  1. He could at least have done you the courtesy of spelling your name correctly.
  2. SOG, you appear to be getting a bit paranoid. The first response to your OP was "Why is it 'not right'", querying your assertion about her not appearing in Court. This is a genuine question, warranted by your statement, and led to a polite and informed discussion of the rights and wrongs of the current Legal position, and the potential problems on either side of the equation. Currently the Law and CPS guidelines state that she did not have to attend. Until and unless the Law is changed this will remain the case.
  3. The Red Germans.
  4. Their nationalities were varied but their language was German. It is simpler to collect them together rather than list Hessians, Hanoverians, Brunswickers, Saxons, Prussians, Thuringians, Nassauers, Bavarians, etc.
  5. Much of Wellington's army at Waterloo were German, as were Blucher's Prussians.

  7. Aneurin Donald says otherwise 🙂
  8. I have already made 1 observation, which didn't seem to elicit a response. Starting his argument with what appears to be an incorrect assertion hardly sells the rest of the interview to me. And fwiw I have downloaded the IPCC report.
  9. Where, other than the words of Koonin, is the evidence he IS correct ?
  10. Greater Manchester shelved it's original ULEZ scheme then produced Plan B, whereby charges would only apply to commercial vehicles entering the city centre, and currently has stopped everything whilst new 'modelling' is carried out.
  11. Whilst it might be highly unusual, nevertheless the CPS guidelines state; "..... unless the court is satisfied that the defendant has waived the right to attend, and the trial will be fair despite the defendant’s absence."
  12. But whilst all cars are liable for the CC charging zone, only non-compliant ones pay for ULEZ. As Fan the Flames said, if this was solely a taxation scam then just extend the CC zone.
  13. If your "perfectly decent car" is petrol engined and less than 18 years old it should be fine as it is EU4 compliant, so no worries.
  14. All complaint and no solution. It's not as if congestion charging was thought up by those 'small Government' 'low taxation' Tories.

Well it is definitely the front end of a TU-22.

  17. Not according to this, a defendant can waive their attendance in Court; https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/defendants-refusal-attend-court-0

It is one of a set of pictures from a Russian source and published on TELEGRAM. This is a satellite image from before the attack that is reported to show the aircraft that was hit; ( from what I can work out, the image was taken on 16th August and released on 21st, after the attack, hence the confusing script in the top left )

Those Russian false flag ops are becoming more effective.
  20. Not at all, hence "The bulk of the heat energy in the atmosphere comes from the sun", but since 1750 probably, and since 1900 certainly. It is the acceleration over 250 years that is human influenced, not the general trend over 30 thousand. Crap analogy; If the cold tap in your bath is running water into your bath at the rate of the maximum outflow through the drain hole the bath will not fill up. If you then turn on the hot tap slightly, the bath will eventually overflow. It's how far we might be throwing a system out of balance that matters, and it doesn't take a lot in comparison to the size of the overall system.

What, like the TELEGRAM thread is response to the death of a 6 year old Ukrainian girl in a missile strike, where someone put up a fake advert for childrens' shoes "no longer needed", and got over 40 thousand likes? Or perhaps the video chat on mainstream Russian TV where they discussed how to deal with Ukrainians ; If they don't want to be Russians then shoot them, beat them around the head with rifle butts and knock their teeth out to change their minds, or deport them all to Poland. Then again, maybe the gleeful news item about the successful strike of a ballistic missile on a theatre in Chernihiv, killing or injuring over a hundred people ? There you go, I have saved you the bother.
  22. Currently on the BBC Sport website cricket page, 11 of the top 14 articles and videos are of the fucking Hundred. Not a mention of the one day cup.
  23. He distorts things to suit his narrative. Early on he says that human activity is responsible for 1% of the heat energy in the atmosphere. Whilst this may be true, and the IPCC report does not have anything to say on this figure, it is disingenuous. The bulk of the heat energy in the atmosphere comes from the sun - without it the Earth would be a frozen inert block, and this energy keeps the temperature at a range suitable for life - currently at about 288 Kelvin average by his reckoning, ( 288 degrees above absolute zero - although he does seem to get his numbers confused as he actually says that the average temperature is about 300K ( 27C ) ). His 1% claim seems to be based on increasing this 288K, or 15 degrees Celcius average, by a small percentage, perhaps to 291K. Measured in Kelvin this seems to be insignificant, but this actually increases things by more than the 1.5 degrees the IPCC sets as a threshhold. What the IPCC report does state is "Human activities, principally through emissions of greenhouse gases, have unequivocally caused global warming, "
  24. This is a view of Koonin from the more mainstream media..... https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/a-new-book-manages-to-get-climate-science-badly-wrong/ ".....Koonin’s intervention into the debate about what to do about climate risks seems to be designed to subvert this progress in all respects by making distracting, irrelevant, misguided, misleading and unqualified statements ....." ( You pay your money, you make your choice. )
