Since then, Speaker Mike Johnson has refused to swear her into office, claiming he won't do so until the Democrats agree to pass the stalled Finance Bill, the cause of the Government shutdown. Alternatively, he won't sign her in as there needs to be 218 signatories to a Discharge Petition that would force a vote to release the Epstein files, overriding Johnson's and Trump's attempts to block it. Currently there are 217 signatures, Grijalva would become the 218th.
