The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

I know politicians are famous for rehashing old promises and dressing them up as new ideas, but surely Rishi could have done better than this..... https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/government-pledges-extend-metrolink-line-27842632 "The Government has pledged to extend the Metrolink line to Manchester Airport - where it has already existed for almost nine years". -
By that logic, every match in which MOTD shows a refereeing error should be replayed. Then what happens if in the replay there is another mistake ? Bloody bin dipping victim culture.

Kevin McCarthy ousted as Speaker as all the Democrats in the House vote with 8 Republicans. McCarthy becomes a victim of the concessions he was forced to make when going though 15 votes to get the position. One Democrat, referencing the splits in the Republicans, says "Let the civil war begin".

Watching the Channel 4 docu-drama about Partygate, based on the Sue Grey report. Fucking Hoorays more concerned with "Wine Time Friday" and karaoke than following their own rules. -
Can't see that ref being given another Stoke home match for a while.
-
Is he wearing Che's boots ?
-
Supermix or Tangfastic ?
-
Got BBC Radio Stoke commentry on the stream I'm watching, they have just accused him of being biased.

Depends on how much help they are expecting from the ref.

The conference is being held in what used to be the railway terminus for the London to Manchester line - we still await the official announcement of the cancellation of the Manchester link of HS2, the full length of which will start from London, ( or somewhere close ). Could somebody put a call in to Alannis Morissette. -
I was once cycing up Blackpool Prom and there was a car in front of me the driver of which was looking for something, a side road or a hotel probably, and was dawdling along, so I shouted at him to "get out of the bloody way" as he was slowing me down.

Is it a re-interpretation of "Dig For Victory" ? -
At 30 mph a car passing me on my bike will generally have a speed differential of over 10 mph and will take a couple of seconds to get past me. At 20 that differential will be, at best, 4 mph, and it will take at least 3 times as long to go past. This increases the danger to me, and means the car will need to find a much longer stretch of road without oncoming traffic to achieve it's manoeuvre with a safe passing distance. Car drivers are going to get more frustrated behind cyclists and more likely to take stupid chances to go past.

This thread needs you to fuck off.

Ukrainian tank crews pretended to be Russians and contacted the Russian tank factories to complain about the quality and reliability of the upgraded T-72s, which they have been capturing and turning on their original operators.

So the World #1 playing with the US PGA champion loses by a record score to a player who has yet to play in a major.

Don't you find it funny that whenever the UK Government needs a positive financial story to spin the ONS or OBR manage to find a numerical revision to a previous report that provides it.
-
Yet again you demonstrate your total lack of mathematical capability. Oh, btw, official UK Government documents show both the IMF and OECD predict that the UK economy will underperform for the rest of the 2023/24 financial year as compared to the Eurozone, and France specifically.
-
Where did you get that from ? It looks like the total of road deaths, rather than those hit by cars travelling at or near 30mph. Last year, according to Government figures, there were a total of 376 pedestrians killed on the roads of the UK. Many of those would have been hit by cars going faster than 30 mph. On top of the pedestrian figures there were 12 fatalities of e-scooter riders, and 85 cyclists. https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/news/motoring-news/report-reveals-number-of-deaths-on-british-roads-increase-by-8-percent/

Lancashire County Council came up with a plan to make the entire County 20mph, other than designated trunk routes. They justified this with the results of traffic surveys that showed on many roads the average speed of traffic was below 24 mph - the surveys were taken during the 'school run' times, when traffic is naturally heavier and slower. They were forced to withdraw the proposal. Instead they have placed 20mph zones around schools, which is fine. In general, targetted traffic calming is far better than a blanket limit.
-
Plenty of cyclists do over 20 mph. Does a 20 mph limit mean cyclists have to have calibrated speedometers ?

The way things are I would love the team to be an unremarkable middling Championship side, it would show an improvement.
