Are you therefore admitting that you are the 'perfect dull' rightie ?

Just imagine Boris as the public/ political face of Britain on the World stage, representing our interests at the G7 or some other geo-political summit. Frightening.

He finds out on Monday that he's in a job until Friday.

Chalk one up for probably the oldest GB competitor - 56 year old Nick Skelton going clear in the team show jumping. And as for the Daily Heil article - what about all the 'plastic' South Africans playing for the England cricket team ? ( Strauss, Trott, Peiterson, etc )

More cycling medals up for grabs tomorrow, and hopefully Christine Ohurougu and Yamile Aldama can boost the athletics total.

Bit greedy for the women's pursuit team to do so many in the one event though

Why couldn't Ramsey have taken the second pen like that ?

Too technical for you ? There is an awful lot of work goes into dressage, and I'd much rather watch that than judo - can't work out what's going on at all.

That would be the last they ever see of that. They had better try to get registered as football creditors ready for CVA3.

Global warming really is happening... (well, duh!)

The bit I quoted comes in the context of the previous post, not a 'prediction' but something evidenced from the geological record. It's an easy tactic for sceptics to throw out 'the Earth has been a lot warmer without human interaction' to belittle the possibility that our current activities might be accelerating an otherwise 'natural' geological cycle. -

From the Daily Mail report: "If Antarctica ever became as warm again, sea levels could rise 60 metres (197 feet)" . That would put most of this country under water; Southampton, Portsmouth, London, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Belfast, Cardiff, Plymouth, Newcastle, etc, etc, etc would be mostly submerged, not forgetting New York, Sydney, Rio, Hong Kong, amongst the huge swathes of the current global land mass that would disappear. If you go back far enough the Earth was a ball of molten rock and metal, several hundred degrees warmer than today, also within any human input - but I don't think it would have been a nice place to live. This report doesn't add anything to the debate, it merely re-iterates what we already know, that the Earth has gone through multiple periods of warmer and colder climate than it is currently experiencing. The issues we need to be addressing are (1) whether human activity enhancing or accelerating the current warming cycle, and (2) whether we can actually do anything to prevent it running out of control, which it may well do. -
I have really enjoyed this trilogy but there is one problem with the whole thing - given the events of the first 2, how come so many millions are still willing to risk living in Gotham ? I'd have run to the hills after TDK. After watching TDKR I spent 20 minutes in Pizza Hut debating with my younger son the physics and mechanics of how the wheels on the Bat Bike actually function on corners - much to the despair of my wife and older son.

How would they cope with my FY post code ? Or even better, maybe we could get Dubai Phil, EofA, Tokyo Saint, and Ohio acting as agents provocateurs, ( if they aren't already ).

If only the athletes could produce medals on a per-capita basis the way the cyclists and rowers do.

Hindes is dual nationality - German & British. Up to 2010 he was riding for Germany and needed the IOC to waive the qualification by residence rules so that he could ride for GB 2 years earlier than he would otherwise be able.

"He said he met Tal Ben Haim and his adviser Andrew Andronikou, Pompey’s former administrator, to discuss the situation.". You couldn't make it up !

When an advert is for 'Best ever....' or 'New improved...' - how cr@p was the product previously ?

Well played by the women, beating Brazil for a third successive win.

At the 1948 Olympics there were medals for Architecture ( Architectural Design and Town Planning ), Literature ( Lyric Works and Epic Works ), Music ( Vocal, Instrumental, and Orchestral ), Painting and Graphic Art ( Oils, Engravings, and Applied Arts ), and Sculpture ( Statues, Reliefs, and Plaques ). GB won 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze.

3 day eventing is derived from cavalry training, in which the close control ( dressage ) was vitally important as part of melee combat preparation, maintaining formation on the battlefield, and creating the partnership and trust between horse and rider. ( Similarly, find a video of the Spanish Riding School ). It is actually very hard work, which I know having tried it both as a rider and in training working hunter ponies. There are still the individual and team dressage, and individual and team show-jumping events to come.

Fine, but it isn't just Jamaicans that say it.

Not the bloody judges who got the score wrong and then had to correct their error ?

People 'axing' questions of each other. ( Generally the same people who finish each sentence with "you know?". )
