  2. For some this is not a surprise. Regardless of the colour of ribbon the successful donkey is wearing, history's lesson is that we just get 'same old same old'.

  5. Dune's Kampf
  6. The Life and Times of the Right Wing Ostrich.
  7. If only to play 'spot the quote' - including quoting Ripley back at Sigourney Weaver.
  8. Spanish Train ( I feel so ashamed that I know Chris de Burgh albums )
  9. seasoning
  10. Surely 'Bridge on the River Kwai' isn't a NAZI war film ? Battle of the River Plate is a typical Brit flick, Das Boot & Downfall are superb portayals of what war is really like, ( and as with Downfall, try watching Boot in german with subtitles - it's much better ). Any old b&w film with John Mills - Dunkirk, Ice Cold in Alex, Above Us the Waves, etc. Battle of Britain / Angels One Five. The Cruel Sea Von Ryan's Express Casablanca ( ? )
  11. Stop living in the real world. Facts don't make good newspaper stories.
  12. A letter from the CSA ?

  14. As far as I am aware, all councils have been pressured by Georgie Porgie to freeze Council Tax for the coming year.
  15. Where's the post match wrist slitting thread ?
  16. What you have to remember about Local Government is that most of what they do is statutory, and carried out under the direction of Westminster, which is also where most of the money comes from. The Councillors have an ability to directly affect no more than about 35% of what is done by their staff.
  17. At least we've achieved what is always quoted as the key aim of an away team, keep the home crowd quiet.
  18. Let's hope for a big improvement in the next 45 minutes.
  19. Much as I hate to admit it, this post sums the whole process up. It is just a sop to disaffected LibDems. FPTP is a severely flawed system, which is skewed by the regional discrepencies in the political balance in the 4 home countries, and AV is not going to change a thing, ( see this analysis of the 2010 election - http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/may/10/alternative-vote-minimal-impact-general-election ). If we are going to change we must go for STV, but the referendum has been fixed by giving us a choice between 'no change' and 'effectively no change'.
  20. That's it, season over. This shower of sh1te aren't even good enough for the play-offs. Another season down the pan. Oh sorry, I've gone all Alpine.
  21. And I've come across many consultants employed by private sector suppliers who get paid more than me, yet can't find their arse with both hands, and I end up fixing systems they've buggered up or don't understand. You're point is what exactly ?
  22. It is mathematically possible with the current system for the party with the most votes to have 0 MPs !
  23. The last time we had a majority Liberal Government, Labour was a fledgling party with 29 seats, women couldn't vote, and Eire was still sending MPs to Westminster.
  24. It is a Public Sector body that on April 1st loses 28% of it's budget as compared to last year.
  25. It's just that articles like the one you quoted are taken as being 'the norm' across the public sector, when in fact it is far and away a miniscule minority of the jobs that fit such a category. Yet some people swallow this tripe wholesale and believe every bit of hype and drivel the Heil, Torygraph, and Express spout.
