  1. I think others have made the points. He's tired, defences know our game a little better and he's being asked to do a lot for the team. Would not write him off anytime soon but will be interesting to see how we use him next year, no question he can fit into the way MP plays but not sure he can close down for ninety mins week in week out , hopefully we'l have options next year
  2. Maybe a loan spell, if he could show something for a championship team next year he's young enough for that to be considered a good sign rather then having "found his level".
  3. Oh if I had a choice i'd love to see Sunderland go down after how smug Di Canio is! Wigan I can take or leave just hate all the "its a miracle" cries every season and the ott praise of martinez (he's good for sure but some of the motd lot go rather overboard!). Have a few villa supporting friends and I like the club. Bringing through young english players, playing positive brave football (unlike one up top sunderland!) and Lambert comes across like a top bloke.
  4. Never get bored do you Not fancy any of the three to come good next season?
  5. Anybody got post match reaction from MP yet? BBC live text didnt have him or Paolo but had other managers, would be nice to hear his thoughts on the game and a bit of looking forward. For example is he likely to rotate a little for stoke? Would be cracking to see a few of the young players on the fringes at least make the bench (though that might just be me! I know a win means we could finish higher and have a few more bob).
  6. Spot on! Let's not forget he was in the england squad before an injury disrupted him and earning rave reviews. Has he had his best season, no but you can bet he'l be determined to push on next year. Captain or not he's been, and is, a cracking player for us and a massive part of all that is good about our club.
  7. I'd like to say well done to all who made the long trip up! Were in cracking voice for near on ninety minutes even after we conceded! I heard the sunderland fans about three times in the entire game which was dissapointing. Also I know some dont like it because it's "anti pompey" etc but nice to hear Poch have his own song, hopefully it can get going at the Stoke game
  8. We get it .. you don't like lallana ... can you not just change your name to adam lallana is a c**t so you can stop banging on about it?
  9. Thank feck for that! Stoke game will be a terrific day now! Im thinking Walsall back in league one, us up them staying up, this time both sides staying up
  10. Ok we can take the season apart next week after Stoke but we are staying up! Oh and that absolute berk alpine was wrong! Delighted!
  11. We are safe. Wigan win both there games then, short of us conceding less then twelve, Villa will be below us. we are safe!
  12. Good run at the end but Davis has looked a touch pedestrian to me, wont be too shocked to see him off in the second for punch or jwp if he keeps missing his passes.
  13. Agree actually. I understand the training top criticism but, frankly, this actually looks nice and includes some level of red and white stripes. Not seen much better if im honest but haven't liked a saints shirt for a while with the exception, funnily enough, of the 125 year sash one.
  14. We've had similar discussions on another thread and I think we concluded Trippier can play lb or rb comfortably so could cover clyne and shaw (provided we dont get gamez).
  15. Err no. There's a difference between getting glares for acting like a d**k and somebody trying to take your head off. They're certainly in the minority. But yeah my local in fratton, landlord is diehard pompey, it is a pompey pub. I would think somebody turning up in the le tiss arms in a pompey shirt would get told where to go too and rightly so. There's a difference between being a fan of a different club or just being an antagonistic tw*t.
  16. Oh come on that's just silly. You do that and it looks like you'r on the wind up and may well deserve being told where to go. I maintain, day to day, you tell somebody in portsmouth you'r a saints fan they'l call you a c**t then forget about it. Most football fans are frankly happy to talk football. That and you'l find plenty of them will now also enjoy a good mutual "isnt that harry a w**nker" conversation.
  17. Oh yeah you'l always find a few total tw*ts who use football as an excuse to have a scrap but you'r right it's mostly just good natured competion.
  18. I think most sensible people its a friendly sporting rivalry, good for a bit of banter and bragging rights. I happen to live in portsmouth and, though I wont go into the local clad in a saints shirt, get nothing worse then a bit of stick for being a saints fan (never goes well when they crack on about losing to spurs when you ask if they're looking forwards to torquay away!)
  19. Not sure the exact date but mine came over a week ago ... seems a bit mixed though but worth chasing up either way even if they just confirm they're en route
  20. I've always liked Jake Humphreys. No idea how Ferdinand and Owen will be though ...
  21. One a proven international chased by other premiership sides and has had a couple of months. The other had yet to play a first team game and had five years... You'r right, they're basically identical.
  22. Is this in the pie queue in the concourse...?
  23. Done, keep up the good work pal, the best saints related blog around!
  24. I quite like him actually but havent seen too much of him. Besides you don't get near the dutch squad being awful, how much better then awful is perfectly fair to speculate on though
