person has ever felt able to come out - or that they should have to hide it? -

Probably a bad idea even starting this, but some nasty stuff going down in Washington: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-24120333 Reports of shots heard at the White House too. Sorry...

Wasn't there someone on this thread a couple of weeks back said they just started?

Lulz. It's funny, it's widely believed a number of hitlers closest were in fact gay. -
The reason gaston is slaughtered is because he came with a big price tag (not his fault),is South American (not his fault), and doesn't run around like a headless chicken (not his job). People bleat about what a poor decision it was to let puncheon go, but, Gaston turned in a higher combined goals & assists total in less games last season. Yes, he is inconsistent, show me a young player that isn't.

In fairness to j-rod , he created a few chances yesterday, so it isn't his fault those chances weren't taken.

Crikey, Stuzza again. What a signing he is turning out to be.

Do people seriously still think all gay men are like Louis Spence? "Gay men can't be good at sports, they are basically birds. Maybe something like gymnastics" Completely neglecting the openly out rugby players, and American Football players. The whole, it's not in their genetics things is a nonsense of the highest order. -

The Victor Wanyama/Jack Cork debate

Not really no. The problem yesterday was finishing. At times the build up play wasn't good enough, and when we made chances - a few when you actually think about it (Osvaldo, Rickie's shot, Lallana 1-on-1, Lambert off the bar) the finishing was lacking. I think Gaston may have been what was needed yesterday. -

I do feel sorry for clubs sometimes. They really can't do anything right. LLP I think your point about selection is fair, but likewise, if he chopped and changed every game he would be clueless, and accused of not knowing his best team. I'd be worried if VW was playing bad for a longer period 4-5 games and cork still wasn't on the bench. -

I understand what you are getting at, but in games such as yesterday or Sunderland, I don't think it would really have helped, as neither of those sides got out of shape. They pushed no men forward, and just plonked 10 men behind the ball for most of the game. Cork isn't the answer to that.
