  1. Business Minister Kwasi Kwarteng hiding his opinion that the judiciary is biased against the Government by hiding behind "People are saying.....". Will the "Enemies of the People" newspaper front pages make a reappearance ?
  2. Why rename it from 'Base Case' ? If it wasn't the 'Worst Case' then, it isn't now. As noted above, point 15, according to the copy leaked a month ago :"Petrol import tariffs, which the government has set at 0%, will “inadvertently” lead to the closure of two oil refineries, 2,000 job losses, widespread strike action and disruptions to fuel availability"
  3. I know it's not an EU related decision, but is this indicative of the sort of European legal ruling that Brexiteers are opposed to ? "A French company has been found liable for the death of an employee who had a cardiac arrest while having sex with a stranger on a business trip. A Paris court ruled that his death was an industrial accident and that the family was entitled to compensation." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-49662134
  4. What a load of xenophobic, reactionary, historically inaccurate, ball-locks.
  5. Opposition MPs are meeting at Church House, which is also where an "alternative Parliament" was proposed during a recess in the run up to Blair's Iraq war, and which then forced a recall of MPs to Westminster.
  6. Do you read any of the posts from GM or Duckie, or for that matter most of those that you present ? Could it be that the Remainers might just be winning the debate ?
  7. Boris Johnson’s suspension of the UK Parliament is unlawful, Scotland’s highest civil court has ruled. "The Court will accordingly make an Order declaring that the Prime Minister's advice to HM the Queen and the prorogation which followed thereon was unlawful and is thus null and of no effect." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-49661855
  8. It's OK for the PM, so why not a bigoted old Yorkie f@rt.
  9. I get the impression that most of Wes' life has involved 'enduring' one oppressive burden or another.
  10. KD scored the only goal in the third minute on 19 Jan 1998, in a 1-0 home win against Man Utd. 17:06 in this video
  11. England are apparently playing "in the provinces". Has Hampshire ever been a province ?
  12. And former right wing Tory.
  13. Might yet get a first innings lead.
  14. What has democracy to do with politics ? How many Governments are elected by a majority of the votes cast, let alone a majority of the Electorate ? How many MPs similarly within their constituencies ? Has there ever been a Parliament where the relative numbers of MPs for each party reflected the proportional share of the vote ? How many bills passed through Parliament have never been part of an election manifesto, and hence subject to voter scrutiny and approval ?
  15. Londinium
  16. If it's good enough for the Fixed Term Parliaments Act.....,.
  17. And hadn't called the 2017 election.
  18. Is that the Canada deal that took about 7 years to negotiate, and is still far from fully implemented ?
  19. Lindsay Hoyle as new speaker ? A Labour MP from Lancashire, couldn't do better.
  20. Wes will be pleased.
  21. Most of your posts deserve "childish" responses, like for like.
  22. Are we still the only English club to sign a current European Player of the Year ?
  23. So the ERG, etc, who voted down the WA are really Remainers ? And surely, if the peop!e voting against the WA were truly Remainers, then they were bound to vote down the WA as it confirmed the path to leaving the EU.
  24. He has already apologised for not correcting 'auto-correct's error. My tablet computer keeps auto-correcting 'majority' to 'minority', which in the context of this thread is mildly amusing.
  25. He is stuck because he actually views Boris as a " pinko".
