  1. i think we will see a different look cup side come january when the fa cup comes around. this cup, i believe, is something MP is using to test out the squad. like it or not, he has a way of doing things, and i think he he going about it in the right way. of course i would love to field the strongest side every time, but as has been said, we are nowhere near the likes of chelsea, city, arsenal where we can do that with a second string. it will be dissapointing to lose tonight, and to be honest, i don't think we will, but if we do, it has not eneded our season, like so many other years gone by when it was the only chance to do anything. two - one to us and a home tie against chelsea in the next round. home win against hull with a fully fit first team squad and then.......who knows where!
  2. i said this earlier on. if you are going to go to the hull, sunderland, newcastle games, you are going anyway. a couple of quid off a ticket will not make a huge difference. the only real thing making any significant choice to be had, is if they rearrange the time of kick off, or the actual date of the match, and as we all know, this is not something the club can help out with at all. there is an arguement for a small brain stomring session with the fans, but yet again, who ever is in the room at the time, will come up with some ideas, good bad and ridiculous, and whatever is put forward, you will have a large amount of people slagging off the ideas as not reasonable. let the club make up it's mind what it is doing and judge it in hindsight, when we have the power to see if it was the right option. as yet, NC doesn't seem to be making too many crap decisions. strange ones at the time, but with the power of hindsight, he just gets better and better in my eyes.
  3. never met him but thoughts and best wishes to his family. sad to hear of any ex saint passing.
  4. just to stop the hatred and bile directed at our club for a minute- away fans, ticket prices, et al- would you all like to think of something nice and footbally. who is your favourite englishman, scotsman, welshman, irishman north and south to have played for the saints. he doesn't have to have been an internationally recognised cap, just your favourite one from there. if you can, only name ones you have seen play, i would love to say davies for wales, but alas, i'm too young, but also, only what they did for the saints. so again you really have to rule out bale, i would have thought. i don't want to get too obvious, as in le tiss, we all know what he did for us, but your own heart of hearts favs. if it is le tiss, good on you. i honestly look forward to seeing some surprising results. england jimmy case scotland joe jordan wales barry horne n ireland chris nicholl r ireland mickey evans i know some are limited, but it's only a bit of fun - no slagging anyone please!
  5. it does seem strange, when they could put up free buses for games like hull or the sunderland away ones, but like has been said by others, if you are going to go, a free bus isn't going to make much of a difference, when in reality, it is the time of kick off, or the actual day of the game when it is played. let's be honest, next year when we are in europe, that's when the subsidised travel will really come in handy.
  6. This is not arrogance. Arrogance is what I grew up with in the 80's when man utd fans proclaimed themselves as the biggest and best club in the world, even though they were light years behind everyone else. Ours is a new found confidence that comes from us not being sh1t anymore. Shout it from the rooftops!
  7. Strongish side, I would say three starters from stoke but still taking it serious. Next round and that's when the full side gets played. Yes we need to take every game as one we need to win, but we still have a relatively small squad that doesn't need to be stretched if helped.
  8. I don't care, it gives us an air of mystery that all other clubs can only dream of!
  9. Sorry for the silliness, I couldn't help it. We all knew who you meant.
  10. Go away. The whole point is to get better and by that we have to play in Europe. If this year it is that worse of the two leagues, so be it, but there can be no way we decline!
  11. Oh god! Break out the sweatbuckets, we will be on tv talked about and we all know how embarrassing that is!
  12. I would love to see the fonte / mayuka partnership in the prem. Not least as isn't mayuka a forward now on loan in France? I'm sure yoshida or jos would make adequate short term stop gaps. Out of personal interest, I wasn't a fan of boruc when we signed him, but I now rate him as highly as I did niemi and am very pleased he is ours and for him I would hate to see him missing. I believe as others have said, he gives the confidence to the back four/six to play their way. It is great and we should all thank the football gods boruc is ours and stays fit.
  13. Doesn't seem to be, the way our manager is talking. Onwards and upwards!
  14. There was a lot of fuss made when we went the first few weeks letting in very few goals, and records were talked about. Where do we stand now, and what if we go this weekend without conceding? I know it's a bit statto but some people love this, me included.
  15. but when we are getting mentioned in the press, whether it is others or ourselves, people on here are so quick to slag off and shout embarrassment. they are only filling a quota, and that won't change until we consistently win things. hold your breath for that one. i for one am glad it's on, don't care when, it's all good news. who knows, as has been said before, if results go our way, we could be second by tea time, and no-one would have seen us doing it!
  16. do you work for sky? if not, why the heck do viewing figures matter to you? we aren't a fashionable team so we won't be on the box more than once a month, unless the matches get tasty at the sharp end of the season. i couldn't give a flying monkey if no one watched us, just so long as we are still playing and i get my fix of the mighty saints!
  17. isn't it still three points for a win? then surely, after the eight games, it will be 8 x 3 = 24 points. how hard was that?
  18. don't take it so seriously, for us, the fans, treat it as a bit of fun. we have all supported the saints long enough not to get carried away with it. when it comes to the end of the season and we are near the sharp end, then we can get worried, until then, laugh it up, it's tremendous fun, you know.
  19. why does it depend on if they are bothered or not? i have seen some games where the opponents really try hard, but we are better than then them, and we win. surely, as our manager knows, you can only affect our performances and not wait on what other people do. unless reacting to mistakes, but then again, that is our readiness again.
  20. I don't really care what anyone else says about the swansea game, but for me Morgan was excellent. He is truly one of those players some of the fans will not really appreciate until he is no longer there and then we cry out for him. Won't have many worldy games but he should be one of the first names on the sheet every week.
  21. Only the away kits!
  22. Are you likening him to a monkey, or calling him a monkey? I think there is a difference and as such you are a racist!
  23. Yet again it is the rainbow laces all over. There is no story without some halfwit trying to make up offence and get something going. Why do kick it out need to get involved?
  24. Does he know anything about boruc?
  25. Yes please. Rooney off, Lambert on and show them how to do it! I wasn't sure about boruc when we first signed him, but by Jove I really rather like the chap now!
