  1. This will not make me popular but it should be remembered that the money sky pay means that you can watch one of the best leagues in the world at a vastly subsidised price (Only a fraction of club revenues now come from ticket sales). They do not do that out of the goodness of their hearts, but because they can make money and they do that by showing as many games as possible which means moving games to a variety of kickoff times.
  2. Can people stop calling bournemouth bompey. It´s not clever and actually sounds a bit pathetic.
  3. Indeed.. you would never guess where the BBC are based these days would you!
  4. Should have been lifetime bans really. Unfortunately football will always attract the odd low life chav with little intelligence. These people´s only release is to shout abuse every Saturday for 90 minutes and claim it is "part of football" or "banter" as people have tried to do above. Well it is a part of football that the vast majority of bright and reasonable people would rather do without. Hopefully these 2 will do some growing up in the next 3 years.
  5. Can only agree with all the comments above. We seem to have ended up in a situation where people, and football clubs in this case, seem to be trying to outdo each other in their tributes. And what is even worse is the self satisfied back slapping about it all. Isn´t football great because of the wembley tributes, aren´t i caring because i changed my facebook status to a tricolour or used the je suis charlie hastag etc etc.. It is not that these tributes are no appropriate. Certainly the wembley one was the right thing to do, but it is supposed to be a somber reflection of a horrific event, not a chance to feel all good inside because you took part in a tribute.
  6. Did the membership offer say anything about guaranteeing a seat or did it just say you got priority? If it just said priority then there is nothing to see here and the OP is nonsense.

    Wanyama

This is not meant in anyway as a criticism of you Webby, but a lot of fans tend to measure a player´s worth on how much effort they are perceived to be putting in.. It´s that thing of giving their all for the shirt etc etc which fans love. I get that, but in terms of effectiveness, I would rather someone like Wanyama in midfield, who reads the game so well, breaks up the play, often without the need to run about like a headless chicken. How often did you see Patrick Vierra sprint? Or Claud Makelele? That does not mean they were not committed to the cause.

    Wanyama

Disagree completely with this. He is possible our most important player. Breaks so much down in midfield and reads the game superbly. Maybe not the best on the ball (we have Davis/JWP for that) but it is the often unseen work he does that frustrates teams and makes us so hard to beat. Luckily (kind of) we will be without him now so we can see the impact of dropping him in the next game.
  9. I hate these "should be in the premier league" arguments. It is not a "biggest fanbase" league, or a "most history" league. It is a league for the 20 best teams in the country. If you are not one of those then you shouldn´t be there, its that simple.
  10. Much as I like a bit of flaming lips, I dont see that ever taking off. This one is probably the best and simple enough for our limited fan base! Yoshida woooah Yoshida woooahh He eats lots of sushi He facking hates Pompey
  11. Yesterday by a mile... OT was a bit of a smash and grab, yesterday we totally outplayed the current champions.
  12. It's a long shot but if anyone has a spare for Watford please let me know.. I don't get to many games as live in Spain but suddenly I have a free day in London this weekend so would love to go. Will happily pay face value, booking costs and a pint.
  13. Not an issue as such, but to go on about how great it is when all we have done is taken another song and changed the name is a bit much. I´m trying to think of original saints songs that we invented (i.e. a tune not used by other teams) in recent years.. Think Our Claus was original.. since then I´m struggling.
  14. Just copied the Villa song for Benteke. Embarrassing really.
  15. That was my first ever kit (7th birthday I think) so I would beg to differ purely for sentimental reasons.
  16. not a great draw.. nice for Koeman to go back to a former club but there were lots of easier teams we could have got.
  17. Great shout, was right behind the goal when it went in.. stadium was buzzing.
  18. Sorry to be sentimental.. but I think the goal I celebrated the most was my first ever game, Matt Le Tissier v Wimbledon in 1994. I was 9 at the time.. went absolutely nuts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuIX5iB16GI The Monkou goal against Norwich and the own goal in FA cup semi against Watford would be up there as well.
  19. Priority is a very vague term. The club should be transparent now about what the priority pecking order will be. Will a member who has been to 6 away games be above, the same or below a season ticket holder who has been to none? That is the kind of thing that should be clarified before they start taking people´s cash..
  20. As others have said, the ads you see say much more about you than the club. I for example get adverts for penis extension and dating websites.. As for the club getting political, other than encouraging people to vote, they should probably keep clear. (Vote tory!)
  21. Agree. He is also refreshingly honest in front of the cameras. If we have played crap he will say so. Very few managers do that.
  22. zzzzzzz Football fans are so pathetic. He worked for us and did a great job. Then another (bigger) company suggested they might want to sign him, he naturally encouraged that and, when offered a better contract by that bigger club he accepted. That´s life. It really is not a big deal. And all this "its the way he went about it" nonsense. Grow up. Why don´t fans realise that to most players a football club is just an employer like any other. And why should it be anything else? Just because some fans need their football club to take their minds of their crappy lives does not mean a successful and ambitious footballer should give some extra loyalty to an employer above what most of us would give to ours. Lallana is a Southampton Legend in my opinion for what he did with us and nothing he does subsequently (I hope he does well) will change that. No doubt St Marys will be full of Morons chanting stupid songs and venting their feux anger at the weekend. All a bit tragic really.

    Yellow Shirt

I think everyone has a soft spot for their first ever kit. Mine was the Dimplex away kit made by pony which I think was around 1993. Was Blue/navy blue stripes but had the V just like the home kit did. When I grew out of it was passed down to my sister who lost it. Next away kit was the Sanderson yellow one but was not the same.
  24. FA cup. Of course, playing at the most famous grounds in Europe would be amazing but in 40 years time nobody would remember that. A different level I know, but who remembers our 1-1 draw with Bucharest? We still talk about 1976 and even the 2003 final. That is my purely view as a fan. Obviously, considering the financial implications, the management probably have a very different view and that is fair enough.
  25. Some chavs have dressed up as a convicted rapist while holding a club flag... giggle giggle.....?? I´m sure his victim (who has had to change her identity 5 times) had a chuckle as well.
