Dude. Why?
-
What exactly are you insinuating Mikey? Great band though, love their album.
-
Donors never come under question either.
-
Or, maybe people should know the opinions behind a relatively new party? Yes, all parties have racists, but should we ignore for that reason?
-
What about Chairperson? Gotta be super kat for me.

Next season, Saints will have a kit. Some will like it, some won't. Some will buy it, others won't. The season after, Saints will have a new kit. Some will like it, some won't. Some will buy it, others won't. Saints, like every other club, have had all sorts of kits. It really is not the end of the world.

Guly pretty much confirms he is leaving Saints this summer
KelvinsRightGlove replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Yep, totally agree with this. Basically, Guly is Brazilian so lazy, whereas Jason is English and runs so is clearly better. All the best to Guly, not a Prem player, but as said always put in a shift and seems a well liked guy by the squad. Would love him to bang one in against Utd next week. -
It's funny isn't it, for a party that is not racist, and does not play up to racists, there sure seems to be a lot of racists (add to that sexists and homophobes) in the party also. http://wehuntedthemammoth.com/2014/05/03/uk-political-donor-demetri-marchessini-women-in-trousers-are-destroying-western-civilization/ In an interview last week with Britain’s Channel 4, Marchessini expounded at length on some of his more colorful views. He told interviewer Michael Crick that marital rape was impossible, because “you can’t have rape if you make love on Friday and make love on Sunday, you can’t say Saturday is rape. Once the woman accepts, she accepts.” He argued that there is no such thing as homosexual love, only lust, because “they go out at nights and they pick up 5, 10, 15 different partners in one night.” Even gays in committed relationships are basically just roommates who still cruise for anonymous sex partners. And he suggested that black slaves were better off as slaves in America than they would have been living in Africa, because if they survived the passage they lived longer. Elena Baltacha former British Number 1 dies at. 30!
KelvinsRightGlove replied to John Boy Saint's topic in The Lounge
Just read this. So sad. Rip, her poor husband. -
Sorry Windows mate, I simply cannot agree with any of that. We produce a lot of very good players, far more than any other club. Look at all the Prem/Championship players that started off at us. Yeah there is the glamour types like Theo, Ox Bale but also the dyer's, surman's etc. Can't imagine the cost of developing Shaw, Chambers, JWP & Lallana would come to a fraction of trying to purchase anyone of those players. At worst, they leave and we get a huge fee for them. The idea that you can buy better players for cheaper, as you suggest above, simply does not ring true. FWIW, our academy is one of the things I love most about Saints, along with our commitment to put faith in the youngsters. I know we've discussed this before, so we clearly aren't going to change each other's minds.

Why do you hate the kids so Windows? I think he's looked decent in the games I've seen him (granted I didn't see him yesterday). Thought he had a good game against Everton, was putting himself about a bit. I don't think the lack of gumption comment is at all fair. We didn't get anyone in in Jan, there really is no point moaning about it now. We've still got an 8th place finish, and our best ever Premier League finish, it's hardly been an awful season. He's just a lad, no problem with him playing in these dead rubber matches. Would love to see Reed get a start against Utd next week. I've seen nothing to suggest Gallagher can't become a good player for us. Hopefully the club have got him looking to and working closely with Rickie.

How is saying it in front of a rolling camera, filming for one of the most watched shows in the world (like it or not Top Gear really is) 'private'? I don't think he was being racist, and simply saying the word is not racist. That is not what I am saying. But, the rhyme, which many people used to say a lot when they were kids etc is racist. It clearly is. Hence my point, just because something used to be acceptable, does not mean it should always be. The fact somethings are no longer acceptable should be applauded and celebrated, not seen as political correctness gone mad.
-
I'm torn. I don't think he was neccessarilly attempting to be racist, I think he was just being pretty dumb. He's old enough and experienced enough (pretty sure he's been on camera regularly longer than I have been alive) to know it's a dumb thing to do. That isn't really the point I was making though, was it? Just because people used to say things all the time 10/20/30/40 years ago - doesn't make it acceptable, people being offended by that behaviour in the present is not 'political correctness gone mad'. There was a time when slavery was acceptable, and common. Now it is not. Is that political correctness gone mad, or progress?

Yeah pap, I was convinced until I spotted that they are taking donations to stand in the elections. Unless someone has found a great way to monetize idiots. Before you start Pap, hush.
-
It's like ignorance by numbers.

Has anyone seen this Facebook page? It's utterly hilarious. It took me quite a while to work out whether it was sincere, or just trolling the idiotic and ignorant. Anyway, worth a look: https://www.facebook.com/britainfirstgb

I was going to start a thread about this earlier but got distracted. The only places I have seen this reported are, the Daily Mail (shocker) and a Facebook page called Britain First (I was also going to do a TMS thread about this, as it is blooming hilarious), which hardly makes me think it is 100% legit. Utter nonsense people getting so worked up about it. It's not as if you have to go to Subway. There's plenty of places that will still serve bacon.
-
True, the two are separate issues I think.
-
I don't buy this - "oh, we used to do x, y, z way back when" stuff. People were segregated, and oppressed way back when. And now they are not. It is called progress. Things change, just because racism and use of racist language was more tolerated a while back, does not mean that should carry on forever. It's not political correctness, it's progress ffs.
-
Give 'em both a start, why not? Barring two batterings we are 8th anyway. Run out will do the lads good.
-
It's was before that I think. More like 2007, maybe. It was not long after Wide Awake? When was that? Haha they need not apologise. They looked like they had been having fun.
-
Sounds quality. I do love that track.
-
Fair enough. That's very encouraging if true. I'm sure I've said to you before, I've just tired of trying to stick up for him. I used to, and it just got pointless. He's certainly doing alright out of this one, according to Pete, he & Carl are going to pocket £500k each!
