great post. totally unrelated: van damme signing for wolves and the lady is moving in in august.

I was born in Liège and Standard v. Real Madrid in 1969 was my 1st football game ever. It was my 6th birthday present. I now follow my local team (Mons who are in the playoffs to get back in div. 1 one year after relegation)

There's for you: He definitely is not a bad player at all. Just that Saints and him at that time were a mismatch. I deffo couldn't hate more any other club than the one he plays for, but I'm a fan of his.
-
Fair play to him he's just been absolutely brilliant this season. And I hate Anderlecht just as much as you hate P*mpey.

I've always had a soft spot for Bournemouth, probably because it was at Dean Court that I had my first taste of English football ever. So wholehearted congrats to them - especially under those very difficult circumstances, them getting promoted is no mean feat - and I look forward to attending both games next season, wearing the stripes of course.

@ benjii: Don't know if your message was intended as a joke, but please no Rocha. Slower than my dead grandmother. He must have a very good agent, though, as his contract in Belgium was terminated early and he found a way to make money down the road.

In terms of sheer talent, no. Matty was simply one of a kind. But in terms of impact and considering the differences in divisions, then he certainly is as important for Saints this season as Matty was in the PL days.

Wouldn't be realistic, but then again Sven picked Theo. Let's have a dream, it doesn't do anyone any harm. Come to think of it, the best scoring Belgian side at the moment plays in the 4th local regional league (the lowest you can think of) with over 150 goals and 3 strikers sharing 100 of them .

A mate of mine who knows I'm Saints through and through happened to be in London on Sunday for some other football game (he works for a travel agency that organises trips to London football games - Chelski, Gooners, etc.) posted on my facebook wall: "The town is red & white. This is beautiful. How proud you must be". You bet I was!

I just loved it! Massive thank you's to everyone involved and congrats to 44,000 thousand Saints fans at Wembley for the atmosphere they created. COYR! -
you're such a bore. rzzzzzzzzz!

FFS! Being 11th in the league (+ cup run & JPT) after being close to having no club, starting on - 10 and precious little pre-season is a major achievement! I understand NC wants results and he's right to do so, but a top 6 finish is too big an ask. No manager on earth can be asked to put a team together in August and make it to the top right away. It doesn't make any bloody sense. Fergie couldn't do it, Arsène couldn't do it, Hodgson couldn't do it, nor could Mourinho or whoever. It's fair to say that if Saints aren't in the running for automatic promotion by Xmas AP would have somehow failed, but until then let him go on with his job.

The drubbing we had all been waiting for. Took ages to comen but here it is. I love it.

should be 2 or 3-0 by now. who's the premiership team?

Excellent read. Thanks for posting that, Shurlock.

Excellent read. Can't believe how signing Keegan worked out. Had to laugh.
-
fingers crossed for atdhe.net to work. hasn't been brilliant of late :-(

People might / will say it's only the JPT, but hey! WEM-BER-LEY sounds like music to my ears. Well done saints!
-
omfg! they have signed ricardo rocha! he was out of favour at spuds before moving to standard liege and didn't even manage to make it in belgium. they've loaded him off the wage bill after six months. no pace, poor positioning, a total waste of time. any pacey forward will kill him in a minute. hope he plays against saints on feb 13.
-
seems they have yet another new owner http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/feb/03/balram-chainrai-portsmouth-owner

I read that yesterday or a few days ago on the Beeb's gossip column that Bournemouth are said to want £ 800,000 for Pittman. We know ML has the cash, bit is Pittman worth that much?
