The Deva Stadium, home of Chester FC, is owned by Cheshire West Council and located within the bounds of that Authority. The matches are policed by Cheshire Constabulary. The entrance to the ground is in England, but the pitch is in Wales, so the club have been told by the Police that they cannot have fans at games. However, as they are not an affiliated Welsh club, they cannot apply to the Welsh assembly for financial assistance. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-59920281
  2. Have they managed to find enough players ?
  3. "Nathaniel Clyne played here at Crystal Palace 11 years ago before moving on to Liverpool".
  4. As Paul Weller sang "Stop apologising for the things you've never done."
  5. Here we go again.
  6. Don't tell MLG.
  7. If you want to be pedantic yes the "rules" are technically the same, but if the current game was being played at Selhurst Park the Palace penalty claim might well have been awarded on review. Also, it is entirely possible that PL teams playing at home will be able to take advantage of their experience of VAR to play offside more tightly, for instance. All teams should have the benefit of a level playing field.
  8. (1) you take contrary positions consistently, it is your defining character trait. (2) no they don't. All goals and penalty awards are verified by VAR, so the referee's decision can be overturned. Therefore, not the same rules.
  9. I think the ref has allowed the location to modify his opinion of what comprises fair play. Still, happy with the state of the match so far.
  10. Why do you always jump on everybody else's opinions ? Just occasionally keep your fingers off the keyboard and people might have a more amiable view of you. I feel that all matches in a particular round should be played to the same rules.
  11. Bloody ridiculous that if an FA Cup third round tie is at a Premier League ground then VAR will be in use. Would it not be fairer for all ties to be without until the point later in the competition when they will have it available for all matches.
  12. Jack Butland, oh deary deary me 🙂
  13. Mack should be able to identify him, he's got to be related.
  14. Looks a bit like him but why would he be out at about in a stand at the opoosite side of the ground from the changing rooms during his side's innings, and moving behind the bowler whilst his team mate was batting ?
  15. Blue shirt, skate logo, "University of Skatesmouth" emblazoned across the front. Not sure about it being Lyon though. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/howzat-portsmouth-shirt-wearing-supporter-temporarily-stops-play-in-englands-fourth-ashes-test-against-australia-3519911

    Coronavirus

But the EU are unable to organise a vaccination program, Brexiteers told us that having left we were in a much better position - "World Beating" in fact.
  17. Teething troubles, it's not as if they have had the last 5 years to get things sorted. As long as it works in fifty years time when we get to find out if there are actually any financial benefits from Brexit.
  18. Ignorant skate bastard walking up and down the steps in the batsman's eyeline as Jimmy Anderson runs in to bowl.
  19. The system impoirters are meant to be using is called IPAFFS, which is almost completely unusable because it "sends error messages stating that declarations cannot be submitted without food safety certificates or details of the border control posts where goods will be physically checked. Importers will not have these details because food safety certificates and physical checks are not required until July and several border control posts have not been built yet." Users are consequently advised to switch to PEACHES instead, and are then faced not just with a system that only works with IE, it doesn't even work with the latest ( last ) version of IE, ( IE11 - in deprecated support until June ), you somehow have to find an earlier ( unsupported ) version to get full functionality. The alternative to all that non-functional IT is to revert to paper and manual records. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/brexit-food-imports-government-b1984912.html
  20. I think De Bruyne, Jesus, Walker, Silva, Ake, etc just about count as regular first team starters 😉
  21. 8 players aged 20 or under for City, most of whom are listed in a first team squad for the first time.
  22. 21 cases of covid in the city squad and staff, including Pep.
