I don't think Gallas actually knew the goal was hooky. He was at the end of the cross and headed the ball instinctively. Henry's attitude however baffles me as he has always had a reputation for fair play. Now, with so much money involved...

The commentators on French TV (Wenger included) were clearly embarrassed. Post-game analysis by Lizarazu was unequivocal and almost sympathetic to the brave Irish. That goal should never have stood.

Only saw the second half, but it looked like an easy, comfy win with Charlton hardly ever looking a threat. Llalana and Lambert really stood out.

With the Chelsea transfer ban lifted and a possible spending spree in January, have Saints' chances to extend Mellis's loan / sign him on a permanent basis increased?

Pretty much in agreement, except perhaps for Schneiderlin and Hammond. Not that they stole the show, but you must give them credit for the fact that you didn't see much of their direct opponents either. Perhaps AP asked them to do just that: keep the opposition quiet in which case they did a very good job. Just a thought. And the assist for the 1st goal was Lallana's indeed.

Jaidi and Antonio were absolutely superb. Connolly did the business in the box. 1st half a bit shaky. Game woke up (and how!) from restart on. Excellent 2nd half, even though we conceded those 2 late goals. Great win.

Lived dangerously for 15-20 mins, but we're through. Well done, guys.
