  1. The Road to Wigan Pier goes round the city centre one way system. At a pinch you might fall into the canal.
  2. But they are more efficient, apparently.
  3. In my experience, a lot of external 'experts' brought in to implement new IT systems were no more capable than our internal staff, they were just better paid and less overworked.
  4. I was cut in the third round of staff reductions in 5 years, an exercise in specifically reducing head count. Almost all of the duties I was carrying out had to be outsourced as there was nobody internal capable of doing them, and net, therefore, there was zero cost saving.
  5. Sonny Baker's bowling getting murdered by Aiden Markram in the ODI.
  6. Local Government has been 'squeezed' financially for the last 15 years, how much more waste and inefficiency do people think there is ?
  7. But if the Government had warned him he would have dismissed it as FAKE NEWS.
  8. Nic is only the second smartest person in the room when he is on his own.
  9. Why does the Governmrnt need to hire lawyers when so many of them ARE lawyers ?
  10. One of the group of men putting up England flags around Salford has a conviction for people smuggling. https://manchestermill.co.uk/manchester-flags-lee-twamley-salford-smuggler/
  11. PGMOL have stood down Michael Salisbury from VAR for Liverpool v Arsenal after admitting that his VAR intervention that led the match referee to disallow Fulham's goal yesterday was a mistake. Thing is, the ref could still have stuck with the goal after the pitch side review, so will he be stood down from his next game ?
  12. 130 in 13 overs between Dawson and Currie, the last 5 overs were mental. Daws stepping wide of off stump and playing over fine leg for successive boundaries and scoring at 2 per ball in the partnership..
  13. Exactly. Sometimes you have to credit the free kick taker - How many of Prowsey's goals were gifted by GK errors ?
  14. If we get 6 points from the next 4 fixtures we will be ahead.
  15. Don't forget Jander and Fellows.
  16. Whatever Trump does he will always be a narcissistic buffoon.
  17. "A US appeals court has ruled that most tariffs issued by US President Donald Trump are illegal, setting up a potential legal showdown that could upend his foreign policy agenda. The ruling affects Trump's "reciprocal" tariffs, imposed on most countries around the world, as well as other tariffs slapped on China, Mexico and Canada. In a 7-4 decision, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit rejected Trump's argument that the tariffs were permitted under an emergency economic powers act, calling them "invalid as contrary to law"." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckgj7jxkq58o
  18. GK and CF are still weak in terms of quality, though in terms of the strikers maybe we will find that Stalin was right in saying "Quantity has it's own quality".
  19. Listening to my wife doing her DuoLingo Dutch course. This morning she has learnt the phrases "The elephant is concerned about his toes" and "The ducks are concerned about the rhinoceros' clothes". You never inow when this sort of thing will come in handy.
  20. This is not an attack on free speech against the press, though it does try to silence the Reform councillors. These reporters can still print whatever they want sbout the council, they will just not be talking directly to Reform members. There are still the opposition councillors to feed them stories, and there are bound to be 'well placed sources' leaking information from members of the majority or officers, and all Council minutes and decisions still have to be released into the public domain. Keeping their nutters out of the spotlight and muting their bleatings is probably in the public interest. An attack on free epeech would be to try to impose an injunction on these news outlets.
  21. Nic, rational ? Now we know you are his second login.
  22. What about zebras ?
  23. Sorry, the spirit of Nutty Nic must have overcome me.
